But Trump has zero issues with Russia openly supporting Iran. Funny how that works.

Russia is providing intelligence to Iran to target US troops. The same US troops that were literally on their knees rolling out a red carpet for Putin. Can't make this stuff up.

Its actually even worse billionaires have so much networth that every dollar you have and ever will have gotten in your life is still less then a penny to them.
58
Working_on_Writing 1 day ago +67
If you earned $1000 *an hour* every hour of every day, it would take you over 91,000 years to accumulate as much money as Elon Musk's net worth. Just to help put in perspective the sickening amount of wealth these people hoard.
67
Spiritual-Spend8187 1 day ago +33
Yep and they still aren't happy and want more. They have enough money to not even worry about asking the price of something and want more.
33
Working_on_Writing 1 day ago +39
I subscribe to the theory that these people are mentally ill. I don't see how you can possibly keep wanting more when it's already literally impossible for you to spend all of the money you have. To reverse the numbers above, even if Elon musk spent $24,000 a *day*, he'd never run out of money. If he spent $2.4m a day, he'd still be able to live out the rest of his life never wanting for more money. I don't know about you but I think if I really put my mind to it I could maybe spend $100m, but after that I'm totally out of ideas of what to get. I'd rather use the rest to do things like end world hunger.

SignificanceJust972 1 day ago +27
Money hoarding should be considered a mental illness. Any other type of hoarding is. Instead it is looked at as a measure of success in society

If money is a tangible resource that one cannot live without, there is an argument to be made that it's also a crime against humanity.

Honestly any sane person would retire after having 100 million. Think about it with even just 5 million dollars invested at a basic 5% return you net $250,000 a year. Thats more than double what the highest earners in most countrys make by far (excluding the 1%). You could retire and spend your days reading, studying, traveling, basically doing whatever you want. Instead these fucks MUST have more. At 100 million theyd have 5 million a year in interest. God forbid they pass the torch to someone else or even just let society tax the rest for the benefit of everyone. Its not about money for these people. Its power and status.
6
saynay 1 day ago +3
I think they are just running up the score. They don't want the money because they have some need that more money will solve, but because it is the metric by which they measure success.

Russians actively involved in American service people being killed, arming Iran, acknowledged by Trump. No problem.  'US intelligence says' China is doing something they're not. Big problem.

You’re right. China is paying attention as the U.S. demonstrates and Trump brags about what the U.S. military can do. China waits as the U.S. depletes its resources and alienates its allies. China watches as the U.S. earns itself new enemies the world over. Meanwhile who knows what China is capable of? China wisely hold its cards close to its vest.
303
AK_Panda 1 day ago +134
> China wisely hold its cards close to its vest. Not really. It's engaging the largest military build up in modern history lol. The cards are on the table. They just ignore Trumps tantrums and keep building.
134
Comfortable_Tart_297 1 day ago +95
It's only so large because they're a large economy. Last I checked China spent 1.5% of gdp on defense, so proportionally it's quite little. If China were in NATO Trump would be complaining that they aren't spending enough.
95
disposableh2 1 day ago +67
I think a good thing to note is the US has rediculous contracts with companies that lobby the government, like Lockheed, Boeing, Palantir etc and do things like spending millions on crabs and steak. China is spending more on government owned entities. It may be 1.5% of their gdp but there could also be alot less wastage(and who knows if that number is even accurate in the first place)
67
NeilDeCrash 1 day ago +62
Yeah a single Tomahawk costs 2-3 million to produce. A single cruise missile produced by China for China will be a fraction of that. If you get 2 candies for 100 dollars, you spent 100 dollars. If you get 100 candies for 2 dollars, you spent 2 dollars. Its not all about money, it is what you get with that money spent.
62
jmacintosh250 20 hr ago +8
Depends: China brags about some of its lower cost Cruise missiles but they’re also less capable. Mind you I’m not saying they’re bad, I’m saying more a difference in doctrine. The US likes more expensive more capable stuff while China prefers cheaper stuff.
8
NeilDeCrash 19 hr ago +4
Chinas stockpiles are pretty much all in the dark as they have not been used in real situations, no idea how capable their arsenal is. US has been lobbing its missiles left and right for decades. Just in Iran US used 10% of its whole stockpile of Tomahawks in the first 72 hours. That is worth 5 years of building them and stockpiling, as it takes around 2 years to build 1 tomahawk from start to finish. [US uses hundreds of Tomahawk missiles on Iran, alarming some at Pentagon, WaPo reports | Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/us-uses-hundreds-tomahawk-missiles-iran-alarming-some-pentagon-wapo-reports-2026-03-27/) "The U.S. military has fired over 850 Tomahawk cruise missiles in four weeks of war with Iran, ‌burning through the precision weapons at a rate that has alarmed some Pentagon officials and prompted internal discussions about how to make more available, the Washington Post reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter." US currently builds 90 Tomahawk per year, so they used around 10 years of Tomahawk stockpiles in 4 weeks.

And the “c****” drones and rockets will be even cheaper than c****. Imagine tens of thousands of drones swarms.
5
Advanced_Goat_8342 23 hr ago +8
Yep China is the source of the numbers,so spending could be way higher, and propably is.
8
gaga666 1 day ago +16
Nobody knows how much China is spending on military. Nor can you compare military power - and, especially, military outcomes based on price tags in fiat currency which only has some (very limited) sense during peace time. When conflicts arise most important things approximately are: 1. How much will and executive power your government has to fight and to allocate resources to war. 2. How many soldiers and weapons can you mobilize and move where they're needed. 3. How large is your industrial capacity. 4. How fast your industry can adapt to the course of the war. 5. How many weapons you have in your stockpile. I could come up with another couple of dozens of points, and only after that would I add "how large is you peace time spending as % of GDP". When you want to count some dollars, remember that Ukraine's military spending was _at least_ an order of magnitude lower than Russia's.
16

Something that we're rapidly learning is that just because we spend a lot on the military doesn't mean it's a better result.

Anybody else notice that when it's China, it's just China said, or when it's Pakistan it's just Pakistan said or when it's Iran, It's just Iran said but when its US, it's just Trump said. Does the highest elected official of a country not speak for the whole country. If that's the case do we need to start making distinctions about who says what from what country and what role they play in that country? I can't be the only one who thinks this style of news reporting is misleading, right?

I have noticed on Democrat leaning subs, there is this attempt to pretend Trump is not representing the US.  I had one commenter suggest Trump doesn't represent them as he "stole" the election through a fake assassination attempt, and getting billionaires to glaze him in the media. Like not even suggesting there was electoral fraud, just saying the election was illegitimate because i guess voters have no capacity for autonomous thinking and therefore can't be held responsible for blindly following narratives? And i got downvoted for pointing out how f****** ridiculous that argument is.
10
Blatheringman 1 day ago +6
I imagine it sounds a bit more like this "USA threatens retaliation if China offers aid to Iran".
6
Samceleste 1 day ago +22
But countries speak in diplomatic langage. No country says "big problem" as a threat, because it is void of sense, and just child talk. Trump is babbling when other countries are speaking. As Americans chose to give their country the voice of a toddler, they can't expect to be taken as seriously as adults in an adult world.
22
de-dododo-de-dadada 1 day ago +4
Because Xi rarely makes open public statements like Trump does and never holds press conferences etc, or if he does they never make international news. Most official Chinese statements are made by military or foreign ministry officials on behalf of the CCP ,plus there's also the pseudo-Communist attitude where presumably it would be unseemly for a single person, even the Chairman, to make their own statements rather than 'the party' or 'the state.' Putin does quite a few interviews and the like so it's quite often "Putin says" rather than "Russia says," however. There's also the argument that not many people know the names of, say, the Russian-installed governor of Crimea or the Iranian parliamentary speaker, so it's easier to just say the country name rather than explain who these relatively unknown entities are in the confines of a brief headline ('US official says xyz' rather than 'HUD Secretary Scott Turner says xyz...' for instance).

What? He now wants a tussle with China? It’s time for him and his shit stained administration to GO! Where is Congress?! Why isn’t this being dealt with?! The only explanation is that the entire government is cooked, and the country is over. We don’t live in a democracy anymore. This is a f****** sick joke, wrapped in a daily nightmare that just keeps repeating itself over and over, day after day after day after day… It’s so nauseating I want to puke. US has used a decades worth of ammunition production in a month, they are in no position to fight any military that can fight back, the labour and production capacity isn't there to rebuild it in a rush. Trump called NATO a paper tiger well, the US is a glass cannon. And now the US is operating a full fat military trying to dictate to the world, while having no ammunition to actually utilize it at crunch time should someone actually challenge them... After Iran it'll be small targets with limited military capabilities, further using up the limited supplies meant to replenish it - whoever comes into office after his regime ends, will have little more than a Trump branded shell of what the country once was. Remember when Trump said Biden etc depleted the military? - Standard Trump 'Every accusation is a confession' moment.

Trump/Vance and the entire MAGA are just digging themselves in a bigger hole every day, they’re just threatening and starting fights with everyone and their stick looks smaller and smaller by the day. Fading so-called "global superopower" is threatening the actual superpower after pitifully losing a self-started war. Yeah we’ll see how well that goes. Beijing is probably rolling on the floor laughing themselves stupid right now.

They'll have the big problems, the biggest problems of problems. Trump knows all about the problems, he makes the best problems

endless war. may not want it, but you are getting it whether you want it or not. why do you think they have started automatically registering men for the draft? just remember…. Trump Did This not Biden, Trump. Everything Trump touches dies. He openly says our soldiers are suckers and losers. And MAGA went out and voted for him anyway.

Nobody is buying this shit, lol. China is the world's superpower now. China spends all their money on infrastructure and defense. America can't touch China.

China has been meaningfully silent during most of this, why is Trump bringing them up?
8
Mort-i-Fied 1 day ago +11
Because the idiot mistakes silence for weakness.

Candid_Cat_5921 1 day ago +9
They already have. Intelligence showed shipments of drones and also Chinese vessels at Iranian ports unloading who knows what. Given how threatening Trump is towards China over this, my guess is they probably already armed Iran with anti-ship missiles.

Get. Out. It's a trap.  Leave some troops in the Gulf nations to prevent an Iranian counterattack and then end it.  The situation is not improving as day turns into day.

As if he cares about China. If hes attacking China, its about destroying America. We can barely handle the issues hes already made. Why would he create more problems, especially ones we cant handle if it isnt about destroying the country?
3

After the crushing defeat in front of Iran, I am not sure he can threaten China. Also his best friend Vladimir… is supporting Iran, no word about that

I don't know what the Republicans endgame is, but I don't think pissing on China has many benefits for the US...

Big problems for USA more like if they mess with China. They can't even build there 'smart' weapons without the raw materials from China.

The mindless MAGA cult would literally allow this mad old b****** to f*** up the entire world, even allowing Putin's Russia to f*** them in the ass, just so they can claim to own the Democrats & whichever group who hurt their feelings, unironically. Sad sad bunch of people. Nevermind the millionaires, and billionaires as they are out of our reach, but the common people who are die hard MAGA cult supporters are by far the greatest cucklords of all time.

If China decides to stop allowing American companies to utilize Chinese slave labor, will production finally come back to America? Or will the American "Elites" just find a new slave labor force?

China has aggressively prepared for economic retailation against the USA since Trump began his tariff wars. China has systematically expanded its economic resilience and retaliatory capabilities to insulate against US threats and strike back if a conflict erupts.  Xi vs Trump? Ugotabkidnme.

Orange man threatens? Like its something new? China 500% tariffs never happened. Like it will be now.
2
spidereater 1 day ago +2
Oh god. He’s going to start something with China isn’t he? Like, something hot. China is going to take Taiwan as retaliation and refuse to sell chips to anyone doing business with America. Nobody will be able to argue that it is unreasonable. You know how people argue where over the course of 1500 years the Roman Empire ended? Americas decline and fall will be so fast and complete the range off dates will be November 2016- maybe 2027.
