Didn't this guy tell Ukraine six months ago they were losing and they should accept a deal? Pretty sure you can presume that anyone speaking officially for the US noawadays is first and foremost a Trump mouthpiece, but you know broken clocks and all that.

And by Trump mouthpiece you mean Putin mouthpiece.

equally mouthpieces and DUI hires.

Not sure if you mistakenly wrote DUI (driving under influence) instead of DEI (Diversity, equity and inclusion) but both are equally appropriate under this admin

DUI was intentional. For someone who hated his older alcoholic brother so much, he sure surrounds himself with a bunch of drunks.

Look at the war maps, and see the change in territory over the last 6 months. You don’t have to write the response here but just draw a line as to where, if crossed, they’d have been better off taking the deal.

This guy thinks a reliable deal with russia is possible 🤣

So how does the war end? No deal ever? Complete Ukrainian conquest all the way to Moscow?

The deal available six months ago would have meant Ukraine losing a LOT more territory AND the ability to defend the rest. It would have been suicidal to take the deal that was offered.

Efficiency and making do in an environment where support is tenuous and unpredictable naturally means integration.

Forced adaption will do that. Other nations, like my own, are in the same if not worse boat (see rubber dingy)

“When I served in the military, the mantra was ‘shoot, move and communicate,’” I feel like this is still the mantra considering we bombed a bunch of school kids on day 1 of iran

I guess when your military is very powerful it's easier to get away with sloppy work since there are few consequences.

Whomdoes it first and better will always be the survivor. Mission command FTW.

An unfortunate case of outdated intel. The school \*was\* an active part of an IRGC facility which surrounds it, but that part was turned into a school later. The reaction would, I suspect, be a little bit different from the Iranian authorities had they even knowingly struck an on-base school at a US airbase.

From my understanding it was a school for over 12 years, so crazy outdated

Ye, this is true. Fact is though, they could have checked public info and they would have noticed that it was now used as a school. That is just sloppy, and could have been easily avoided

which is why they gutted the civilian protection office in the pentagon first, yes. https://www.theatlantic.com/national-security/2026/03/us-civilian-casualties-iran/686292/

No doubt. A colossal blunder is a colossal blunder - especially assuming it was someone trusting Palantir wholesale (all the more ironic given Karp's statements).

Could have been done on purpose considering Hegseths narrative.  Apparently a lot of IRGC officers children attented that school.

Yeah nah What total shit have you been reading my dude oh wait we're on listnook

What purpose would it serve to deliberately slaughter 200 Iranian schoolchildren? I operate on the assumption it was a tragic (and avoidable) mistake. “Hegseth is evil” is an insufficient response for me, by the way.

Necessity is the mother of innovation

Turns out real innovation happens when your survival depends on it.

And this is real reason no one wants to stop the war. It's a proving ground for all the defense contractors. We really need to cease production of all the antiquated systems we currently employ. Ukraine has shown, and Iran to a smaller degree, drones and less man intensive weapons are the future

From a cold geopolitical perspective, the continuance of the war also serves us by weakening a primary antagonist while costing us very little.
1
hiricinee 3 hr ago +1
Us should quit NATO and just form an alliance directly with Ukraine.
