Suspected Ukrainian drones and by accident, so tired of headlines not representing the god damn story.
It’s war, accidents happen when a shit load of ordnance is flying around near national borders.

they probably don't use direct routes into Russia so not to make it easy to shot down so I guess this is what happens. Hope no one got hurt.

Ukraine burning the goodwill of baltics and finns by flying drones into our airspace and now actually making an attack on Latvian soil. Ukraine should not be flying anywhere near the baltics or finland if they don’t have the skills to not fly into our airspace.

The Baltic states stand with Ukraine even if you personally don't, they understand perfectly who is holding the line, and at what cost, stuff like this would be forgotten by dinner time but the Russian threat won't.

I stand with Ukraine, but if they keep keep flying armed drones into my country without permission I do oppose that. Any country, including Ukraine that attacks Finland will loose my support.
The amount of negligence and/or indifference about striking an ally instead of the enemy Ukraine is showing puts the whole region in more danger.
Any country that does want to allow Ukraine to strike Russia from their airspace, or allow Ukraine to strike targets inside their borders is free to do so, but atleast here in Finland there has been vote or even a peep about this becoming official policy and as long as it is not any attack on Finnish soil or breach of our airspace should lead into actions that make these attacks/breaches stop.
Why is Ukraine attacking the very countries that have the most support for them?

> Why is Ukraine attacking the very countries that have the most support for them?
They aren't numbnuts, it's a war, accidents happen, there is even a name for it *Fog of War*, there are thousands of drones flying around every day, some are going to go amiss.

If you don’t even know in what country your drones are in maybe you should not be flying any. Russia is big place there is no reason to fly drones so close to baltics/finland. Ukraine could strike the supply chain feeding the Russian oil harbors and have the same outcome with a lot less risk of hitting allies.

Eh, at least in finland people support ukraine fully and know accidents happen. Zelensky has also personally apologized to our prime minister, and most importantly nobody has gotten hurt thus far.

So we should wait until someone does get hurt before we tell the Ukranians to stop?
I do support Ukraine, but I do not want them flying armed drones into Finland. If they are incapable of controlling the drones they should not be flying them. Simple as that.

Lol. One or two mistakes with no human or material casualties endangers Finns' support for Ukraine, sure.
Maybe you'd like Ukraine to stop so they lose an important edge to not getting conquered and then Finland can be next, huh?

Maybe I just don’t want any country to fly armed drones into our airspace without permission? Next thing we know Russia will also start “loosing” drones into Finland or the baltics and people like you will just go “lol. A mistake or two with no casulties”

Have you never heard of EW jamming? Reports are the drone's flightpath was *from* Russia. Why would Ukraine, who is hitting their targets and demonstrating skills you can't begin to appreciate, fly back out of Russia when *that's their destination*?

L444kiMay 7, 2026

Have you heard of not flying drones if you don’t have any control over them or even know in which country they are in?
In this situation flying back into russia would be an even bigger issue as that would give russia justification on striking Finland and Baltics since their airspace is begin used to strike russia.

Like I said, skills you can't even appreciate given your demonstrated lack of knowledge.
EW jamming *changes the flightpath* which would explain why they came from the Russian border - they likely (but without radar tracking I can't say for certain) *never entered Finnish airspace while under control of Ukraine*.
Think before you type, it will save your parents from having to apologize on your behalf all the time.
10
L444kiMay 7, 2026
EW jamming or not, if you cannot control your own weapons and they actually end up begin hijacked by Russia to strike at your allies, maybe don’t fly them at all. Why are Ukranians playing with Baltic/Finnish lives?

If an Air Canada plane crashed in Finland, would you be so hysterical about it? Wild you say Canada has no idea how to fly a plane and should not be operating in your space?
You should have taken my advice, you're just giving your parents more to apologize for

Is this air canada plane carrying a warhead and entering the airspace without permission or are you just moving goal posts?

Russia would not be able to take on nato in a conventional war even if US isolates itself into a regional power by abandoning nato.
Looking at recent events it seems like US security guarantee have turned into a liability for most countries after we saw the US attacking Iran from bases in gulf countries and bringing war to the very people they were supposed to defend.
Why would you want Ukraine to fall? We want Ukraine to succeed, but also keep their armed drones out of our airspace.

You're so naive it's astounding if you think Russia needs a reason to attack Baltic states. And also, NATO will not help with its own forces, if history is any indication

> REZEKNE, Latvia, May 7 (Reuters) - Latvia and Lithuania on Thursday called on NATO to boost air defences in their region after two suspected stray Ukrainian drones came over the Russian border and crashed on Latvian soil, one of them exploding at an oil storage facility.
Could try reading the first paragraph at least or the whole thing, Reuters is pretty good reporting.

Same happened with the drones that flew into Finland.
Reporters jumped the gun and wrote "Russian drones have been shot down in the Kouvola region". This is despite the fact that the drones weren't Russian or shot down.
They quickly corrected the error, but it is insanely stupid how they report details that are based on literally nothing.

Title: Two drones from Russia crash in Latvia, damage oil storage facility
Second line of the article: The drones were probably launched by Ukraine against targets in Russia, Latvia's Defence Minister Andris Spruds told national broadcaster LSM.

I support Ukraine as much as the next person but this is insanely misleading and it’s shameful that Reuters would write it from this angle. The drones were launched from Ukraine by accident.
