you mean sitting duck! even without a super majority in the senate, if democrats have just a simple majority alone then the procedural control and what the public hears is out of trump's hands. unlike the 1st trial where mcconnell ran interference and the 2nd trial which was a "kick him on the way out" but not really intended for real repercussions...a 3rd impeachment in 2027 under dem control could theoretically bare all sins (so to speak) in such a way that GOP senators will have to pick between saving a clearly failing and now demonstratively corrupt trump or saving themselves - not only their political careers but potentially even further hearings that trickle down (i.e. back door deals to trade their vote for immunity).

He's always been a lame duck. He simply started his adult life with more money than most people will ever have. Because of that, he's been able to keep going and even attain the presidency despite failing spectacularly more times than most people will ever get to try.
