Trump’s Boxed Himself Into a Trap on Iran
Even if the president winds down the war now, he’ll leave the U.S. worse off than when it started.

Bibi tricked him into going to war.

He did it to distract from epstein.I'm sure Bibi used that to his advantage

Yes, distraction. When Iran war is over(if it will ever), he will take over Cuba then Greenland and so on to keep the focus from himself.

Since he could squander everything America has faster by fighting in both Cuba and Iran simultaneously, that's will be his choice. We are now very entangled with Iran, so that isn't ending soon, and he wants to invade Cuba too. He doesn't need a plan, he'll just wing it one hour at a time.

Trump's the President of f****** America. The buck stops with him. If he's mentally incompetent, then it becomes J. D. Vance's responsibility to invoke the 25th Amendment. I will not absolve Trump of his responsibility in this case. Trump made that decision and he wants everyone else to clean up his mess like always.

That’s not how it works. The VP cannot unilaterally invoke the 25th amendment. It would require a majority of his handpicked cabinet to do so.  Then, even after, if he says he is fine, then the Senate holds a vote and 2/3 must say he is not fine for him to remain out of office (same barrier as impeachment).

Good point. So, it's J. D. Vance's, the Cabinet's, *and* the GOP Senate's responsibility.

Trump's an idiotic narcissist with dementia.

So the worst businessman in the history of business made a decision he didn't think through? Went with his gut, when that gut has never served him in any positive way? Ever. Oh Republicans, your boy fucked this up real good and shot us ALL in the foot. But you'll all be rich right?

He's fucked. If he pulls us out and stops bombing Iran is going to keep the straight closed until some of their concessions are met. If he decides to go full in that will be disasterous.

It's his one crowning achievement. He can trap himself like a big boy.

It be the most incredible owned goal in the history of our country. Why would iran open the straights now? Or especially after we leave. They and russia are making an absolute fortune with the increased cost of oil, and they get to embarrass and punish trump in the meantime. It's an absolute win win win win win across the board for iran. Thanks republicans!

Russia is not really able to earn fortunes on selling expensive oil. Ukraine is crushing both oil refineries and the harbour teminals from where Russia would be able to export the oil. Same for the rest of the oil infrastructure. This is a problem for India and China. Much worse if they cannot get oil from Iran either. Headline should have been: "Trump has boxed America and Americans into a trap in Iran." Now the world hates all things American even more than a few weeks ago. - The world needs Arab countries' exports more than they need America now.

Over under on his address to the nation tonight will leave skeptics questioning whether it was AI? His brain is mashed potatoes at this point.

Is he still wealthy and powerful? That is all that matters to him. He is definitely the type to burn the world to ash if it means he can remain “king”.

Boxed “himself”? No no no, he brought all of us in there with him. Now we will all suffer. Thanks for nothing

And remember, the Democrats didn't even try to rein him in for starting this war for Israel..

ilevelconcrete Apr 1, 2026 +1
They want this war as badly as he does

Infamous_Employer_85 Apr 1, 2026 +1
They did

Trying means making noise, publically campaigning for the cause, reaching out to their counterparts across the aisle and publicly shaming them for doing the wrong thing. What they actually did was show up for a performative vote on war powers resolution.

No true Scotsman

Sure. The fact that the US has a convicted felon in the White House for the 2nd time is testimony to the fact the Democrats didn't have the courage to take a principled stand.
