Federal government just gave trillions back to billionaires just last year. And DoD just asked for hundreds of billions more, and got no pushback. Bring back the guilotines.

Republican Reagan did the same thing. He smashed unions, outsourced jobs, lowered our lifestyle & livelihoods. Mothers had to go to work so their families could survive. Yes, Reagan also gave the filthy rich , the biggest tax cut in America’s history. As always., republicans rally for the rich and famous, only.

Isn’t he the a****** who coined the term trickle down economics?
13
IntelligentStyle402 Apr 2, 2026 +12
Yup and believe me, I never received any trickle dickle and I’m 81. He was a typical republican president. We ended up having less of everything, yet we get we ended up paying more taxes and more junk fees.

Personal_Chair6134 Apr 2, 2026 +5
Yep, that's what he promised would happen. But instead the rich kept all of their extreme wealth and (as we've learned from the Epstein files) used it to fulfill their most sick and depraved fantasies. We need to return to the Eisenhower tax rates, where the top rate was 90% for $2 million in inflation-adjusted dollars. When the top rate was 90% it heavily disincentivize giving corporate executives large pay packages, where most of everything above $2 million would be taxed. So instead companies were incentivized to reinvest their excess revenue back into their business via R&D, increasing pay and benefits for their workers, etc. That tax policy helped create the strongest middle class in the history of the world.

It had been coined that like 60 years before Reagan and prior to that it was called Horse and Sparrow. Reagan never used trickle down, he called it Reaganomics Same shit, different logo.

aradraugfea Apr 2, 2026 +1
Yes and no. Trickle down was actually invented to make fun of the policy. But kinda like how “bootstraps” were invented to demonstrate the impossibility of lifting yourself out of poverty without outside assistance (imagine someone lifting their entire body into the air by holding onto their shoes and pulling), it got co-opted and embraced by the exact people it tried to make fun of, because conservatives have always loved two things: co-opting the language of resistance and the illiterate.

People need to stop thinking one day they will be billionaires or they need to stop thinking the wealthy are benevolent and got that way through honest, hard work. That is what the only way they will be dealt with and it could be a while before the masses get that through their heads.

BearSquid7 Apr 2, 2026 +44
I guess we can’t afford ballrooms then either. So sad.

caitnicrun Apr 2, 2026 +27
Or ICE.

civil_politician Apr 2, 2026 +18

Pristine-Ad74 Apr 2, 2026 +7
Americans have elected someone not mentally competent to run a hot dog stall to be the most powerful person in the world!!!
7
jediporcupine Apr 2, 2026 +21
But we can afford a $1.5 trillion defense budget and throwing billions of dollars away in an unnecessary war of choice? So much for America First.
21
AdHopeful3801 Apr 2, 2026 +5
Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and General Dynamics first.
5
Gonzomi313 Apr 2, 2026 +20
So we can afford a war with Iran & tax breaks for billionaires but child care is a no? This country man.

Only1Nemesis Apr 2, 2026 +6
Some Twilight Zone shit, for sure. The open corruption is breathtakingly surreal. The stunning part is the people in support. I feel like in November 2024 I branched off into a parallel Universe and everything is fucked. Makes me wonder how we are doing under Kamala in the other timeline.

War in Iran - I'm not a huge fan but understand that wars need to be funded collectively Tax breaks - I don't see the problem Using tax money to pay for other people's kids - f*** that. If someone can't afford kids, they shouldn't have them.

ResidentKelpien Apr 2, 2026 +12
The federal government cannot afford it because he and the Republicans have thrown away our tax dollars on his f****** war, endless lawsuits, f****** ugly vanity projects, bullshit with his golf clubs, his adult diapers, his personal care attendants, and more.

Basic_Yam_715 Apr 2, 2026 +8
How about we just pay state taxes then...
8
Krisparz Apr 2, 2026 +7
So the Heritage Foundation was all about avoiding 2045 and Trump is actually accelerating it.
7
0nlyhalfjewish Apr 2, 2026 +7
So when Trump and friends can donate $300,000,000 for a ballroom, maybe their federal taxes are too low
7
Winter-Huntsman Apr 2, 2026 +5
I’d love it if I could just divert my taxes taken out of my pay check to go directly to my state instead of the fed at this point

EseL1 Apr 2, 2026 +5
What about all that sweet tariff money ?
5
Icy-Clerk-7715 Apr 2, 2026 +5
Trump is an a******
5
dokikod Apr 2, 2026 +3
Why do we have to pay for Trump's $100 million golf habit, which will keep growing year after year?
3
Historical_Bend_2629 Apr 2, 2026 +5
Money is a one-way street under the GOP and Trumpism. Also take away the rights of women and children and make life increasingly unaffordable. So much winning. Defund science. Social safety net? Gone. The environment? Those hippies. Are you cruel and greedy and stupid? Vote for Trump. Double down.

200 billion for war while people are homeless and starving
4
clueless_in_ny_or_nj Apr 2, 2026 +3
Universal Day Care would cost about 40 billions a year. Honestly, it's probably higher than that. The Pentagon requested 200 billion more for the Iran war. We have the money, but we choose to spend it on stupid things.
3
Witwer52 Apr 2, 2026 +3
We choose to spend it blowing up other people’s children, to be exact.
3
Imaginaryreality5304 Apr 2, 2026 +3
We can afford to fund everything in the world, except for anything for the actual American taxpayers paying the taxes and footing the bill.
3
Eastern_Statement416 Apr 2, 2026 +3
Does the stupid son of a b**** realize that money for state taxes comes from the same source as money for federal taxes?
3
Witwer52 Apr 2, 2026 +1
And that that source has nothing left to be squeezed out of it? JTFC.
1
whateveryousaymydear Apr 2, 2026 +3
how come wages are never raised?
3
parzival2019 Apr 2, 2026 +3
Sure, let's run with his suggestion. Let's return to appropriate taxation on the rich. Edit: To clarify, I realize that's not what he meant, but f*** him.
3
Cancel_Culture_Club Apr 2, 2026 +3
Also republicans: but the birth rate is shrinking!! Why?! We should pass more anti-choice bills and cut more social services and that should do it probably.
3
FancyEmployee8672 Apr 2, 2026 +3
we could trim ICE and Military budget
3
SGT_BlueJay Apr 2, 2026 +3
Tax the rich!!!
3
JoEdGus Apr 2, 2026 +3
Could someone tell me why again that I'm paying federal taxes?
3
Quagmire70 Apr 2, 2026 +3

2
OrbeaSeven Apr 2, 2026 +2
Of course, Trump's health care isn't in jeopardy.
2
lgnsqr Apr 2, 2026 +2
Ok. So no more federal income tax. Let states do the work. Some states will do worse and some will do better, but at least we aren't paying into the make more billions for billionaires fund.
2
PropagandaSucks Apr 2, 2026 +1
Trump should stfu if he's only going to lie all the time.
1
ranchoparksteve Apr 2, 2026 +1
Trump burns through money without a care in the world, so basically, he just hates child care.
1
new_random_username Apr 2, 2026 +2
he hates the poor
2
cyberkine Apr 2, 2026 +1
Good thing he doesn't control the budget - Congress does. You're not the owner Donnie, you're just the property manager and you're doing a shit job.

Bucser Apr 2, 2026 +1
You just spent 90 billion dollars on a stupid war noone wanted. Has no point and will not deliver any benefits. Sent the oil for your people from 2.9 to 4.8 a gallon. You have money in the federal government for whatever the f*** you choose to have the money for.

Proper-Mobile-6438 Apr 2, 2026 +1

1
stitiousnotsuper Apr 2, 2026 +1
Stupid f***!
1
Redtex Apr 2, 2026 +1
And this is why he's spending money at the speed of light. He probably figures if he can spend it all nobody can fall back on those "liberal"programs. Same with drilling and protected wetlands and such. I mean once they're in there how the hell do you get them out?
1
saiyanscaris Apr 2, 2026 +1
