The brass balls on her to prattle on and on about violence against women and girls and then refuse a comprehensive grooming gangs enquiry because it would incriminate part of her voter base… these people have no actual values.

This is really useless, just destabilising the government and country

For those calling for his resignation - follow their handlers. In whose interests is it to destabilise a government that has enacted policies to help the population at the expense of billionaire moguls?

It's about about power really. They are quitting to try and get a leader in who will promote them to a more powerful job.

That’s not necessarily how it works in the UK. There already is a cabinet that’s handpicked by the party leader, and the back benchers and ministers wouldn’t necessarily be getting a more “powerful” position with a new leader.
To me this reeks of self aggrandising power grabs; backed by billionaires; amalgamated with an era of shortsighted TikTok politics requiring immediate gratification changes.

I don't think that's quite right. It's certainly a power grab and your point around 'instant gratification' in politics these days is absolutely right.
But Zubir Ahmed for example was a very junior health minister, but he's a close ally of Streeting. If Streeting becomes PM he would certainly join the cabinet, so he resigns to try and push for Starmer to go.
And of course there are some who believe Streeting would actually improve electoral prospects, which I doubt.

Considering Streeting is in bed with big pharma and has appointed himself an authority above NICE, I highly doubt he would improve anything.
I hasten to question the judgment and intentions of anyone who is a close ally to Streeting, and their role to play in the erosion and destabilisation of the current government.

I agree. I really dislike Streeting tbh.
If Starmer has to go (although I really think stability would be good), I want Burnham.

Burnham is no better.
Firstly, he knew that taking the Manchester mayor job would make him ineligible for parliament, so why then is he now sticking his nose in Westminster when he already made his choice? It again reeks of self aggrandising, untrustworthy power grabs.
Furthermore, he gave away £700 million of Manchester taxpayer money as a “loan” to a billionaire property developer with very little oversight, who has then promptly left the country and taken those millions to Monaco where he now resides. The properties that were agreed to will never be built.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/11/30/andy-burnham-taxpayer-skyscraper-tycoon-monaco/
The very same thing the tories were lambasted for - giving contracts to their billionaire buddies - Burnham has done.
I really dislike him as well as Streeting.

That's true. But I just don't see anyone better honestly.
Tax-avoidance Rayner. Miliband who has already lost a winnable election.
My thoughts were simply that Burnham has the best chance to stop Farage.

That’s the joke. There is no one better.
The fact that Keir is “boring” and “uncharismatic” ironically makes him the best person for the job, because he’s not a populist, nor does he come across as being overtly self serving or owned by billionaires.
I don’t think Burnham would stop Farage. He can barely govern Manchester, much less be the leader of a nation. I wouldn’t trust him to put the British public first.

I agree.
I think the media has been absolutely desperate to get everyone to hate Starmer. But it's worked.
Everyone does hate him, and I just don't think he has the chance to win another election.

You know, they are all a bunch of back stabbing cunts. I dont like Starmer and hate his voice, but he's done ok all things considered.
What you have is a bunch of overrated MPs who think they can do better, i know f*** all about this Streeting bloke but he looks like he's just done his A-Levels and heading off for a gap year.

He’s 43, surprisingly enough.
But to be honest, I’m broadly in agreement. If Starmer’s done anything significantly wrong, it’s that he’s underestimated the work involved in managing the media.

Streeting is one of the biggest toadies in the party. Everything Starmer did to piss off the public is stuff he backed so you can expect more of the same from him if he ever got into No10.
More censorship.
More surveillance.
More Palantir.

He handled Trump perfectly. Ignored the bollocks coming out of his and Elon's mouths. Played it nice to hopefully lessen the tariffs that we were going to get hit with. I think he did well to navigate dealing with the world's biggest d*** heads.

He just hasn't done anything at all

I know their messaging is bad, but to say they haven’t done anything at all is profoundly ignorant.

Renters act, employees act, starting nationalisation of trainlines, the emergence of GB energy which is public owned, improvements on NHS wait times and appointments.
These are all things that have happened in the last 21 months under Labour.

None of this matters.
Murdoch’s crew, the whole right-wing press, Russia’s IRA and whatever we call Cambridge Analytica this week have already decided they’re pushing this government over, it will be non-stop vitriol until it happens.
Has nothing to do with anything else, the UK elections were always one of their main goals, swinging to UKIP/ReformUK is their ideal outcome.
Ironically now Putin would have been better off with the UK in the EU to help disrupt the EU, they’re less useful as literally an isolated island, but, you work with what you have, and the hope is to take France in the elections next year and truly isolate Ukraine.

I kinda feel like this is just being pushed by the conservative press in the UK a little too much to be believable. I imagine the guy really does suck but... whatever.

After watching Sky News yesterday morning, I’m pretty sure that most of this mess is the news media’s fault. They were like a bunch of mad barking dogs outside Downing Street yesterday, pouncing on anyone who entered or left No 10.
The press are out for Starmer’s blood and won’t be happy until they’ve invoked a rebellion.
