It'll be a surprise attack.

on Kharg Island's only school
183
Prottusha1 Mar 15, 2026 +41
Girl’s school. For all the backlash against the Islamist regime for their women’s rights violations, it’s sort of ironic that a girl’s school entire student body was the first victim of the war.
41
Whatah Mar 15, 2026 -16
Wow, what if it wasn't a bad AI judgement, but rather if Russia was selecting some of our targets for us.
-16
Prottusha1 Mar 15, 2026 +42
Nah man, you cannot pass off this one to someone else. It was Hegseth’s call to remove the entire department that double-checked targets to ensure they weren’t civilians or medical facilities. Cutting corners as usual.
42
Whatah Mar 15, 2026 +6
Yea i know, sorry for posting nonsense. Things really are so fucked up.
6
Prottusha1 Mar 15, 2026 +8
No worries. We’re all at a loss for the right words in the current situation.

The puppy adoption center is no longer the primary objective.

41
StacyChadBecky Mar 15, 2026 +16
Yes. And the Iran nuclear threat was eliminated last year. But it will be eliminated again. No one expects an attack on an already destroyed target!

Put the phone in the microwave then select 2 minutes.
1
off_by_two Mar 15, 2026 +3
They dont have a strategic goal to communicate so tactics are the only thing they can talk about. And also they dont seem to understand the difference between those things
3
Countdown216 Mar 15, 2026 +1
Because we have near-complete air superiority over the region and are attacking via air strikes.
1
cardinalkgb Mar 15, 2026 +37
NBC better not report this or Brendan Carr will pull their broadcast license for fake news when Trump changes his mind.
37

So they can post "epic!" social media videos again to make it look like they're winning. The last vids were actually embarassingly bad. Tone deaf as usual.
10
Almainyny Mar 15, 2026 +1
Doing it for the epic may-mays.

In other words, we’re striking it again
6

shah_of-iran Mar 15, 2026 +3
lol, way to sane wash Trump again media. He literally said we may strike it again “just for fun”
3
mwilkens Mar 15, 2026 +3
So we're basically at this awkward point where we can destroy anything at will in Iran right now but have already destroyed every military target so unless we start really hitting civilian infrastructure we really can't do much? Leaving Iran with literally nothing to lose as they start to employ fiber-optic fpv drones against us. Looks like Trump may have picked a fight he should've let go.
3
chronoic Mar 15, 2026 +7
You would think if you won, you don't need to keep shooting missiles?
7
sanyam303 Mar 15, 2026 +3
Is the whole Island filled with kids and hospitals?🤔

It’s not America, it’s Trump.
2
Big_lt Mar 15, 2026 +2
GOP/conservatives who still stand with trump. Trump has said the following, please explain - we attacked Kharg Island and obliterated all infrastructure. We did not hit oil refineries - we may attack Kharg Island again for fun - we may strike Kharg Island again - Question 1: if everything is obliterated why are we going again? - Question 2: What on earth and why would we attack this island 'for fun'. War shouldn't be for fun Please explain your glorious leader. I'm not even bringing up where we completely obliterated their nuclear capabilities yet somehow their nuclear capabilities were a threat warranting an attack (yet somehow still now war)
2
SortSwimming5449 Mar 15, 2026 +2
“For fun.” What an idiot.
2
rapidcreek409 Mar 15, 2026 +3
As reported, the US didnt hit the oil infrestrictions of Kharg, only military positions. The jackass wants the island.

It’s the only play he’s got and he’s played it. This president has no control. What happens when countries start trading other currencies for oil? The US dollar tanks. That’s where this is headed unless something happens.
1
Stavvystav Mar 15, 2026 +1
Gotta double-tap those emergency workers! Those fools, trying to do their job knowing that Amerika's more than happy to do a war-crime or two for fun.

Sunsetmargaritas Mar 15, 2026 -2
Trump and Hegseth are going to lose the war by trying to fight it in tiny pieces. They did the first step just fine, get rid of the political leaders, generals, naval fleet and air force, but now they're just looking at each other and guessing where to hit next instead of persecuting the conflict several layers deep. That Iran has enough left to threaten the Strait of Hormuz so completely means the job wasn't completed in the first place. I have zero confidence that T&H have a clue how to finish this, so we're probably going to waffle and bomb randomly until Trump gets bored or frightened at his declining poll numbers and declares victory again and sends everyone home. Meanwhile, nothing of major consequence will have changed for the regime except who's leading Iran.
-2
chatoka1 Mar 15, 2026 +15
Except they didn’t get the political leaders, generals, or navy… Not all or enough of them, anyway
15
Sunsetmargaritas Mar 15, 2026 +3
That's the problem, Trump and Hegseth just started the process, but didn't prosecute it far enough. It's like they like playing war, but don't have a clue how to end it.
3
stedic Mar 15, 2026 +5
Smoke and mirrors are all you should expect from the racist pedophile and his cohorts of tongue wagging snakes. They deserve all the things coming to them and there legacy, in this life and the next. Edit: a word
5
Sunsetmargaritas Mar 15, 2026 +2
Agreed, but unfortunately, what they may deserve and what they get will likely be vastly different than what you expect. In the real world, these kinds of people rarely suffer real consequences.
2
stedic Mar 15, 2026 +2
What is crazy is that we can change all of this today. Organize into a transcontinental union that applies pressure similar to a lobbiest. We vote on everything that drives the cost of living down and we tax the shit out of the mega corporations and dump that funding into social programs that helped the bottom. If an elected official knew that 3 million in there riding were going to elect someone else unless they follow suit.... I would see that as a step in the right direction. Screw what's normal, f*** people who say this would never work. Those people are the reason we are in this dumpster fire of shit.
2
GoodIdea321 Mar 15, 2026 +11
The major consequence will be more people hating American involvement in everything.
11
Sunsetmargaritas Mar 15, 2026 +2
Yeah, the US doesn't get much credit when it does something right, so Trump trashing allies and cuddling up to Putin, Xi and Kim just makes it look like the US is a clueless bully that doesn't appreciate it's long-term allies. The only good news is that those allies know that everything that's happening now will change immediately and drastically after the next US election. Just like it did when Biden was elected. (Or maybe sooner if Trump is booted out of office. Though I doubt America has the stones for that.)
2
Aazadan Mar 15, 2026 +4
What allies know is that another Trump is one election away. It's in their best interest to move as much trade and diplomatic channels out of the US. That is not going to change with the next President. Nations are going to pivot for the next 20 years as they isolate the US more. At that point it will bottom out/stabilize.
4
Sunsetmargaritas Mar 15, 2026
>Nations are going to pivot for the next 20 years as they isolate the US more. You may see some of that, historically it's happened before, but allies will always come back because they understand that temporary failure is endemic of every nation at some point, and realistically, there really isn't anyone capable of being both an economic and military powerhouse the way the US is. That's the reason the dollar is still the standard for currency, the reason that the US is still the nation that most of the wealthy and professional class seek to migrate to, and why the US is basically unequaled in military strength and application. The US isn't perfect as is proved by Trump being president. But the US has one thing going for it that always brings the world back. The US never ceases trying to be better and when it falls, it gets up and tries again, often exceeding expectations in whatever arena it finds it's latest challenge. (Oh, and when the government is sane, it's usually the most dependable ally a nation could ask for.) Those that pivot away are welcome to leave. The best friends are the ones who want to be there, even when you're not perfect. The ones who leave were likely never your friends in the first place, they just wanted something from you.

Aazadan Mar 15, 2026 +1
Military power requires an economy capable of building and maintaining a navy. It also requires a global network of bases, and logistical expertise. As we're seeing in Iran, the people who were actually good at the logistics side of things were forced out. That is not easily rebuilt. The base issue is more tricky, we might lose a few here and there short term, but it will be one of the last things the US loses, particularly naval bases. Unless the US does something like betray NATO. Then it's gone instantly. Either way, don't expect military might to carry things much further because one of the key messages from Trump to Europe, is that he forced them to handle their own defense. That isn't going to get reversed with a US administration change.
1
political-bureau Mar 15, 2026 +5
Getting rid of political leaders was the first mistake. Trump should have taken the deal.
