You have to read the article, the headline doesn't do it justice.

Once contact was established, the man received precise instructions on movement routes and how to navigate Russian checkpoints. Due to intense fire and the inability to use vehicles, he traveled roughly 10 kilometers by bicycle to reach a designated rendezvous point. Throughout the operation, he remained under constant surveillance by reconnaissance drones and was covered by FPV drones. Ukrainian forces also struck Russian checkpoints along the route to create a safer corridor for extraction. Wow.

All after he’d been shot after shooting and killing two Russian soldiers while defending his home. AND had to escape the hospital with Russians having him on a target list Meaning he had to walk/ride a bike for 60km with a gunshot wound, then stay hidden from an active search until he managed to get in contact with Ukraine.

This story is the perfect setup for a movie. Maybe a *The Martian*-style one, where plot A covers this guy's capture and escape, and plot B covers Ukraine learning about him and planning his rescue.

This is the sort of story 90% of action movies try to capture the mood of and fail. Just incredible.

You are right. The headline doesn't do it justice.

There is a linked story part way down the article about a Ukrainian soldier named “Positive” which is equally if not more impressive.

Bro casually bicycled 10km through the Russian frontlines while Ukrainian drones threw decoys at the Russians. I can’t wait for the movie, Michael Bay better direct it.

To be fair, he probably blended in quite well with the Russian fodder that way. A donkey would have worked too.

Honestly, sounds like a story easily adapted to a movie.

I like how the title of this post says "soldier" not "soldiers". It makes it seem like he was just making one man's life hell for years.

The title is correct and you just aren’t reading it right. He killed a Russian soldier and he’s been on the run since the title is clear and says what happened

Well he *did* shoot a second soldier, just less fatally.

Hopefully he doesn't get conscripted into the assault battalions. Deserves a full pardon from service...
