Trump Tells Palm Sunday Story About Jesus Being Honored as a King, Adds, 'They Call Me King Now'
President Donald Trump seemingly compared himself to Jesus Christ when he gave a speech at the White House's annual Easter event. His spiritual adviser made a similar comparison at the holiday lunch

Does he remember what happened to Jesus on Good Friday?

Now that would be a Great Friday.

And perhaps, quite frankly, the greatest Friday

The symbol of the new religion will be what killed him: the Golden Arches. Its slogan will be how they mocked him: TACO.

They have their own interpretation of the bible where only the good parts are true and the bad parts are made up, so I'm going to go with no.

i remember when the strange homeschoolers gave the "broken Jesus" corpus on a cross my family has a really strange look kept away from it. They really don't like to think about how brutal Crucifixion is as ways to die, the Romans generally reserved it for murderers and rebels, people they really wanted to make examples of. (Jesus was considered a rebel for his actions with the money changers)

P1xelHunter78 Apr 3, 2026 +1
So they want the muscle Jesus one I take it? My childhood church growing up had a 1850 something altar, all made of wood, and the Jesus on it was a very skinny meek pale looking person. And that was 100% on purpose. Something “Christians” have lost sight of.

If Trump's spiritual advisor thinks Trump is like Jesus....then Jesus was a guy who broke every commandment and raped little girls.
1
Beeht Apr 3, 2026 +1
I mean... Jesus is unaccounted for in the Bible for roughly 18 years.

Nerd-19958 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Trump is much more like evil King Herod, than Jesus. The Bible states that King Herod was stricken down by an angel of God for blasphemy.

CV90_120 Apr 3, 2026 +1
He likely died of kidney disease, based on evidence. Also as middle eastern rulers of the time go, he wasn't especially bad. He did rebuild the second temple. Theres also no historical evidence that he massacred the firstborn children. Also reminder that angels aren't real.

This is definitely 1-3, possibly 4 and 8 too. The new christian values. 1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shall ~~not~~ have strange gods before Me. 1. Thou shall ~~not~~ take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. 1. Remember ^not to keep holy the Lord's day. 1. ^Don't Honor thy father and mother. 1. Thou shall ~~not~~ kill. 1. Thou shall ~~not~~ commit adultery. 1. Thou shall ~~not~~ steal. 1. Thou shall ~~not~~ bear false witness against thy neighbor. 1. Thou shall ~~not~~ covet thy neighbor's wife. 1. Thou shall ~~not~~ covet thy neighbor's goods. Throw in the seven cardinal sins too. Hypocrisy be thy name.

From the reading/listening I’ve done, the evangelicals know he’s not a a good Christian (or even a Christian at all), but they think they have a wolf in their corner now that can help them bring about their goals (including going after what they see as their enemies). Their goals are very long term. They think in terms of hundreds of years. They want an entirely Christian nation. Laws, education, and lifestyles rooted in and governed by (their interpretation of) Christian values. In other words, Christian nationalism. Some go even further, thinking he’ll bring about Armageddon by starting a war with Iran. I started seeing news articles about this back before the pandemic. Now he’s started it. I sometimes wonder if they quietly accept he is the antichrist, and are rooting for his ascension in order to bring about the end times that they want so badly. Point being, they don’t care about hypocrisy, and you’ll never get them to change their mind by pointing it out. Frankly, pointing it out might make some feel stupid (if they do think he’s a good Christian), and then they see you as more of an enemy for “looking down on them,” and they dig their heels in even further.

Trump has absolutely broken 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, and if the statements in the Epstein files are true, he’s broken #5 too for a full set.

[Acts 12:21-23](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=acts%2012%3A21-23&version=NKJV) (New King James version) 21 So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. 22 And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” 23 Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.

From the article: Donald Trump compared himself to Jesus Christ during his speech at the annual White House Easter event. Trump noted that he and Jesus have been called by the same moniker - “king” - by their followers. Trump’s spiritual adviser, Paula White-Cain, also likened Donald’s life trajectory to that of Jesus at the event, telling him, “You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused.” Trump told attendees at the Easter event, “On Palm Sunday, Jesus entered Jerusalem as crowds welcomed him praise honoring him as king. They call me king now, can you believe it?” Trump said in [footage](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-Ay6bTN1yU) that has since been deleted from the White House website. Paula White-Cain, Trump’s spiritual adviser, also drew comparisons between Jesus and Donald during her remarks at the event. “Mr. President, no one has paid the price like you have paid the price. It almost cost you your life. You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It’s a familiar pattern that our lord and saviour showed us.”

I assume that "Christian" Nationalists do not understand the concept of blasphemy. Or the concept of Christianity, for that matter.
1
wyvernx02 Apr 3, 2026 +1
They don't. If they had actually read the Bible, they would know that both Jesus and Paul warned about Christians getting fooled by people like Trump.
1
A1sauc3d Apr 3, 2026 +1
They’re more heavy on the nationalism. Christianity is just a tool for control. Although, admittedly, so is the nationalism rhetoric. At the end of the day they’re both tools for personal wealth and power accumulation. Religion and nationalism are just easy topics to manipulate people with.
1
cyanescens_burn Apr 3, 2026 +1
Being a nationalist inherently means you aren’t following Christian theology.
1
Immediate_Quiet4354 Apr 3, 2026 +1
What any sane person can't understand is having spiritual advisors in politics, and in the US both parties have them.
1
zubbs99 Apr 3, 2026 +1
This Paula White-Cain lady is controversial at best. For one thing, she's closely tied to John Hagee, the apocalyptic End Times televangelist. A little bit concerning given what Trump set off in the Middle East.

WHO? WHO, exactly calls him king? Here is a non-comprehensive list of things **which are not diagnostic** but are consistent with symptoms of cognitive impairment: * tangential thinking. Rapidly jumping from topic to topic * Phonemic paraphasia. Substituting non-words, sound-alike words or mispronounced words for what he really wants to say * Loss of complexity. His speech patterns are much less complex than they were a few years ago * Confusion of identities (mixing up Biden with Obama) * Confabulation. Non deceptive false narratives. He says he met with somebody when he didn't, but is not intending to lie * Fact confusion. Swapping in countries or government agencies or forgetting basic procedure. * Diminished emotional regulation. Hair-trigger outbursts of anger. * Episodic freezing - just staring off into space for a few moments for no discernable reason * Diminished attention span. Evident in his meetings and his speeches * Posture and gait changed. He leans, shuffles, grabs for balance * Loss of motor inhibition. Remember when he just stood in one place and swayed to the music instead of going onstage and giving his speech? * Sundowner syndrome. Elderly people often pick up energy and agitation (and confusion) later in the day when the sun goes down. Common in elderly care and memory care facilities.

So he’s planning to deploy forces on Good Friday and 'resurrect' with a victory declaration by Easter Sunday? How biblically pretentious. Don't you think this 'flawless' scheme of turning a military operation into a personal stage play is a bit too detached from reality?
1
entrepenurious Apr 3, 2026 +1
perhaps he'll do for the evangelicals what he's doing for the GOP. (or maybe 'doing to' would be more precise.)
1
cyanescens_burn Apr 3, 2026 +1
Let’s not forget some of those in power want this war to lead to the return of Jesus. Of course they need to cause Armageddon first, so we’ll have that to deal with. https://www.thenation.com/article/world/trump-evangelicals-christian-nationalists-iran-israel-end-times/

Jesus f***, could you possibly be more sacrilegious and anti-christ-y please? 30% of the 'Christians' in the country still haven't figured it out yet. Maybe you could just appear with horns and a pitchfork in your next address?

AbleCap5222 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Apparently, Trump had an alternate copy of the Bible - not the actual one where Jesus said - "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here." (John 18:36) Jesus completely rejected Earthly power and basically everything Donald Trump is. You cannot be a Christian and follow this man.

1

We know he is a functional illiterate so odds are good that he never actually read the end of the Easter story Jesus was capable of self sacrifice I mean that is the entire point of the easter story. Trump is not.

This is terrifying. The man is rapidly losing control. We now have two mad men threatening the security of the world. One is killing all the Amaleks and the other has an undefined divine mandate to wreak havoc. Do we need the Lord Almighty's direct intervention or are there agencies on the earth that can restrain these men?
