This shouldn't be a surprise. It seems like Trump and the MAGA folks get off on human suffering.

Our culture rewards sociopathic behaviors. The people who rise to the top of major companies have to be absolutely ruthless in the pursuit of profit to get there, regardless of how many people they hurt along the way.

Case in point: I'm literally reading this on my lunch break. I'm in the middle of writing a profile on a businessperson. One of his friends actually said, "He spent more time \[at the company\] than he did with his family." This was presented as a compliment.
All I could do was shake my head.

Corpobrain is a real thing, it just got a nice coat of paint from the Big Tech pretending they care about their employees by offering nap pods and ping-pong tables for Synergy™.
> "He spent more time [at the company] than he did with his family."
If you have time and/or urbex is your fancy, [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjQ2PAgUcM8) has some interspersed PR nuggets that IBM did up back in the day, peak-corpo. Buncha people walking by a sterile wall in 90s shoulder-pad business suits, the building design team was similarly corpo-brained (one 10x8 photo every 16 feet down a depressing single-file hallway is \*chef's kiss\* "art engagement").
But listen to the messaging IBM was going with, these Cool, Fancy, Fun™ retreats were about family... your corporate family. Spend a weekend away from your ~~real~~ family at 𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓯𝓪𝓶𝓲𝓵𝔂.

The interesting thing was that the guy I was actually profiling said that time spent away from his family was a devil's bargain. I thought it was interesting the other guy couldn't recognize that.

Hey MAGA cult, he sees you as an NPC. Your “blue-haired” neighbor recognizes you as human. He doesn’t.

To be fair, most of America does, too. That’s why all the media coverage is about oil prices. When it’s just people getting killed, we don’t care.

Not surprising considering that's how he's treated the governance of our nation.

I don't think so.
He treats war as tool in his tool box for pain, inconvenience, hindrance, to others; in short childish form of control.
Classic narcissistic personality:
"Look at the pain I can inflict at a whim on you. Look at the scale of a mess I am willing to put you, and any bystander, all through. I don't even care about the discomfort for me, I know very well you suffer much more. You'd better please me when I ask something, better yet, preemptively anticipates what will please me. You should all be so thankful, you ungrateful bunch for the good I bestow upon you by not making your life even more miserable. I stop WWIII every morning by not blowing up this place, and you don't even say thank you."
"Bow before me or I take my phone and send your economy on a ride just with the right worded tweet".
Overall it has very little to do with Greenland, Venezuela or Iran per say. Oil is only the fulcrum of his tantrum.

This is a cultural phenomenon.
He is the worst, because he is in command of the military, and cheapens things the most.
However, every podcast about news and politics cracks jokes and mockery about warfare.
Our society needs to address this.

People like him stay horny over those old ridiculous war movies where a half naked muscular, sweaty action “hero” goes on a one man rampage killing lots of brown people.
