They’re going to play him like the most basic simple game imaginable. Flattery and praise. He’ll rave about how much Xi loves him and how he got China to give him just what he wanted
1642
Initial_E May 11, 2026 +266
The problem isn’t to coddle him, it’s to prevent the other guy from coddling him afterwards.

DeeperMadness May 11, 2026 +36
How big do you think the gold trophy will be this time?
36
hbtljose13 May 11, 2026 +12
China gonna build him a new island with his tacky Home Depot ornaments
12
LessCockroach7323 May 11, 2026 +39
Can't agree enough. But on the other side Trump will make everything to get some deals for his family
39
Amoralvirus May 11, 2026 +2
Trump will have both hands out in a sign of ............ complete openeness to personal interest and grift, well above national interest. Well, to be accurate the orange turd in chief, trump, probably believes his interest is the national interest.
2
HolyLiaison May 11, 2026 +23
Maybe they can convince him to allow those nice c**** Chinese EV's over here. Cut them a deal to make manufacturing plants here like we have with South Korea. Na who am I kidding.. he'd never do that.
23
waloshin May 12, 2026 +2
They would t be c**** manufactured in America…
2
Rowing_Lawyer May 12, 2026 +2
He’s bringing Elon with him so there’s zero chance his owner, Elon, would allow that.
2
RealPropRandy May 11, 2026 +6
Spoilers much?
6
Little_View_6659 May 11, 2026 +8
McDonald’s?
8
nelsonalgrencametome May 11, 2026 +3
Might be kinda fun if they played hard ball to his face for a change though.
3
Yungbromantic May 12, 2026 +3
It would be great if somebody did that. I’d love for him to be absolutely embarrassed like he deserves.
3
Coolbanh May 11, 2026 +3
Yeah this is most likely. Hes gonna be singing praises and start doing things to please them.
3
secretlyjudging May 11, 2026 +3
They’re totally going to give him a trophy. Another photo op of the of the fat kid in school getting an undeserved mantle piece.
3
AngryTomato027 May 11, 2026 +628
My guess is that China will treat him with great hospitality and then he is gonna leave empty handed, after years of sanctions and tariff war, there are no more things the Chinese fear or need from him … at this point
628
K_R_A_K_E_N_540 May 11, 2026 +256
The Chinese probably want to thank Trump for all they did for them with his "diplomacy" lol
256
JohnOfA May 11, 2026 +85
Exactly. Trump has sabotaged the US economy more than China ever could. I hope they take Trump to all the coal mines and tout the advantages of coal.
85
Troyabedinthemornin May 11, 2026 +12
Reminds me of this quote, “Trump is an excellent nation builder… for China”
12
JohnOfA May 12, 2026 +2
He has done wonders for bringing Canadians closer together too.
2
TianamenHomer May 11, 2026 +2
Will give him more Trump phones to sell. All with hacked chips.
2
Impressive-Potato May 11, 2026 +3
The best thing they could do is pretend to be intimidated and pretend they hate what he is doing so he continues on.
3
Anomuumi May 11, 2026 +127
I think the Chinese do not want Trump's attention, so they will mostly just flatter him and give him something shiny, so he can move on and continue f****** up everything elsewhere. They have quite literally had to do nothing than just watch Trump burn the U.S. alliances built over multiple decades.
127
CamiloArturo May 11, 2026 +24
Exactly. They'll give him the "Great Red Gold Award" which probably is a lead oyster shaped thing with gold paint on, he will brwg about receiving it, saying Xo told him he was the bestest president ever, and that he was going to partner to bring Chinese EVs to America and thats about it. He has done so poorly ok diplomacy, China really doesn't need to persuade him to do anything. On the contrary, I'm sure they will make an effort not to change anything he's been doing
24
Defiant-Peace-493 May 11, 2026 +11
Huh. [The PRC hadn't favored the idea of medals until this century](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orders,_decorations,_and_medals_of_China), although a couple items date back to the 1950s. The medal that would be most plausible for a foreign potentate would be the Friendship Medal: >Foreigners who have made outstanding contributions to China's socialist modernization drive, the promotion of Sino-foreign exchanges and cooperation, and the maintenance of world peace P.S. The Titles of Nobility Amendment was not ratified by enough states, *but* unlike many later amendments the text did not include a deadline. It would need 26 more ratifications, though.
11
Flamebrush May 11, 2026 +5
"And the maintenance of world peace..." I guess the shiny gift bauble won't be that medal.
5
itsatumbleweed May 11, 2026 +5
China is going to be everyone's new best friend global superpower. Trump gifted that to them. They aren't going to get in the way.
5
petrucci666 May 11, 2026 +1
one might argue that they had a hand in setting up the pieces that put us in this position, and now they are just sitting back and watching it all unfold (as they, for the most part, probably predicted)
1
Great-Ad-4416 May 11, 2026 +5
Fat chance that would happen. Thats how he was treated first time and then slapped with gigantic tariff. Rumour has that they agreed on many things in private but on the return trip, the secretary talk him into taking the strong stand, and then the rest is history.
5
Jagermonsta May 11, 2026 +3
I’m sure there will be a lucrative deal for some business venture his family is involved in. Won’t be squat for Americans but Trump will find a way to still line his pockets.
3
DestinyJackolz May 11, 2026 +2
Maybe they’ll toot his horn enough to get Chinese EVs in the states, or at least the 100% tariff removed
2
secretlyjudging May 11, 2026 +1
China is going to thank Trump for spending a trillion USD every couple of months. Sapping America’s strength like this is China’s wet dream. The next best to destroying military hardware and people is to destroy a country’s ability to run them.
1
Uvn7dSIQ0I1oZexLYqtK May 11, 2026 +147
He is going to get the shit kicked out of him. And he will have no idea what happened.
147
tidepill May 11, 2026 +81
He's going to think he got the best deal ever. They'll give him a gold dragon statue or some emperor robes or some shit.
81
Uvn7dSIQ0I1oZexLYqtK May 11, 2026 +20
This has been happening for hundreds of years. China has known how to handle foreigners for a long time...I'm sure Trump knows all about Lord McCartney
20
Tsquare43 May 11, 2026 +6
Whatever they give him will likely be bugged, too.
6
Uvn7dSIQ0I1oZexLYqtK May 11, 2026 +6
They only bug the very best people.
6
schlitz91 May 11, 2026 +10
They should plan 72hrs of appointments and watch him physically crumble.
10
Mr_ToDo May 11, 2026 +3
Financially? Because I'd be shocked if their trade hasn't skyrocketed from all his antics "Ah, Mr Trump sir. Thank you for helping us move manufacturing and R&D in country. We're making strides so much faster now that we don't spend so much time trying to sneak things across the border"
3
BaconJacobs May 12, 2026 +1
Don't forget the sundowning in the middle of the day!

Careful Donny, China has the Death Penalty for Pedo's, they might wish to make an example.

If this was possible, I'd fall asleep with a smile on my face and might even become religious

150
EltonBeans May 11, 2026 +81
I doubt China wants to keep him

vonGlick May 11, 2026 +77
They want him in Washington. They couldn't dream of more incompetent adversary.
77
RenoXIII May 11, 2026 +19
He's halfway to looking like a Terracotta soldier anyway, just leave him there, no one will know the difference.
19
silvusx May 11, 2026 +12
The bronze look is true, but he is gonna need to lose more weight!
12
littlest_dragon May 11, 2026 +5
It’s a pretty long journey for a man of his age and health. I hope he doesn’t exert himself too much.
5
Freak_on_Fire May 11, 2026 +33
Can't wait to hear Trump once again reveal his deep knowledge of Chinese and world history.

If you follow Chinese social media, they make fun of the U.S. for having a comedy show in the whitehouse.
78
Shittalking_mushroom May 11, 2026 +65
Everyone does, look at the comments here for example.
65
axelkoffel May 11, 2026 +13
So like entire world? I wonder do Americans realize that they're such a laughing stock under Trump.

Would be great if they imprisoned him.
29
Dragons_Malk May 11, 2026 +1
What if he keeps over while visiting? And then the cultists start spinning a yarn about how they did him in and try to start a war.  No, that's too crazy. Right?

3 days ? I doubt he will remember in the evening what he said in the morning .
8
otherwisepandemonium May 11, 2026 +15
Trump is going to get played like a fiddle lol. Trump handed the future to China and the only outcome will be Xi getting exactly what he needs and Trump thinking he made some kind of deal in his benefit.
15
WaffleHouseGladiator May 11, 2026 +7
He should go to a wet market and sample so local delicacies.

That is two long flights in a very short time. And every time he comes back from international trips, his aging/exhaustion seems to accelerate…🍿

Talk about f****** weak. Even Newsom got the Chinese to come to him. The entire world laughs at that joke in the White House.
6
OneNormalBloke May 11, 2026 +9
Xi will not be cowed by the orange megalomaniac like other world leaders and will give it to him with both barrels, fully loaded.
9
Meta2048 May 11, 2026 +44
Xi will flatter him and manipulate him into giving China whatever it wants.  Xi isn't dumb like Trump.
44
vonGlick May 11, 2026 +12
Trump believes Xi is his friend and was already manipulated by him on number of occasions. COVID and ZTE cases comes to mind as examples
12
Pokemon_Name_Rater May 11, 2026 +1
No, he won't. Even when China does put the pressure on other countries, it's almost always through their diplomats and spokespeople, not Xi.

"Beijing — The People’s Republic of China has formally denied entry to United States President Donald J. Trump following a review conducted by relevant administrative and public-security authorities. According to ministry officials, the decision was influenced in part by recently reviewed unreleased materials associated with the Jeffrey Epstein investigations. Authorities stated that, while no formal legal determination was being asserted by the Chinese government, the contents were deemed “deeply inconsistent with current national campaigns concerning the protection of minors and public moral standards.” A ministry spokesperson stated: > The spokesperson declined to elaborate further on the contents of the reviewed materials, citing “international sensitivity and ongoing foreign legal matters.” Additional concerns reportedly included disagreements over proposed security arrangements involving gold-colored motorcades. Officials emphasized that the decision should not be interpreted as hostility toward the American people, adding that bilateral relations remain “important, stable, and occasionally exhausting.” No further comment will be provided at this time." Its on my bingo card. It would just be too funny:D
2
obxhead May 11, 2026 +2
If he actually goes. It’s a long flight. Last week he couldn’t even be bothered to walk down the stairs for a scheduled press photo op with leadership from Brazil. I’ll be shocked if this trip happens.
2
EdiblePeasant May 13, 2026 +1
No, I think Trump has been looking forward to this meeting and I thought that awhile back. I don't think he would miss it for the world unless there's something I'm not seeing. He probably has a deference, respect, and even admiration for Xi and a few others. I don't know if he just considers them "strong", others "weak", as a model or whatever. Maybe others, like the Brazil leadership, not so much. If my read is correct, then it's unfortunate to me. I prefer showing everyone, especially one's traditional allies, respect. This wider draw to power and "strongmen" people may have is uncomfortable for me. I also have what I feel are personal and religious reasons/interpretation for my stance. I hope the meeting leads to some mutually good things for both countries and especially the U.S., but I'm skeptical.
1
obxhead May 13, 2026 +1
Yeah, he will clearly go. He’s desperate for Xi to bail him out of this mess in Iran. HopefullyXi explains how declaring victory, removing the blockade and bringing the ships and troops home is just like bankruptcy. All the best presidents do this one simple trick.
1
Mm2k May 11, 2026 +2
He’s upset that Canada is friendly with China now.
2
Epistatious May 11, 2026 +2
last time he worked hard and got special deals for his daughter and family, but this time maybe he'll negotiate with the whole country in mind? who re-elected this dumb thief?
2
EvilBill515 May 11, 2026 +2
So Washington DC will be relatively nice when I visit during that time. We'll that is excellent news. Ol' Stinkbag will be out of town. Maybe we can change the locks on the White House while he is gone?
2
Tinnie_and_Cusie May 11, 2026 +2
Can they keep him, please?

1
SweetCosmicPope May 11, 2026 +1
I heard word a few weeks back that one of the talking points is expected to be the Chinese electric auto industry. Ford has supposedly been working with one of the Chinese manufacturers (probably BYD) on some kind of partnership, so these talks could open that up a bit more and we could start seeing those cars in the states before too long, if Xi butters up Trump properly.
1
obxhead May 11, 2026 +1
BYD has made it clear they don’t need the American market. They are in a position of power on any trade deals allowing them access to US markets.
1
Electronic_Company64 May 11, 2026 +1
Maybe we could trade him for one of those electric cars…… or a couple of fortune cookies
1
Nono_Home May 11, 2026 +1
Dear Chinese people, please please please I beg you, keep te senile demented supreme wannabe dictator and lock him up with an excuse like you normally do with pedophiles. After his trial you may punish him in accordance with your laws. Thank you and forever in debt xxx.

Hey guys, relax, don't worry, trump will behave himself well, because as well all know, trump respects strong dictators; it's almost like he aspires to be one himself.
1
EdiblePeasant May 11, 2026 +1
If this doesn’t end with Trump madly falling in love with Xi, I’ll be disappointed while at the same time hoping that doesn’t happen.
1
MyFirstCarWasA_Vega May 11, 2026 +1
Once Xi interacts with him in person and sees the actual quality of the person who is our president the next two and a half years, he’s tripling down on all his initiatives and knows he no longer even needs to think of America as a real competitor any more. Please have little Stephen Wingnut write him a note and say he cannot come because he has a club championship that he simply must cheat at and win, and just can’t make it. So sorry Xi. It’s borderline treason sending Trump anywhere on any diplomatic mission. He’s pathetically unqualified.

1

He'll come away dazzled by a display of robotic acrobatics and drone coordination, declare some sort of shitvestment venture that his sons will spearhead, and then somehow, China will make away with cheaper US crops. Throw it all on Kalshi.
