TLDR; they have reactivated a local CO2 plant so we don't have a CO2 shortage (which is used in food preservation).
It's boring. UK is a food exporter. We have food.

how do farmers grow food?
they use machines like tractors, which use diesel. then transporting those crops to the factory uses diesel.
the machines in the factorries that make food from crops use oil.
the trucks that transport the food from the factory to the supermarkets use diesel.
prices will rise for everything.
fuel, textiles, plastics, foods, chemicals, etc.
practically every machine uses oil

And? We already know this it's not a gotcha to say oils are plastics. One of the reasons to use LESS oil is to increase the amount of plastics or using less oil so the farming industry has lots of red diesel on tap.
We need to lower demand through changes to the civilian vehicle fleet

It really does baffle me that for decades people have warned about "what if the strait closes" and all the indicators have been there that it was becoming a when, not if, the next regional conflict erupts. And yet almost no contingencies were put in place for that eventuality.
