Yeah, because the beautiful part was always the cruelty. Its hitting their own voters hardest and theyre still cheering for it.

I'm sure they are still blaming Obama/Hillary/Biden/Immigrants/Blacks/Gays instead. They always have a boogeyman.

Spam_Hand Mar 25, 2026 +101
At least with gas prices in particular, it doesnt seem like they are. At least not directly. Some still blame Obamas Iran deal from the past for how we got here though
101
Other_Beat8859 Mar 25, 2026 +144
They are. My MAGA aunt went on a rant to me about how the Jews and Israel are the cause of the gas prices and that they assassinated Charlie Kirk because he was going to be the next president and that Trump is only in the war due to being afraid of them. The excuses these people bring up are f****** ridiculous.
144
BrianWonderful Mar 25, 2026 +52
Well, she's not totally wrong on Israel being responsible for oil prices. It is extremely likely that Netanyahu convinced Trump to go along with attacking Iran alongside them.
52
Other_Beat8859 Mar 25, 2026 +27
She is right about Israel, but she quite literally was acting like Trump was forced to go into this war and it's not his fault at all because he's scared he's gonna be assassinated. She also thinks that every jew in the world is involved with Israel and are secretly Mossad agents. It's sad to see.

Yes, but the USA is a big boy, supposedly able to make own decisions.
6
Otherwise_Stable_925 Mar 25, 2026 +24
Kirk debated college students and didn't air the videos where he lost. Nobody would have even known who he was if that hadn't happened.
24
sheba716 Mar 25, 2026 +23
I saw Kirk's last debate and giving flippant condescending answers is not debating.
23
Otherwise_Stable_925 Mar 25, 2026 +15
Yep, he was good at shouting people down. That makes for good television in this era but that's not how you debate people.
15
VonSkullenheim Mar 26, 2026 +1
Yup, he could win arguments against 19 year olds that weren't prepped or had the debate experience to counter his fallacious tactics. He had a debate at Cambridge University not long before he died and literally every single person clowned on him easily.
1
Wowabox Mar 25, 2026 +4
I agree but look into weird stuff he was assigned to like an Air Force advisory board. There is a plausible theory that the heritage foundation was grooming him to run for office in a couple years. Also even stranger is his wife is now on all those boards something is up with that.

The return of that word is one of the most successful right wing online ops in the past decade. I fully expect to start having the f- word flung at me with regularity next.

Cognitive dissonance literally makes your brain panic and causes pain. Their shitty little brains are trying to protect themselves so hard that they've built up a shell of make-believe.

California is a disaster do you see how high their gas prices are? Also a trans child didn’t commit suicide so that the reason Trump started a war that’s bankrupting my business.
5
Z0mbiejay Mar 25, 2026 +4
No they're going "but mah gas under Biden was more expensive" Doesn't matter that the cost at the pump over doubled in a matter of weeks
4
SpaceGangsta Mar 25, 2026 +3
The irony is that Trump‘s 15 point peace plan is just Obama’s deal that he canceled.
3
Abi1i Mar 25, 2026 +3
What’s weird is some of the key parts from the 15-point plan from the US to Iran has a lot of similarities to the original deal made with Iran during the Obama administration and it even had other countries too.
3

14
HoosierHoser44 Mar 25, 2026 +8
Well, riddle me this. The Dow was over $50,000. Then I saw a trans person use the bathroom. I mean, they went about it in peace and didn’t talk to anyone, but I watched them, it was disgusting. Now the Dow is less than $50,000. What else caused it then? Checkmate liberals.

They don't realize that when their lives improve it is during the democratic president's term and chalk it up to the Republican efforts, when it's the other way around. Republicans always spend their term ruining everything leaving it all for Democrats to fix.

18

They believe (erroneously) that in the long term these actions will create more jobs, higher paying jobs, and lower costs. So, a temporary cost increase for lower costs and jobs in the future. It is bullshit, and they have 0 understanding of economics, but it is what they believe.
14
ArenSteele Mar 25, 2026 +11
No they don’t. They believe this pain hurts people they don’t like. They will literally eat a bowl of dog shit if they think a liberal would have to smell their breath. They are THAT broken

There is no way any Maglodyte is that nuanced in their thinking. More like “Trump say throw poop at wrinkle brain, Me like when other tribe hurt.” They are all a lost cause. We should pay no mind to them and just move on. They have zero critical thinking skills.

76% of red states depend on federal subsidies. Comprising an avg of 25% of states revenue. 80% of all fed dollars go to red states. 74% of recipients, white. Mismanaged republican states, now controlling all 3 branches and mismanaging federal budget. Yet, national deficit still increased 8 trillion due to B.B.B.

Unrelated, but it drives me f****** crazy that BBB went from Build Back Better to Big Shitty Bill and no one seems to care to acknowledge it. I cant help but feel like it was a direct attack on Bidens campaign agenda every time I see it, and they instead forced him into calling his bill "Bipartisan"...

After the ACA went into effect, a young Republican was able to get health care and see a doctor for a checkup for free. That checkup caught an early stage cancer that could eventually have been fatal. Because it was caught early it was treated and the guy was ok. Even after the ACA saved his life he still hated the ACA because it meant that Black/Brown people could get medical care.

Imagine passing a budget that increases the deficit by $2T and still needing to cut spending. Then pretending to be against waste, fraud, and abuse.
226
Inner_Swordfish7475 Mar 25, 2026 +88
This is what gets me. Trump increased the deficit in his first term too. Yet, the Republicans blame the Democrats for being fiscally irresponsible.
88
Gwyndion_ Mar 25, 2026 +64
Not like it's a new strategy, the GOP only cares about the deficit when a democrat is in power.
64
Inner_Swordfish7475 Mar 25, 2026 +26
So true! When I was a reliable Republican 9 1/2 years ago, I totally bought into this. But then, I was pretty upset about Trump and started researching. This is when I noticed all the deficit explosions when the Republicans are in power.
26
linktothe Mar 25, 2026 +14
Right? I was in a similar boat. Everyone around me saying the same things, but when I looked into it after someone on the radio slipped on messaging—Republicans have been crashing this country as much as they can for at least the last 60 years.
14
Emotional-Store-1667 Mar 25, 2026 +8
If you can remember, I'd be curious what that messaging slip was? When I hit voting age, I looked at the various parties and chose Democrat because they were who I mostly aligned with (though I was a moderate at the time, seeing good in both parties and things I didn't like in both). And every year since I've gotten more and more certain in my choice (though from around 2019 to now I align most closely with democratic socialism). When Trump came down that f****** golden elevator, I knew instantly in my gut he was a bad man. Before then he was just that arrogant a****** from The Apprentice to me, but after looking into him to decide between him and Hillary, it opened my eyes to how much of an evil POS he really was. He also set off all my narcissist alarm bells (I grew up with a mom who is undiagnosed but suspected BPD with narcissistic tendencies) I'm really ashamed to admit this next part, but I was young a new mom to twins, it was my 3rd election to vote in, and both my family, and my husband and his family got to me and pressured me to vote for him because "look into Benghazi, Hillary's a murderer!" and "the government is such a shitshow we need a fresh perspective and who would be better than an accomplished business man?" 😞😞😞 I will never forgive myself for my weakness and to have to say I did vote for him once. But 2 weeks after he won, I raged at ALL of them and told them in no uncertain terms that they are NEVER to try to influence my vote EVER again. It was my first instance of standing up for myself and my spine has only gotten shinier and stronger since (I am very proud of younger me about this). I hoped he would prove me wrong, but he turned out to be worst than I could ever imagine. I suddenly paid very close attention to politics and legitimately believed he was trying to be America's Hitler; and the repeated worries I had when he tried something blatantly illegal were downplayed by my husband and friends because " they would never let something like that happen" Didn't they see how fucked up it was that he TRIED that evil shit in the first place?? And I STILL experience this to this day mind you! I've been proven right, all the things I feared have happened, and they STILL WON'T LISTEN TO ME. My husband asked me why I cared so much in the first place, it wasn't affecting me or us and I then gave him a thorough dressing down because I did NOT marry a non-empathetic a******. But, in my head, it's because I didn't pay attention to politics that allowed the orange anti-christ to get into the most respected office in the country, and because I didn't pay attention, I helped him get there... So sorry for the novel, I guess I needed to get this out 😅
8
Inner_Swordfish7475 Mar 25, 2026 +3
Your husband states it isn’t affecting you. I think he is wrong. He and all of us will be paying for Trump’s grifting, hubris and mistakes long after he is gone. Trump has always been a fraud. The only reason for his wealth is due to his generational wealth, his grifting and not paying his bills and taxes. I could go on and on because I really think Trump is truly horrible. It was extremely difficult for me to vote for Hilary as a longtime Republican which was such a part of my identity. But, I did because I knew she would follow the Constitution. After January 6th, I didn’t think anyone would have any doubt about how horrible Trump is. He is very transactional. He doesn’t care about anyone (especially his voters) but himself. So, I am glad you have stood up to him and them. But, he is wrong about it not affecting him. ETA: I wrote a book too.🤣 But, I am very passionate about this. Also, the people behind the realty show, The Apprentice, have shown in a documentary how untrue everything in that show was. Trump is great conman & creating chaos IMO.

Small_Run_3583 Mar 25, 2026 +8

That's the thing, they don't actually look into everything or well anything. Whatever they are told via the "experts" they believe in, you know saying shit off vibes they take as fact. Especially the evangelical crowd, as they are literally taught from birth to act that way. They won't actually read into any of these bills to learn what it would actually do to them, they don't look into all of the very blatant corruption that trump is doing, they don't look into literally anything or else I genuinely believe a lot of them would turn on him because they will see how bad he's f****** them over personally

It's not generational. It was—the Me Generation was so named for a reason. But thanks to the likes of Steve Bannon, there's a whole new generation of angry, hateful, selfish bigots to take over. In hindsight, the idea that we would be rid of them by simply waiting for them to die was foolhardy.

Honestly Gen Z was primed for it from the get go thanks to the internet. Everything is about being more special than everyone else and being so egotistical as to think people want to watch them eat sandwiches and play CoD. I remember when gasoline dropped below 99¢ per gallon in the 1990s and everybody thought it was a great time to buy a gigantic SUV. A few years later, when gasoline prices spiked above $5 per gallon, the cost for a full tank in a Surburban was above $200 ($354 in 2026 money). It never seems to stop people from seeking the absolute worst MPG.

>. The end of this administration needs to result in Republican administrations being so widely despised (sub 10% approval rating) the party dies. This is a fantasy. As long as Republicans keep up the racism and promises to hurt non whites, their support will never fall below 30%. They'll accept all the pain and destruction of their lives as long as someone gets hurt worse.

Not everyone who lives in red states voted red. New Orleans was blue, Shreveport was blue, and I think Baton Rouge. I know for Louisiana, they don’t even educate kids for college or any sort of success. If you want a good education, you have to do private school. I was lucky to get that privilege. They encourage people to work in menial jobs like the oil field. Big companies and all come down here, set up oil rigs and destroy the gulf coast. People who do work in the oil field are promised fast and easy money. They don’t get that, obviously because either they’re injured and can’t work or become addicted to pain meds or ADHD meds. This obviously leads to addiction to harder drugs. Or they become alcoholics. The ones who don’t purchase properties in New Orleans and make them into Air BNBs. Sometimes companies buy apartments for their workers. This drives the housing prices up and makes them unaffordable for regular people. But by wishing death on people (essentially that’s what your comment states) you’re condemning people who didn’t want this. I,personally, voted for Kamala. I voted for Biden. I also voted for Obama. Before that I could not vote. I am also not white. I am mixed. There are lots, and I mean, lots of non white people in Louisiana. 33% of the state is black. 56% of New Orleans is black. There are lots of people who want change. The political system in Louisiana is corrupt. We have been trying to change it. But it’s hard when you don’t even get a democratic candidate on the ballot for governor or senator. Why don’t we move? Because it’s too expensive, some people feel this is their home. Personally, I have health issues and had surgery last year. I plan to save up to just move to Korea to be with my family. Or China to learn about my roots. My bio parents aren’t even from here. I was adopted and brought here against my will by white people. I honestly do want to see Trump and his regime taken away, down, whatever. But I don’t wish harm on others who didn’t vote for this. I do think education is a big way out. Knowledge is power, hence why Trump wants the Dept of Education dismantled and why memes are used as a propaganda tool online.
23
NotOfferedForHearsay Mar 25, 2026 +12
No, wishing for economic hardship and the consequences of actions to be felt by those who caused them is not the same as wishing for death/red state genocide, stop being so dramatic.  I think this article sums it up well: https://www.alternet.org/trump-supporters-delusion/

In Missouri, the largest school district in the state is the Catholic schools. That’s how bad public education is. Yet every major city here is blue. St. Louis is hugely progressive. I’m with you on this.

I want MAGAs to suffer so severely they literally cry every night. I want them to experience despair like no one has ever gone through. And that's just what I want before they eventually die and all end up in hell, because if anyone is going to hell it's MAGA.
19
BrianWonderful Mar 25, 2026 +5
I just want to point out that even in "Red States", probably around 45+ % of the voters voted Democrat (and a third of the people didn't vote at all). If you are saying "good" because it will help make their Republican leadership unpopular, that's one thing. If you are saying "good" because you want the people to suffer, that's misguided.

TheHomersapien Mar 25, 2026 +13
Something that Democrats never seem to understand is that these red states don't see themselves at victims. **It's what they want**.

>“We’re stealing from Peter to pay Paul,” Idaho State Representative Jordan Redman said. “It’s put us in a predicament where now we’re trying to figure out, ‘Ok, what programs do we keep? What programs do we cut?’” So their plan is working perfectly. Can't wait until the people in these states who are most affected continue to vote for Republicans that just blatantly lie.

I have a brother who voted MAGA. Nice job writing code for the federal government on some project. Lost his job last January due to DOGE cuts. Was so embarrassed he did not tell the rest of his liberal family. I hate that it is happening since he just bought a house and moved cross country with his larger family. But at the end of the day he is getting the exact policies and results the rest of us tried to warn him against. So far no signs of self reflection or course correction. Just no longer as vocal about the "moochers" on government assistance for some reason. But like so many others I am sure he will find that voice again if he ever gets off of assistance and find a way to justify how he was not a greedy parasite somehow.

\>Just no longer as vocal about the "moochers" on government assistance for some reason. I guarantee that if you confront him about that, he'd say something like, "Yeah, well, I actually need it!" That's the excuse that I've always heard: The right-wingers who use gov't subsidies need it, but anyone else is just a moocher.

It’s shameful that after a full year in office this administration is so completely ineffectual as to be powerless to undo all the legislative havoc Sleepy Joe wreaked upon the GOP-led congress, even after leaving office, including shoving this bill through and making Donny sign it. MAGA must be so embarrassed at how weak they are, even with absolute power and impunity.

Why the regular people thought those tax cuts were meant for them is beyond me. A 5 percent reduction in taxes at 40k is negligible. At 400k its significant and and a 4000k its a big beautiful tax cut.
11
Bluegreenlithop Mar 25, 2026 +3
Because they don't understand marginal tax rates and never will. Which would be fantastic if that didn't mean their voting habits kept handing power to conservatives that enabled them to gut our broadest social safety nets.
3
Turlast Mar 25, 2026 +26
That's what happens when you put your faith in a conman. These airheads believed this monstrosity of a bill would only "own the libs". They deserve everything that's happening to them. They think calling it "The Family Tax Cut" changes the reality of the damage it's causing.
26
Glad-Process-3268 Mar 25, 2026 +8
The shift and shaft is how we can afford fancy tax cuts for the rich: cut funds for food, education, and health at the federal level and shift the responsibility over to state budgets.

it doesn't matter. MAGA is all in on making their lives worse to help billionaires finish off American democracy. Source: Living in a red state, watching it turn to shit because a trans person exists.

> “The feedback I’m hearing from citizens is that extra few bucks on their [return] at the end of the year, because of the taxes they didn’t have to pay, comes secondary to wanting us to take care of the things that government needs to be invested in,” Guthrie said. “Which is your infrastructure and your roads and bridges and schools and also your Medicaid population.” Yeah, but you owned the libs. Good. I’ve been in Mississippi all my life, and the stupidity that comes from our govt officials is staggering. The loss of Medicaid/Medicare will be to the tune of $6B for my state. That’s quite literally 5% of our GDP. A 5% loss of GDP, by definition, is a recession. Thousands will suffer and might die, just so our governor can gargle Trumps balls. Despicable people.

I feel bad for the people who didn't vote for this and for the kids. But Trump was not subtle about what he was planning and red States lined up behind him, in some cases in massive numbers. Sometimes people just need to touch the hot stove and Democrats have spent far too much effort trying to help people who don't want help.

The crappy part is those of us that *aren’t* Nazis but still live in red states are suffering too, and unlike the idiot cultists, I don’t want to suffer if it means they do too. My insurance rates have literally tripled or more in the last few years and the only reason I’m ever given is “that’s just what’s happening in Texas, rates are going up all over the state.” It’s one thing to have to pay the higher monthly premium, but it’s another party altogether when my mortgage payment more than doubles to cover the sudden unexpected escrow balance shortage that happens because they only collected enough from past payments to cover the much-more-normal 30% premium increase, not the actual, literal **150%** increase. Then it happened again this year. Now my entire paycheck goes to the mortgage payment and auto insurance premium with little else left for the also-stupidly-expensive (also because Texas) utility payments. What used to be a $60 month electric bill is now regularly *at least* $200, and don’t get me started on the water bill. It’s little comfort knowing *they* are all going through the same things when I’m creeping up to foreclosure at a steady pace to the beat of a slave-driver’s drum beat.

kdeweb24 Mar 25, 2026 +3
Red states are ALWAYS the ones hit hardest by republican legislation. But, the Fox News machine has been the most effective propaganda tool the human race has ever created. And, because of that, red state voters will always believe that Democrats are out to bankrupt them, turn them communist, and force them to become trans.
3
Sublimotion Mar 25, 2026 +3
A lot of people are now still pretty much clueless on how much this bill will ruin and screw their lives and their well being in years to come. Unless by a miracle that many of its damages can be amended in time, highly unlikely. In normal times, the mere proposal of this bill itself would've been like kneeling down, leaning forward to french kiss the political 3rd rail. Now, the cultural politics has strengthened to the point where it shields it, initially at least. I really hope this backfires badly and ends up being what sends the Republican Party into many decades of irrelevance.

Yep - MAGA is waking up to the reality that the MAGA Messiah could not give one f*** about the country or the American public. That Narcissistic b****** cares only for himself. He'll tell you what he thinks you want to hear, just to get his way. If he doesn't get his way, he goes into bully mode to threaten and force people and states give him his desires. If he continues to be denied, then he'll throw his tantrums on Truth Social and have his goons and minions exact his revenge. Meanwhile -- He's gutted the Affordable Care Act (That Evil Obama Care), leaving millions without any form of medical insurance. He's gutted federal SNAP assistance, leaving the states to pick up billions of support with funds they do not have. His tariffs are causing inflation to climb to unsupportable levels. His block on clean energy and removal of all regulation and restriction on fossil fuel energy is causing electric cost to double and triple across the country. Now he's started a war in the middle east that is causing oil prices to rise around the world. I think the MAGA states are getting what they voted for.

Heard a farmer on NPR recently say that he supports the war in Iran “but there are probably a lot more things they’re not telling us.” They’ll vote R no matter what happens. Seems so strange to me. I used to listen to conservative talk radio in the early 2000s before they all went bat-shit crazy and started yelling everything. Started listening to NPR and became a Democrat to vote for Bernie in the primary after going with policies I believed were better. Apparently better isn’t good for everybody.
