I'm sick of it. I live halfway across the world, and all I ever hear and read is the absolute inane drivel that comes out of his mouth. There's no escape.

And tell me you saw the clip of not a single one of them respond to his comments. It was internet GOLD. Go look for it as they play with the mic and you hear the supreme burrito say "i guess the link must be down or not working......" They they respond a bit later about Canada.

I'd still choose the dimensions in where he never called at all. He already humiliates himself on a daily basis, I just want peace from his existence.

chaotic_goody 2 days ago +2
Isn’t that just the transmission latency?
2
Zeikos 2 days ago +7
I don't think so, it's a couple seconds round trip. Maybe three tops if you account for some overhead
7
chaotic_goody 2 days ago +2
Ah appreciate the info. Yeah I guess they're not that far out. Maybe Trump is so dense that the outgoing transmission is slowed?
2
Oerthling 1 day ago +2
Moon is about 400 k km away. Light/radio does 300 k km per second. So latency is less than 1.5 seconds.
2
PapaSheev7 2 days ago +20
They had at least 40mins of peace and quiet though, it was only when they rounded the far side did Trump give them a call.

It’s because the media repeats everything he says. The media could just say “The President rambled incoherently again today” and move on.
17
CatPesematologist 2 days ago +8
It’s worse than that. They sanewash everything.   He could say “you’re all gonna die tomorrow!!!!!! Or maybe I’ll just off the pope, or the president of a country starting with the letter C. Stay tuned. Whatever I do will be out of the goodness of my heart!!!!“  and media would report “Trump announced plans for tomorrow. Said stay tuned. He’s such a jokester.

maybe some of them secretly want him to be removed - they must be frustrated though - I mean - surely dropping an F-bomb and praising Allah - on EASTER - would terminate anybody else's political career - remember back in the day when Dan Quayle spelled potato wrong - and Howard Dean went yeaaaagh - and those were like huge deals - he says something more incoherent or embarrassing every single day ....

I haven't seen the clip or whatever but I assume it's because one of the "goals" were to remove the nuclear material. He has given up on that but he wants to spin it in a way that their material isn't a threat. It's probably "dust" because "we blew up their nuclear material last year"

It's probably down to his general dislike of intelligence: >*Trump went from a high of* ***4.1 briefings per week*** *on average in March 2017 to* ***0.7 per week*** *since July 1, shortly after it became public that he had ignored intelligence reports about Russia offering bounties to the Taliban for each American soldier killed in Afghanistan.* Source: [Huffington Post](https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/trump-intel-briefings-gone_n_5f32f2b9c5b6fc009a5e72e3) (and a ton of other sites)

That or somebody lied to him and told him that he successfully nuked Iran and that's why they're agreeing to a cease fire.
6
BigCountry1182 2 days ago +3
I believe our firm position has been for Iran to give up domestic enrichment programs, let IAEA supervise civilian nuclear facilities (with fuel coming in from other countries and going out for recycling and/or storage) and for Iran to stop paramilitary operations in the region We’ve offered full support rebuilding and integrating their economy into the broader global economy if they’ll surrender their non civilian nuclear ambitions and to cease their proxy fights with Israel, Saudi Arabia, etc. It’s not an unreasonable offer but not one the hardliners in Iran are likely to accept… though it’s unclear who, if anyone, is in actual control of that country right now
3
Stishovite 2 days ago +7
That was our firm position in the Obama administration. The Trump admin has basically just said, nope, too nice, we're going to back out of that and return to needling in various ways ("maximum pressure"). The Iranian leadership (not unreasonably) think that negotiating with Trump is a fool's errand because he can't be trusted. They're awful but you can understand why they might not want to give up all their power for vague promises of assistance, especially if it might decrease their own power even if it did arrive. Negotiating with these types of regimes is a delicate business which we've just steamrolled right over, with predictably bad results.
7
Disastrous-Pipe82 2 days ago +3
How is it not unreasonable??? The US attacking Iran literally enforced the precedent that unless you have nuclear deterrent you will be invaded. That precedent was set first by Russia attacking Ukraine, but it could be explained away bc Putin is a psychopath. The US following in those footsteps signals to all medium sized nations that they need to arm...and do it quickly. If you were running Iran today, would you give up nuclear weapons knowing that it's the only way to prevent an invasion? The post ww2 western world order worked under the fiction that rational democratic states would not start wars of aggression, therefore nuclear weapons were safe only in their hands. As of today, that is demonstrably no longer true and arguably never was. Iraq 2 at least was under false pretence with the consent of the "people" The attack on Iran just proved that what all the anti American regimes have been arguing for the last 50 years has merit - that the US wages wars for resources. Except this time the US can't even pretend there was a justification. Well played MAGA, you just gave every anti American zealout rhetorical ammunition for the next 50 years.

Arguably its between zero and 30 odd people in charge. You need the supreme leader to make executive decisions and hes currently laid up in a coma. One step down is all the regional leaders with there individual command structures, zones of influence and militarys to direct at the control of the regional leader. So nobody is capable of making overarching decisions and 30+ dudes of various ideological goals but generally pointed to survival at all costs are gonna be impossible to negotiate with. See you tomorrow when the ceasefire is broken because the peace negotiations keep going to a vegetables gmail and not the people who could do something

4

Half a ton of enriched uranium. You know. Dust.
2
crimxxx 2 days ago +2
Probably they want to collect the enriched nuclear material that the US bombed Iran for last year. There was reporting of before the bombing large trucks left the facility. Most likely a lot of this war is about that, they just don’t want to say they messed up and don’t really have a good plan here.
2
MourningRIF 1 day ago +2
The stuff that supposedly got buried after the B2 bomber attacks last year. You know, the enriched uranium that we watched them move before the strike. It's probably been moved to DC and is waiting to be used as a dirty bomb if we nuke them. If it's truly buried, it would make more sense for us to agree to monitor that no one digs it up.

Uraniums potency depends on its elemental half-life. …Like from the periodic table. It ‘breaks down’, right? He stopped listening at that point. In his mind: The element itself is solid. It is breaking down. He wants it. Ergo, he thinks he needs literal dust. …like pieces of a broken rock.

We haven’t had any ability to control our government in roughly two decades. It has become entirely captured by oligarchs, and we’ve got zero recourse. The sooner y’all completely isolate us and make us founder, the better it will be for all of us.

Believe it or not, I'm starting to understand how Donald's mind works, and this is a sign that he is finally beginning to learn. It's finally sunk in, after making the biggest threat he could make, that threats do not work with Iran, so we're finally seeing a pivot from stick to carrot. In Donald's world, the carrot is always money, so now it's "we'll make loads of money together," as if he isn't a business partner who threatened you with complete extinction only a few hours ago.
13
Zixinus 1 day ago +1
It is more likely that the truth of the situation has finally reached him beyond the wall of lies that his aids are telling him. His aids are telling him what he wants to hear because that is what they were selected for. He punishes anyone telling him things he does not want to hear. He fired those in the government that dealt with Iran before this debacle even began. Even now, he is firing generals and military staff because of "DEI" or whatever. So yeah, he is now bargaining and back to trying to spin this into "look how great a negotiator I am!" mode. Except you can't negotiate with someone with whom does not trust you.
