Trump threatens to destroy Iran bridges and power plants, saying its government 'knows what has to be done'
The threat comes a day after he said in a nationwide address that the U.S. military will be hitting Tehran "extremely hard" for the next two or three weeks.

The images show parts of a downed F15, not a 35

Gadshill Apr 3, 2026 +1
They also claim to have hit a F-15.

gueri66 Apr 3, 2026 +1
We can't identify it, we need more "proofs".

Isn’t it Easter?

Hieroflippant Apr 3, 2026 +1
Just a lovely little American Easter demolition of civilian infrastructure

Destroying all the bridges before a ground invasion? That's brilliant! /s
1
Few_Parkings Apr 3, 2026 +1
So we do not have real evidence that a F-35 was shot down besides some pictures showing some scrap metal?
1
dscreations Apr 3, 2026 +1
It's not an F-35. People have identified the wreckage in the pics as potentially belonging to an F-15E from the 494th Fighter Squadron based on the markings

Sreg32 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Still. Didn’t Trump say air superiority earlier?
1
F4ntasticPants Apr 3, 2026 +1
Air superiority just means you mostly have control of the airspace, which they do, as the Iranians can't fly.
1
ViciousNakedMoleRat Apr 3, 2026 +1
Air superiority is not air supremacy. The latter means the enemy has no reliable means to interfere with your flight operations.
1
Slickbeat Apr 3, 2026 +1
Iran can’t keep planes in the air.
1
Jerry-Beans Apr 3, 2026 +1
Losing Anything substantial debunks the entire idea that the airspace has been secured.

Royal-Hunter3892 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Losing a F35 wouldn't be a problem for US , but losing potential export orders and customers would be a big problem for US military industrial complex.
1
fsactual Apr 3, 2026 +1
Losing an F35 would be HUGE, and not just for the potential orders. It would also mean the technology is already defeated, and by something relatively unsophisticated, which means trillions have been wasted. That’s decades of American’s healthcare and infrastructure, poof, gone, traded for nothing, not even magic beans. If weaponized politically by a savvy propagandist that kind of debacle could conceivably collapse the current administration, and maybe even spark civil unrest depending on how bad the situation is.
1
Lundetangen Apr 3, 2026 +1
Dont think anyone that bought F-35s believed they could never be hit by anything.
1
Sreg32 Apr 3, 2026 +1
I guarantee that’s already happening. Need Europe to ramp up. That’ll be a huge cost to the US military lobby group
1
Royal-Hunter3892 Apr 3, 2026 +1
With Europe they can atleast manage because US can put pressure by blocking spare parts to existing aircraft Europe operates. The real deal would be new regions and new potential customers nations. They will have to use additional pressure and political coercion or bribing them to sell these aircrafts.
1
Sreg32 Apr 3, 2026 +1
There’s always new customers. Having the US being an unstable allie, doesn’t help the sales pitch. Then Trumps comments about a kill switch…btw, downvotes are meaningless

Adding some more war crimes to the resume. Nice.

So S-300s can bring down an F-35 over Iran but not over Venezuela? How does that work?
1
Diamondangel82 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Given enough time, Eventually you get lucky. In Venezuela it was a complete surprise. The surprise is over in Iran, the IRGC know they are up there, the rest is a combination of luck and incompetence.
1
jared555 Apr 3, 2026 +1
And they have had time to study their operations in combat use now.
1
Rootspam Apr 3, 2026 +1
There's no actual proof that an F35 was shot down, but air defense systems aren't fully automated, they still need competent crews to man them.
1
Sad_Prawn2864 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Easy, the Venezuela operation was a coordinated inside job sold to the American people as the 6th Rambo movie for political gain. Basically, Delcy and her brother, who currently run Venezuela, sold out Maduro and the US just had to deal with his inner group of guards, they faced no other oposition.
1
Foreign-Chocolate86 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Lots of rumours pretty much immediately after Maduro’s kidnapping that Delcy sold him out to Trump.

CBT7commander Apr 3, 2026 +1
No f35 has been shot down over Iran. There’s literally no evidence whatsoever. As a reminder, Iran claimed to have shot down 4 f35s in the first war, only for them to later confess they shot down…. 0 f35s

F-35 vs. Iran bridge: another “victory” (humor) Any suggestions for how to spend taxpayers money?
1
RobotSpaceBear Apr 3, 2026 +1
> Any suggestions for how to spend taxpayers money? Bro you could waste money on public schooling, school meals or tax-funded libraries and healthcare, that would be hilarious /s

Don't you dare suggest we help A Poor ever again
1

No, no the rules are specifically designed that no Americans shall be helped in the making of the horror movie.

waloshin Apr 3, 2026 +1
Just wait for Iran to retaliate on US soil… why wouldn’t they? Could be months, years later…
1
Morlu Apr 3, 2026 +1
Damn France straight up vetoed the UN resolution. Usually western allies would just sit back and let Russia or China do it.
1
CaptainChaos74 Apr 3, 2026 +1
US becoming more and more like Russia.
1
CMGCookie Apr 3, 2026 +1
F-35 downed? Well there goes a cool $100 million USD. Let's see, the bridge probably costs $10 million at most to rebuild. I'd say Iran got the better of that deal, huh.
1
CMGCookie Apr 3, 2026 +1
$1.5 trillion defense budget requested. And STILL Republicans refuse to ask why. No investigations. No war resolution. No cabinet subpoenas. What's going on there, not that you care. But your mortgage interest rate fees might.

jamie9910 Apr 3, 2026 +1
1. No proof an f35 was shot down. 2. Iran is in the same position Japan was in in 1945. Facing an enemy with total air superiority. Iran will be systematically dismantled and left in ruins unless they surrender. Bridges, power plants. Then it will be other critical infrastructure. While Iran has no way of hitting the US homeland.

American Zoomers not grasping the last 4 decades of Middle East conflict and always jumping to WWII will always be the funniest thing to me
1
Duanedoberman Apr 3, 2026 +1
>No proof an f35 was shot down. Not an F35, but aviation geeks have identified the tail markings as belonging to an F15 from 494th fighter squadron based at Lakenheath in the UK, currently flying from Jordan. >While Iran has no way of hitting the US homeland. Meanwhile, the cost of Petrol approaches $5 a gallon. That must be a coincidence
1
BlumbleBee123B Apr 3, 2026 +1
Fairly said… in a firmly argumentative way, hasn’t the us been driven out (at lest half(?)) from the Middle East?

So if the Pentagon plans to lose any more F-35s over Iran, well at least I can see why Trump is now asking for a cool $1.5 trillion defense budget next year, huh.
