"Brady Ebert, a cofounding [Turnstile](https://archive.is/o/t4kTf/https://www.rollingstone.com/t/turnstile/) member who split from the h******* group in 2022, is facing charges of second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault, both felonies, in Maryland’s Montgomery District Court. In a statement, the band tells *Rolling Stone* Ebert had allegedly **“used his vehicle to run over Brendan’s father \[William Yates\], causing severe physical trauma.**” The band, which asked for privacy during this time, says Yates survived and “has successfully undergone surgery, and we’re hoping for the best possible outcome in his recovery.”" Broo wtf

Running over a 79 year old man because you got kicked out a band? P**** ass behaviour.

kusariku Apr 2, 2026 +267
Because you got kicked out of a band *four years ago* no less. Damn.

CuttyAllgood Apr 2, 2026 +92
Well, he just got kicked out of another band a couple months back
92
Training-Fold-4684 Apr 2, 2026 +81
You need to get kicked out 5 bands to get the run-over-an-old-man pass.
81
Sw4nR0ns0n Apr 2, 2026 +34
And one of them has to be Metallica
34
counterfitster Apr 2, 2026 +15
Okay, so Dave has to get kicked out of Megadeth and then 3 more.
15
milkymaniac Apr 2, 2026 +6
His first band Panic fell apart after two members died in separate car crashes, does that count? Similarly, the band he formed immediately after getting kicked out of Metallica, Fallen Angels, also quickly folded. So we might be up to three.

Sw4nR0ns0n Apr 2, 2026 +12
Dave is soooo close to being able to run James’ dad over

I wonder why he was around his ex-band mate's Dad?
2
mike_stifle Apr 2, 2026 +10
Yep, and it's not on the band. They shouldn't have to say a thing about this.

I'm not at all trying to defend Brady and I don't think what he did was cool or good But "running over a 79 year old man because you got kicked out of a band [4 years ago]" is kind of funny. In like a nightmare sitcom kind of way

Not justifying it in any way, but he wasn't just kicked out, he is owed a shit ton of money from royalties. Again, I am NOT justifying what he did, I am just providing context. Hope Mr. Yates fully recovers from this awful incident, and by the way, he did throw a rock to Brady's car right before he got hit. Just saying.

janoDX Apr 2, 2026 +18
The royalties part doesn't appear and it gives context of why he threw the rock (Ebert launched the car at him and narrowly dodged)
18
_TheTurtleBox_ Apr 2, 2026 +20
The Royalties thing is something Brady d*** riders have been sticking with ever since Brady claimed he wrote Never Enough's guitar riffs which is ironic because his d*** riders call the guitar work on Never Enough "dog shit and embarrassing." The ONLY source on this is Brady and it's been disproven multiple times because he was removed from the band for almost half a year before they toured for two years straight...they didn't even start recording the record until those two years wrapped up. Brady also claims that the band steals charity money and his source was basically "Well I did it so they technically did it too." lmao
20
boubix Apr 2, 2026 -38
The royalties part is what Brady has been claiming for a long time on his social media. I provided the link to the source just regarding the rock issue, you smart cookie. Also, since when it's OK to throw a rock at someone? Anyway, this is nuts and I am NOT justifying Brady's awful behavior. Sad.
-38
munchyslacks Apr 2, 2026 +27
It’s okay to throw a rock if someone is trying to hit you with their car.
27
boubix Apr 2, 2026 -26
Nope. Should have walked away and call the police, period, not throwing a rock to escalate the situation. Specially considering he's a 78 yo elderly. Are you serious?
-26
munchyslacks Apr 2, 2026 +24
Victim blaming
24
boubix Apr 2, 2026 -10
Nope. The victim is Mr. Yates. But he should have probably not thrown a rock to Brady's car during the incident, which escalated the situation.

This story just keeps getting worse and worse. 79 year old dad of ex bands singer FOUR years later? Whew.
89
Morningfluid Apr 3, 2026 +10
Them blowing up without him probably has a lot to do with it along with bitter feelings. That said, the band also commented that they did everything to help & support him and then exhausted their options before he was removed, and they hadn't commented on his subsequent bad behavior after leaving until now.

He will be doing hard time and paying off the lawsuit for the rest of his life. I hope it was worth it.

Atalant Apr 2, 2026 +30
Turnstile seemed so chill, I knew their old guitarist have/had issues drugs(but that isn't unique within music business). I guess Ebert was kicked out for a good reason. That is a next level grugde to try run an elderly man, because you are angry at the son.

Some serious mental health problems I would imagine. Sucks it got this far.

rysker6 Apr 2, 2026 +17
Will the toxic fandom of Turnstile fans who hate Meg Mills, who replaced this despicable person, because she’s a woman, now disavow him ?
17
whobroughtmehere Apr 3, 2026 +8
How could Meg do this /s
8
Cralido Apr 2, 2026 +1
Hopefully don’t have to have someone with mental issues or addiction in band to be legit hard core.

The_Oregon_Duck Apr 2, 2026 -34
Not shocking to see another rock/punk/metal musician that was kicked out of a band for any reason arrested for a violent felony. It’s the single biggest predictor for who’s gonna be an a******. Hope the singers father recovers.
-34
Furd_Terguson1 Apr 2, 2026 +20
Most metal heads I’ve met are the nicest people, that’s not a fair assessment whatsoever.
20
The_Oregon_Duck Apr 2, 2026 -17
I’m referring to band members that were kicked out of their bands. Not metalheads. Also, anyone who says that “Metalheads are nice” stereotype is 99% of the time a straight white male. I have been in the scene, and metal is actually full of racists, sexists, and homophobes, and there are entire metal subgenres about Naziism, killing gay people, and burning down historical buildings.

iHadou Apr 3, 2026 +4
Oh my god! Not a straight white male! They're the absolute worst!
4
one-size-fitall Apr 2, 2026 +8
I mean most other genres are guilty of this behaviour, the people in drum and bass scene are the absolute worst in my experience
8
The_Oregon_Duck Apr 2, 2026 -3
Sure, but they don’t have some bullshit Canada stereotype that’s pushed relentlessly by a scenes members to cover up the bigotry that’s rampant in that scene line metal and punk.
-3
The_Oregon_Duck Apr 2, 2026 -5
Everyone downvoting me needs to educate themselves on the struggles faced by minorities in rock/metal/punk, because you all clearly are ignoring the open bigotry in those scenes, and the idolization of people like Faust, Varg Vikernes, Tim Lambesis, Screwdriver, GG Allin, etc.
-5
TheNicholasRage Apr 2, 2026 +14
We're not downvoting you because you're wrong. Those scenes are isolated for a reason. We know. We're downvoting you because assuming someone getting kicked out of a band makes them more likely to be a violent criminal is, frankly, silly.
14
celeryburger2 Apr 3, 2026 +4
I’m a minority who came up in the metal/punk/h******* scene and most of the scene are completely accepting. You’re extrapolating a small sect that exists in every genre. I grew in the Midwest and I was only called the N-word at county bars and never once at a show. I think you need to educate yourself past what read in headlines.

adamlundy23 Apr 2, 2026 +49
It’s also because they replaced him with a *gasp* woman!
49
A_Refill_of_Mr_Pibb Apr 2, 2026 +26
And that wasn't even what happened, right? Didn't they have that guy Greg for awhile, to tour, and then she toured with them for like 2 years and THEN they made her a member.
26
Atalant Apr 2, 2026 +1
Look. To those kind of people, time doesn't matter, her gender does, if they made the Greg guy official member for a while, they would be raging over she replaced Greg over Brady Ebert instead. It is about their feelings, not facts or reason. We are talking about a subset of people who see certain activities as music as inherently masculine, and women as inferior to men in those pursuits. To them any woman better than a man in those pursuits is threat to them and their worldview. She doesn't have to be any good, just existing in a traditionally male dominated field is enough of threat.
1
Honduran Apr 3, 2026 +1
Sounds like regular treatment of a replacement member of a band to me.
1
Passchenhell17 Apr 2, 2026 +18
Ah yeah, that'll do it
18
uponloss Apr 2, 2026 +3
Which is even stranger considering theyre not really a h******* band anymore lol
3
10000Didgeridoos Apr 2, 2026 +20
That's their entire beef. Their conspiracy theory is they kicked him out to go more mainstream. Which is ridiculous and ignores the fact that he's a drug addict piece of shit.
20
uponloss Apr 2, 2026 +2
Ah fair enough, I dont mind their earlier stuff but not a fan of newer stuff so bit out of the loop

Why do you pay attention to traditional social media posts? Honest question. There's literally no need to be on traditional social media.  Dudes getting blasted in the turnstile sub for what it's worth, but even then, who cares what keyboard warriors have to say. Bet a chunk of them are bots anyway. Why argue with it?
-40
HeySmallBusinessMan Apr 2, 2026 +24
... What the actual f*** are you talking about?
24
fearlessfryingfrog Apr 2, 2026 -15
That people whining about what others are saying on traditional social media is dumb. Probably a bunch of dork kids defending this douchebag and people are all riled up about it. F****** hilarious. It's why trolls do what they do, because everyone's blood pressure is all raised now. Well done feeding them.
-15
BigLorry Apr 2, 2026 +14
I didn’t argue with anyone? I’ve only observed, not interested in wasting my own time “Traditional social media posts…..” what do you think Listnook is? What a confusing comment you got like 4 different strawman in here Edit: lmao yeah see your other comments here, no wonder you had to throw so many strawmen out dude in here fighting ghosts for some reason
14
fearlessfryingfrog Apr 2, 2026 -12
Listnook is not traditional social media for a variety of reasons, the main one being the "social" aspect is removed as it's anonymous. Further, a voting system that allows people to never see posts others don't like has the community correct itself. That's not traditional social media by any means. Not much of an argument there. The rest is asking why you're even involved in a way to witness other posts on traditional social media. It's for boomers and children at this point, and a cesspool And whatever you mentioned about my comments, not sure what you're getting at but not terribly concerned.
-12
BigLorry Apr 2, 2026 +7
The irony of this comment combined with your little “keyboard warriors” thing earlier is honestly pretty hilarious ngl Edit: poor baby hit the reply with immediate block so I can’t see it, classic lmao
7
fearlessfryingfrog Apr 2, 2026 -2
Funniest part that comparison doesn't fit the definition of "keyboard warrior", but nice try.  The stretch to make a connection when I'm saying people reading dumb comments are also dumb is equally hilarious to me. But I'm out, have a good one stewing over this.
