Trump Unleashes Furious Rant Over Wall Street Journal Claim That Iran ‘Takes Him For a Sucker’

I heard that he only sees specially curated footage of the war and sometimes just AI videos of explosions. They can't give him too much real Intel cause he will just blurt it out. And they can't show him anything going wrong because he will throw a tantrum.

Yeah but honestly reaching out to provoke an enraged delusional narcissist with that much power isn't a great move. As frustrating as it is to pick off his base one by one is - more articles should be appealing to things they understand (conceding that his base doesn't read WSJ although his backers might)

The straight is international water which no country can claim control of. Trump has implicitly given them control of something they didn't have before. He's now also talking about giving them $20B to buy their enriched uranium (an offer they rejected).

The leverage of credibility?

That his threats mean anything. The Trump Administration is learning a lesson that the rest of us learned during Millennium Challenge 2002; that while we can bomb the shit out of Iran, we really don't have any capacity to prevent them from shutting down the Strait of Hormuz. Until a couple of months ago, these were theoretical war gamed scenarios, but one that responsible adults understood were close enough to reality that they never really fucked with the situation. Some idiot decided to f*** with the situation, and allowed Iran to demonstrate that they're capable of stopping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, and there's nothing the US can do about it but stomp their feet and ask the Iranians to open it, which is where we're at now. At some point the Trump administration realizes that they have very little leverage left to manipulate this situation. They likely already have. After a bunch of posturing, they will announce some kind of "deal" and call it victory, but the math is already out there- Iran can shut down the Strait of Hormuz whenever they like.

In the states it will. I think the market are soft reacting short term to his statements, but will unfortunately adjust long term. Especially now if Trump just leaves this situation at a ceasefire and the strait stays closed. I'm sorry for our actual allies who have to deal with Temu Mussolini..

Yes, because markets are still pricing in a big chance of the strait getting open soon. This assumed probability will be gradually getting lower, until the strait gets either open or indefinitely closed.

One big fraud got conned by other frauds.  He's also choosing to surround himself with more frauds.  If he thinks it might make him money and/or pull up his ratings, he'd listen to North Korea.  No idea what they would talk about though - probably how to scam the entire world together?
