I love that Scrubs is back and it’s still so good. These two killed it on this episode.

Yeah, I think this is the first time in a long period I saw >!Dr. Cox being so scared and so vulnerable to JD!<

It’s amazing how they kept the same vibes and quality

They even went so far as recreating the original hospital in a warehouse. (The original had since been torn down). They definitely could’ve had it all at a different hospital, or mention a “revamping” or something, but instead they kept it the exact same. And it works beautifully.

Scrubs is my favorite sitcom ever. I've liked the reboot but haven't loved it. This week's episode got me big time though. I know they had other TV commitments that kept them from being regulars this season but I think that Johnny C and Judy Reyes are essential parts of the show and it lacks something without them.

I suspect this is how Dr. Cox becomes more of a presence next season: as a regular patient (who of course can't help sticking his nose in other hospital business while he's around). There's a lot of potential to explore the sort of role reversal that can happen in a parental (or pseudo-parental) relationship as the parent figure ages and starts needing the "child" to be their caretaker.

The actor that plays Dr. Cox said this flat out in an interview last week.

coatimundos Apr 11, 2026 +38
They both said they intend to have much bigger roles next season if they are renewed. Reyes said she wants to be back as a main cast

It really is missing something without Carla and Dr. Cox, no coincidence the two best episodes were the ones they each played a big part in. Overall I really am enjoying the reboot though.

Yeah Carla and Dr. Cox had commitments to other shows but I am glad they were the focus when they were available for Scrubs.

Agreed BUT I think them being guest stars this season has allowed the writers to spend more time with the new characters and set them up better. I can't imagine I'd like the new guys anywhere near as much if they hadn't had the screentime they got.

MostlyBored11 Apr 11, 2026 +3
Yeah I loved the reboot but they were both missed. They have said they will be back much more regularly if we get another season . And honestly I think the set up works and it makes the impact of the final scene so much more powerful really hope it gets picked up

For me, while Cox and Carla are essential, the biggest killer is that the new cast don’t hold a candle to the old one and they’re focusing on the wrong gaps. The show really needs “replacements” for characters like Ted, Bob, and Janitor, and not new med students and interns when we still have JD, Turk, and Elliot. Sibby is also actively one of the least funny characters I’ve seen for a while so her being a stand in for someone like Ted is a detractor.

I can’t get into Sibby at all. It’s that quirky SNL ass character we’ve seen a thousand times through Kristen Wig, Molly Shannon, Any Poehler, etc. (they’re all iconic I’m just saying we’ve seen this type of character too many times before).

Not a reboot.

Pitt and Scrubs final episodes next week. Damn. Hope the wait between seasons won't be too long.

jessnotok Apr 11, 2026 +12
The Pitt is trying to be like a network show so it's yearly and Scrubs is a network show so same. So luckily we shouldn't have to wait long for either!

TroublesomeTurnip Apr 12, 2026 +2
That's what I'm hoping!

McGinley is also killing it on Rooster

Love that he’s back in the spotlight! Watching both of these shows with my fam has been a feel good I didn’t even know I was missing. Blessed to have Scrubs, Shrinking, and Scrubs.

I watched this last night and cried. This has always been my favourite show. The way it does, silly and ridiculous but then floors you with humanness. That single tear from JD and then hik saying "I have a plan" Man alive. Then I watchwd the last in the series of Shrinking. Bill Lawrence is something else.

Me too, absolutely amazing scene by those two and worth the entire reboot.

At the very least, he should get the honorable mention.

StuMacherGhostface Apr 11, 2026 +11
But at the same time Braff and McGinley weren't undeserving either

It was a good week for television. Dr. Robby breaking down on the latest episode of The Pitt broke my heart as well. Someone needs to grab him by the arm and shove him in therapy already. No more tiptoeing around him.

I love how morbidly funny he is in this episode, it’s not that Bullseye is trying to be funny, it’s just he doesn’t know how to act normal so this is what he thinks being normal looks like, it’s dark comedy gold  “Dogs in restaurant are unsanitary” “That was a great milkshake”

VicVDoom_ Apr 11, 2026 +16
The deadpan "shit, he has a gun" line as well. He's so good.

New York is going to shit while dude is just having the time of his life lolll

If you write an actor that’s not from the series the article is about also write which show he’s in

Daredevil Born Again

Puppetmaster858 Apr 11, 2026 +4
He’s so fuckin good, it’s insane s1 wasn’t gonna bring him back until they did that big reset and fired people and leaned into the Netflix show. He is such a good villain

WebHead1287 Apr 11, 2026 +2
Honestly though tough competition this week between Scrubs, Daredevil, and Shrinking. Not even mentioning Boys, Invincible, and Malcom in the middle
2
Cheatercheaterbitch Apr 11, 2026 +2
I don’t really think the boys had any strong performances really, besides Homelander and Solider Boy but the two episodes weren’t really their best performances
2
SuperIdiot360 Apr 11, 2026 +3
A-Train did very well in episode 1
3
WebHead1287 Apr 11, 2026 +1
Homelander is exactly who I was thinking

My partner and I have unfortunately had to experience the ‘caregiver to older parent / mentor’ so yeah the last episode had us both ugly crying with JD & Cox. They were phenomenal and we both swore we were watching ourselves.

Darksideofthebob Apr 11, 2026 +2
That scene hit so got damn hard, I’m still tearing up from it

I really hope if Dr cox has an episode where if he has to have surgery or go on really strong pain killers he goes into a dream state where he gets to see Ben (Brendon Fraser) again. There my favourite Cox episodes for both the emotional performance and also the comedy. This episode really gave me the same feelings as when Cox realised he's at a funeral not his daughter's party 😭

I get it, a media outlet can't just award The Pitt every week. It would be inappropriate and seem as ads. But can they finally give a nod to David Harbour in DTF St Louis? The dude is amazing and having a time of his life there.

The Scrubs choice was correct. That last scene was phenomenal
