>Trump is only bellyaching because he unilaterally started an offensive war without consulting U.S. allies or following international law. Naturally, most countries don’t see the consequences of the war as their responsibility, especially considering that the many U.S. military bases in the Persian Gulf are supposed to guard against threats to oil and gas infrastructure. Trump’s demand for other countries to “do it themselves” raises the question of why the U.S. even has those Gulf bases to begin with.

As an American, I'm rather curious myself. It seems those tax dollars could be used to pay down debt and invest in renewables instead.
121
thetechguyv Mar 31, 2026 +75
Nah better to spend a billion dollars to NOT build a windfarm.

Too late for that old chum. You know how much interest the US has to pay on existing debt? Debt that is skyrocketing and is hugely impacted by interest rates that the big Orange Womble is helping to raise? America is already bankrupt but the big crash happens either early next year at the latest, or sooner - when America literally can not cover those payments. There’s literally nothing that can be done now that can prevent this. Those that know are buckling in for the ride. Trump being the feckless idiot he is, will likely speedrun the economic crash by minting a ‘trillion dollar coin’ - basically printing money. Never ends well. And this ‘Trump Trillion’ coin will have his face on it and he’ll think is the best thing ever.

>America is already bankrupt but the big crash happens either early next year at the latest, or sooner - when America literally can not cover those payments. They are denominated in dollars, so “literally can not cover those payments” is not a thing. The problem will be inflation.
7
DuckWhatduckSplat Mar 31, 2026 +11
This the last part. They don’t run out of money, because they can print money. It’s the money printing that devalues the dollar and crashes the economy. It’s unfortunately a dead cert.
11
fieldri1 Apr 1, 2026 +2
I remember the comedian Rob Newman equating Bush's 'Axis Of Evil' with the countries threatening to stop buying oil in us dollars. The debt in the US is only serviceable because other countries have had to purchase dollars in order to buy oil. If oil becomes avaliable for euros or Saudi Dinah then the value of the dollar would crash and take the US economy down. Of course, since then drumpf has increased the level of us debt beyond comprehension. Can't recall the details, but I believe his tax cuts in his first term increased the debt more than every other president in history combined. And 83% of the tax cut went to the top 1%

It was never and will never be about improving life in the US for Americans, it has always been about making the rich richer and more powerful. Nothing to do with citizens. Those people control (with their money) not only your life, but also the president, the US army, and all their actions around the globe. They move them as they want, kill whoever they want to eliminate, so they can get their natural resources for themselves, not for you or me obviously. Obviously the president is always a puppet figure, designed to take blame (or credit) for their decisions. It's all a big TV show, has been the case since before JFK.

long_strange_trip_67 Mar 31, 2026 +4
Are you kidding? Think about how much money the defense contractors have contributed to members of Congress to help them get elected. Billions upon billions if not trillions. Look at what that’s got them. An aerial war can never be won

bgthigfist Mar 31, 2026 +12
Trump is systematically severing relationships with Europe and will be withdrawing from NATO
12
Aggravating_Teach_27 Mar 31, 2026 +8
That's already done. But now he's pretending NATO is still alive (after murdering and burying it) in case we haven't noticed and he can scam us one last time...

He didn't consult Congress. He listened to PM of Israel and attacked Iran. It's f****** insane. And now Israel is saying they're not going to put boots on the ground either so if Pedo Trump sends Americas to die it's all on him.

Exactly. Who woulda thought that berating other countries constantly for years and years would leave us looking pretty lonely in a situation like this. Especially a situation of our own making.
13
HDXHayes Apr 1, 2026 +5
First he tries to bully us economically and tell us our sacrifices in previous wars don't actually count. He doesn't need us. Then Iran gives the US' pecker a smack, and He tucks tail and runs to us looking for help. Get f****** bent, cake eater.

8
The_Hermit_09 Mar 31, 2026 +9
So this is kinda how the situation is being portrayed, but the bigger issue is that the US hasn't formally asked for help or set up a plan for a coordinated effort. Trump is just screaming into the wind.
9
LoquaciousOfMorn Mar 31, 2026 +15
You mean whining on Air Force One and sending out all caps tweets aren't the official channels for asking for military aid? I guess you probably want him to go through Congress to "officially" declare war as well.
15
Repulsive-Party6267 Mar 31, 2026 +7
My worry is he’ll now try to encourage Putin to go to war with border EU countries. These two bastards are cooking up something.
7
Aggravating_Teach_27 Mar 31, 2026 +15
Putin is hanging on for dear life in Ukraine. And European NATO would respond even if we know America won't. Putin would enslave us all if he could, but the limit of his current power is "not being able to conquer Donbass after 4 years".
15

1
ArchdukeToes Mar 31, 2026 +1
I still don’t get the guys who have looked at how Russia is doing in Ukraine and think ‘Ayup, this is the country that could definitely take on the whole of Europe!’. The guy is stuck in a worse situation than Trump. Trump might be deeply humiliated by pulling out of Iran, but I don’t think Putin would survive having to surrender.
1
Repulsive-Party6267 Mar 31, 2026 -2
It’s not about win or loss. CIA is very good in creating situations which can lead to an unavoidable war. Like they did with Ukraine.

1. Spend a year threatening to invade allies and imposing arbitrary import taxes on them. 2. During that year arrest and/or deport their citizens, even those here legally. 3. Start a war without a plan and without consulting allies that destabilizes the entire global economy. 4. Complain that they won't help you. 5. Say that you don't need their help. 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you're forced to back out of the war, having accomplished nothing. Wow, so much winning.

Worse than having accomplished nothing -- having functionally lost the war (in a strategic sense) and with Iran in de facto control of the Strait of Hormuz.
7
jimmybirch Mar 31, 2026 +3
You missed the biggest one that might be being underplayed over there… he belittled the support of allies during previous wars. Insulting the many dead and injured… people in the UK and no doubt the rest of the world will never forget that and the politicians here know this

If any republican wants a future past Trump, they may want to consider biting the bullet and just get rid of him now. Because at this rate, there’s not gonna be much left for them to “rule”
52
Solid_Owl Mar 31, 2026 +39
Republicans will own this til the day I die. The sheer lack of responsibility, accountability, and wisdom that republicans have exhibited for the last 40 years is simply unforgivable. It's astounding in its breadth and astonishing in its depth. Conservatives and Libertarians are a threat to American solvency, the middle class, the lower class, global stability, international relationships, domestic peace, and democracy. They stand for nothing and fall for everything. It's difficult to find a single sacred principle they haven't violated. Trump simply says the quiet part out loud and exposes their moral gape. They'll try to claim it was just him acting alone, but they enabled it like codependent tradwives and forced him upon us at the family gatherings.
39
Randomwhitelady2 Mar 31, 2026 +28
Republicans own this. They gave away their power to Trump and turned their back on their responsibility to this country. They may as well try to save us now because i can assure you that the midterms will see them out on their ass. https://www.cnbc.com/2026/03/04/us-iran-war-live-updates.html

No_Celery_5373 Mar 31, 2026 +28
Trump won't even acknowledge that Russia is going to help Iran kill Americans, but will take the time to attack his allies. You're literally completely fucked if you go through with an attack under these circumstances. He is compromised and leading you down a hole.
28
omerome83 Mar 31, 2026 +80
As an American who lives under this horrific regime, I want to tell our foreign allies, thank you very much for this. The resident in the White House is a giant orange POS who needs to be kept being told no. Everyday. He doesn't deserve any grace and assistance for his disgusting actions - even if he is unfortunately the president of the US. F*** him.
80
GargantuaBob Mar 31, 2026 +40
>this horrific regime Well, yes. However I'll remind you that this regime wouldn't be there if it weren't fully in phase with a large number of Americans. Around 30% of all Americans every time I check, which are perfectly fine with whatever new despicable decision Trump and his cronies take. Your *real* problem is them. Sooner or later, Trump will be gone. Whether from a massive coronary or through internecine fighting within the party. But his base will remain. Angry, ignorant, evil. The mediatic environnement which nurtures their hatred and shapes them from a mob to a semi-coherent political force will still be there. You guys have **a lot** of work to do to restore your society to a semblance of a benevolent democracy. It will take years, against forces Hellbent against the good of the people. Best of luck.
40
kingsumo_1 Mar 31, 2026 +13
We not only have about a third that actively support this, but we also have a very sizable chunk that may not like what's going on, but don't dislike it enough to do anything about it. Things need to get much worse (here) for that second set to actually engage. And let's say Trump finally goes for his final windmill tilt and a Dem manages to take over. They will simply revert back to "see, it all worked out. You were overreacting." And then in four - eight years will allow fascism back in because, eh why not? We have a *much* larger issue than simply the rabid red hats, and nowhere near enough people want to actually admit that.
13
KoalaKvothe Mar 31, 2026 +6
At some point, those two sets become morally and functionally equivalent and should be treated as such
6
Stumpjumper71 Mar 31, 2026 +4
They have the government that they deserve, congrats on not electing that uppity woman of colour. /s just in case.
4
omerome83 Mar 31, 2026 +2
And yes, that is a huge concern. I agree. The orange POS is not the cause, but a symptom. But also, he is a representation or manifestation of the evil/hatred those same people have. He says and does things they always wished they could do in public, and now they feel liberated. And he's also a willing and useful idiot who is more than happy to put his name on everything and be given vanity projects while the more nefarious people start to enact their dystopian objectives behind the scenes. With that said, I really do think that one of the core issues as to why we're here today is because the US has had and still has a huge racism problem. To a lot of those 30%, if the choice were to provide a better society for everyone, they would rather starve or light themselves on fire than to see a minority get the same benefit as they would. And that thinking and many others have made it a decades long goal of the GOP, their aligned think-tanks, and all of their donors to continually foster that hatred. They have, unfortunately, done a masterful job of systematically destroying the infrastructure needed for a healthy country while using fear and anger to promote lies that they alone can fix what they actually broke. And also used that anger on those who simply decided to stay at home and to place blame on someone else (Democrats), and that's why they are the enemy. I mean, after all the horrible things the confederacy stood for and has done during the American Civil War, they were not really punished. Instead of doing what needed to be done by the leaders of the country, by holding them accountable, they instead went with reunification. And because of that those same racist people raised their children to be the same racist POS as they were, and the cycle continued. It is way past time for this country to stop just trying to heal and simply move forward. You can't heal unless to properly treat or cut out the festering boil or infection first. So, it is important that the American people elect the right individuals are willing to punish (not forgive) ALL the people who played their role in destroying the foundations of this country. Put them all on trial, throw them in jail, and keep them there. The goal should be about accountability, not healing. And also create stronger safeguards so that this can't and won't happen again. Otherwise, the next figurehead won't be as dumb and as orange, but instead, more charismatic, measured, and conniving. I am hopeful that we can start the process to restoring our society to a semblance of a healthy benevolent democracy. And it is something I am fighting for.
2
RumHamComesback Mar 31, 2026 +1
That's really it right there. Americans got rid of Trump and then they went and voted him back into power. There is something wrong with politics in America and even after Trump is gone his base will still be there like you said. All the sane Republicans are gone (stop laughing, I'm talking about the Liz Cheneys of the party) and what is left are his "loyalists" and just dumb fucks that thing this shit is fine.

As they rightfully should. Trump in no way shape or form has defined clearly why we’re even fighting this war. We’re sending thousands US soldiers to the Middle East once again, and we have no clear objective other than to appease Donald Trump‘s insane whims.
12
rm11217 Mar 31, 2026 +11
Remember last week when he said he didn’t need any help? Good times.
11
trisul-108 Mar 31, 2026 +12
He is not "asking for help", he is asking for others to step into an area where he does not dare go. He wants the allies to sail into the Hormuz Straight and collect drone attacks because the US Navy does not dare do so. He is asking others to be US kamikaze warriors ... while he abuses them verbally, works against them economically and even organises political coups against them.

The US will struggle to sell any advanced military equipment in future after labelling itself an unreliable supplier. And US software is likely to be second choice as well if other available suppliers outside of the US or China can be found. Both will take time. But wheels have been set in motion. As these reactions by (former?) allies shows. And irrespective of who succeeds Trump is unlikely going to change that.

9
gogou Mar 31, 2026 +7
It is not an official request, if only he followed the rules then it would have been easier to get help. But he is contently bashing allies, not even recognizing the death of other nation that answered the Article 5 call from USA, he went alone in this not even engaging with allies first + he want to take Greenland out of allies. What does he expect exaclty ?
7
Aggravating_Teach_27 Mar 31, 2026 +7
>only he followed the rules then it would have been easier to get help. Not this time. Too many bridges burned by Trump and his administration. The gall to constantly insult and threaten Europe with every kind of harm including invasion and then ask us to go clean his fuckup is... Incredible. And that many of you still think that asking nicely would have changed anything is incredible too. You still don't realize the amount of damage done by the US. Putin couldn't have dreamt of a better agent to destroy NATO. Trump is offended by everything, ashamed of nothing. Exactly the same as his boss Putin
7
Admirable_Scene_5066 Mar 31, 2026 +4
> And that many of you still think that asking nicely would have changed anything is incredible too. You still don't realize the amount of damage done by the US. Putin couldn't have dreamt of a better agent to destroy NATO. What annoys me is the narrative that it is because allies hate Trump. Don't get me wrong: they do, but the reason you'll find zero support in Europe is because this war is so completely brain dead it is unwinnable. It is completely irrational. A completely unnecessary war instigated by an unholy alliance of genocidal maniacs, demented toddlers and christo-fascists. Israel lost all its goodwill two years ago, only Russia is more hated and if you ask people on the streets it'd be closer than you think. The US was not liked before this war, and now they are f****** over people's wallets. Joining this war is political suicide for anybody involved, left right or centre, extreme or moderate. It is lunatics vs lunatics, and people aren't going to fall for any bullshit about the free world versus the rest because as far as they are concerned neither Israel nor the US are a part of that any more. So any leader getting involved can kiss his carreer goodbye, and nobody is going to do that for an unwinnable conflict. The Iran regime is stronger than it was a month ago. USrael lost the moment they let Iran block the strait they just don't realise it yet. Every day this goes on longer is a day of more economic hurt for pretty much the whole world. This ends in two ways: the attack on Iran stops, or by an economic crisis that will take down a good number of governments worldwide. Nobody is going to stick their nose in if that means this nonsense lasts even longer. You'll see European countries paying tolls to Iran before you'll see them entering the war. That is how big of a f*** up this is.

but guys I thought we had already won the war or we're winning the war or about to be finished winning the war? Is the last part that we can't seem to finish just to get other countries to go in there and tank the drone strikes on behalf of Donald Trump? Sure seems to need a lot of big help here for a guy who is also big winning hard

Talks are going well, we won the war, this isn't a war, but we also need help.

Waiting for him to post "but how about them epstein files?" In an effort to distract from his massive f*** up in Iran, which was of course meant to serve as a distraction from the epstein files.

How could anyone have known that unilaterally blundering into a war that every single military strategist on the planet knew to avoid because it would definitely put the world's energy supply in a stranglehold - and offering zero justification for your actions besides 'vibes' - would make you unpopular amongst the traditional allies you've spent the last ten years snubbing, bad-mouthing, and extorting? Seriously, do people expect trump to be some kind of mind-reader or something?

Whys he so upset, I thought he was ending the war anyways /s

Hey there, Donnie, they're on refusing to join because you ask them. They won't refuse if you don't ask.

1. Moron launches ill advised war. 2. Asks for help from allies he’s shit on over and over to save his ass. 3. Gets butthurt and cries like the baby he’s always been.

Trump has a very short memory, as one would with his advanced dementia. The US National Security Strategy, in December 2025, slammed Europe as being a greater threat than Russia or China. Trump has been working diligently to burn bridges with our allies. Is Trump surprised as his success in alienating our allies? Probably. He may not even remember his own National Security Strategy from three months ago.

This is the geopolitical equivalent of your buddy who keeps getting into stupid bar fights. One night you just get f****** tired of it and don't help them out and they act like you were never a good friend because they got beat this time.

The other countries should go... "Charge us to traverse the Strait of Hormuz? Send the invoice to DJ Trump".

Glad that Spain and Italy have taken a stand against the illegal US - Israel War attack on Iran. They are smarter than the Arab countries housing US forces and European countries with US bases. It should be obvious that in the future these are future conquests to US and Israel one way or the other.

We threatened to conquer allied nations. No shit they don't want anything to do with us anymore.

Trump is scared and unpredictable now. He is desperate and looking for an off-ramp for his mistake. He took Israel's bait, and now he will pay for it politically. I am sure he will come up with some weak spin or faux victory speech, and his MAGA cult will buy it.

F****** dipshit rapist toddler. No concept of how anything works, has never been held accountable for anything so he doesn't know how. Remember the comment he made about how he was basically the same as he was in kindergarten?

Why didn't we build a coalition before the operation like we did before Gulf 1, gulf 2 and Afghanistan?

It'd have been nice to ask nicely instead of the constant insult-threat-insult-threat that passes as "diplomacy" with allies these days (nice words are instead reserved for autocrats). But make no mistake. We wouldn't have gone there. Not because we are cowardly out disloyal, but because: 1. It's a terrible, no good, God awful idea. 2. You can't defecate all over your former allies (insults, threats, tariffs, strong arming, threats of invasion, derision, gangster tactics, etc), and then turn on a dime, smile and say 'hey buddy, sacrifice more soldiers (that I insulted) and ships for me... It doesn't work that way. Were no longer allies and it is 100% America's fault. 3. This American government is actively endorsing every radical in Europe with a clear aim to dismantle the EU. No doubt with the 'noble goal' of splitting Europe between you and the Russians and bleed us dry. Were we doing this to you you'd be screaming bloody murder. 4. You went from helping Ukraine to making it a lucrative business of weapon sales to Europe. And now you threaten to send those weapons we've paid for to the stupid Iranian boondoggle of your own making. Within your rights, as are we within our rights to tell you to f*ck off. 5. See number 1. Your idea of alliances is a funny one, one where you say 'jump' and we say 'how high' despite the fact that you keep beating us with a stick all the damn time. Well, we're not dogs. Don't count on us for anything, you traitorous, no good 'ally'. Ask the countries in Trump's "Bored of peace' to help instead. Those are your kind of countries now... Try and spit on your friend's face every time you see them. Then you'll wonder why they don't want to meet with you or die for you. Don't worry, we don't count on you for anything either, except for starting transactional business like weapons for Ukraine.
