He will bail and when exactly what you've predicted happens he will blame it on all the other countries for failing. Trump literally said he's destroyed all Iran's military capabilities and they have nothing left. He's basically saying it's a cake walk for other counties to reopen the strait. It's his business as usual way of doing things when something fails blame someone else.

I think people underestimate how much a clusterfuck the USD would be after losing the petrodollar status. There would be nothing backing it up, the US has lost the trust of all allies (EU, Canada, gulf), and the debt is increasing exponentially. Yes trump will probably leave in 2 years, but his 2nd term proved that the US might elect a person that backs off from all agreements and start wars based on a whim (driven by a certain other entity ofc, and some files that we still haven't forgotten).

Highly doubt they'll use dollars if Iran gets to do this. They could probably use yuan more since China doesn't have them sanctioned.

Oh, it gets better than that. What Iran can do is they can charge that toll but only for oil headed to the US, or only for oil in a certain currency… They could literally ruin the Petro dollar! They could make everyone pay in a different currency…. THAT would be a master move

Honestly, if we're talking $1 per barrel then yes, lets just pay the toll. We pay tolls for other stuff and other places all the time. No sane European country will go in with military force over a $1 a barrel toll. This might backfire spectacularly for Trump when everyone just decides to solve this issue diplomatically by paying Iran.

In 2016 Hillary Clinton got more votes than Trump. We are a failure as a democracy and we'll need constitutional reform to prevent the next Trump. Assuming we make it that far. EDIT: Clinton received 3 million more votes than Trump in 2016. So she won by 2.1% of the vote. The electoral college system is responsible for this anti-democratic result. In 2024 Trump won with 1.5% of the vote.

You know what, I *am* tired of living through historical events and being some schlub on an island in the southern pacific ocean that can do nothing about any of it. Even if a video came out of him raping and murdering a group of babies that then somehow survived and became adults who testified, it wouldn’t matter. He would not get impeached or resign. He would pardon himself and continue as normal, with much of the country still supporting him

Idk why people think the files matter? We’ve already seen that the people with the power to currently do anything won’t do it. Maybe in the next administration if it’s blue or after midterms. However if new evidence came out today of him doing something worse than the others he’d pardon himself and not resign. The senate or congress will not impeach him. They didn’t for any of the horrible stuff we’ve heard already. What makes Israel’s blackmail different?

Charges were dropped for various reasons. If the statutes of limitations haven't run out, prosecutors might be able to start over, but I don't think there is a process that was paused in a way that it can just be resumed. It's possible that fresh charges related to his blatant corruption could be filed.
