Unless people support me, Trump habitually warns, 'we won't have a country anymore'
The president's predictions of the nation's imminent demise reflect his narcissistic authoritarianism.

Translation: “As long as people support me, I will continue destroying this country.”

jediporcupine Apr 1, 2026 +142
And if you don’t support him, he will destroy the country anyway.

Dysc Apr 1, 2026 +39
He never did like all these minorities running around. He has to move all the nice stuff to his private properties and then make the place unlivable so people go away. This includes: Brown people, black people, poor people of all color (net worth under 1M USD), service members who got captured, probably service members who don't get captured, former US presidents, everyone in his last administration, Rosie O'Donnell, Windmills, and trashy looking MAGA supporters. Just to name a few. This will make the country safe and make more room for Russians and Saudis who pay for a 5 million dollar Trump Gold Citizen card. Putin gets in for free.

xterminatr Apr 1, 2026 +1
The best part about your comment is the last sentence. Yesterday in his press conference (which was unbelievable even for Trump) he went on and on about how ending birthright citizenship was to stop rich foreigners from just bringing in 50 children to be citizens, his actual words, but he literally has a pay to be a citizen pathway for rich foreigners.
1
Affectionate_Buy_830 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yea. He wants them to pay him lots of money to come here, not come the normal way.
1
Dysc Apr 1, 2026 +1
Correct. For Trump, America/USA is his now under his personal Trump brand and he only wants VIPs in his private club. Anyone with general admission tickets will be moved to the overflow parking lot to make room in the venue so he can have plenty of room to do his double dong dance with all VIP eyes on him with YMCA turned up to 11. You would think this is a terrible business plan for a business president. And you would be correct. He isn't a business man. He's a nepo baby who is used to getting whatever the hell he wants without any lip from people he considers below him. Which is everyone. Except for Putin. Even his own grand daughter's picture is hung below Putin's picture in what is left of the White House.
1
Dysc Apr 1, 2026 +1
Ha, I didn't know he made that comment. I've been through enough US Presidents to say for certain that this one is the most waffle-y, back-and-forth, workshop ideas in real time, pass the buck, play the victim, and pretend all bad ideas was your idea. He's a gaslighting moron who doesn't actually know what he wants and just knows that he has to have his inner feelings satisfied. He feels it in his bones. Spoilers, he's never going to be satisfied. So many more people will be thrown under the Trump bus, up-to-and-including all of us with the collective power he wields as the current POTUS.
1
Aggressive-Will-4500 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Also, trump has a history of "bringing in" foreigners and making them American citizens.
1
Be-skeptical Apr 1, 2026 +1
Do or do not he will destroy
1
Feral_Sheep_ Apr 1, 2026 +1
That's a hell of a catch, that catch 22.
1
theresanrforthat Apr 1, 2026 +9
Yes, we need to treat this like the threat it is.
9
gdshaffe Apr 1, 2026 +1
He is going to destroy the country regardless.
1
Simple_Quiet_1422 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Actual translation: “I’m destroying the country either way.”
1
Phronias Apr 1, 2026 +1
Or, we had a country till l stuffed it up. Please support my efforts to make it great again.
1
surlysurfer Apr 1, 2026 +158
We kinda don't have a country anymore. I feel like I'm just squatting in the ruins.
158
Hacker-Dave Apr 1, 2026 +1
I sure feel like I'm in the middle of a hostage situation
1

well said.

Crusader-NZ- Apr 1, 2026 +1
He seems hellbent on making that a reality for the rest of us too.
1
Bored_Acolyte_44 Apr 1, 2026 +1
It is your reality right now. If you don't feel like it is the surprise ending is going to really suck.
1
howdudo Apr 1, 2026 +1
Nah New Zealanders and Aussies will be fine. Truly they are greater America. More established in the values that used to make the US great with less murdering people around the world but still with lots of resources
1
Bored_Acolyte_44 Apr 1, 2026 +1
You sure about that? You must have forgotten about those fires that were rampaging across Australia or the recent reports on the habitability of the north. Last I heard New Zealand was about to hit a major diesel shortage.
1
howdudo Apr 1, 2026 +1
lol Australia has huge swaths of non populated areas. California has fires too. It's not surprising. Diesel? They are more prepared than other countries with renewables. Plus Australia has a good relationship with them and would help them out if needed.
1
Bored_Acolyte_44 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Not non populated. Uninhabitable. And I think you're overestimating Australia's reserves if you think they can pan out diesel in enough quantity to cover an entire other countries lack of it. Even if they could, that only lasts for so long before something breaks.
1
geoken Apr 1, 2026 +1
Think of the job creation potential. The current industry for tearing down monuments and reselling the materials is virtually non existent. But it could be employing 10s of thousands.
1
Streblow Apr 1, 2026 +1
How dare you speak of the Holy American Empire that way!
1
NukeTown75 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Hey what about that constitution ? Does it not mean anything to you ?
1
FizzyBeverage Apr 1, 2026 +89
Dude **really** thinks he's gonna live to be 145 years old and keep the presidency until then. At 79 with his wealth? I'd be on a yacht sailing to little islands in the pacific the rest of my life and you'd never hear from me again. With two cankles already in the grave and dozing off in every meeting? I don't think he **truly** appreciates how little time he has left.
89
Begmypard Apr 1, 2026 +59
He, uh, kind of has to stay away from little islands.... for... reasons.
59
forthewatch39 Apr 1, 2026 +28
He has been getting away with everything his whole life and he has outlived people who were seemingly far more healthy than him. It is of little wonder that he believes he has several years ahead of him. Knowing how much Death loves irony, he probably will live another 20 to 30 years just to spite everyone. May we hope scientists don’t find a way to upload people’s consciousness into machines just yet. Last thing we need is for him to be essentially immortal.
28
Tichrimo Apr 1, 2026 +1
Oh god... Just thinking about him outliving healthier / better people, the disrespect shown to Robert Muller would pale in comparison to the screed from the White House were Biden to pass.
1
PM_ME_YOUR_ROTES Apr 1, 2026 +1
His entire consciousness would fit on a 5.25 floppy with space left
1
legomaximumfigure Apr 1, 2026 +1
Depends on the immortality, if he is stuck in a box with nothing to read but Hillary Clinton's emails or the Epstein files for all eternity, I be cool with letting him stay.
1
dakilazical_253 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Jokes on you, Trump can’t read
1
nkassis Apr 1, 2026 +1
This is why most of us would never make it to billionaires, we would realize at some point we won the game and it's time for a new hobby. These people are never satisfied they just want more more more all the time. Unless they own the earth and solar system they are unhappy. Actually even then they will be unhappy. It's a mental illness we just accept as a society and often reward.
1
gringledoom Apr 1, 2026 +1
I think it's made worse by the fact that at some point, more money doesn't change much, and it makes them extra insane. Bezos has $300 billion, but a guy with $3 billion could have afforded the ridiculous wedding too, if he wanted it. Whereas the day-to-day quality of life of a guy with $10mm and a guy with $100k are very different.
1
barley_wine Apr 1, 2026 +1
I think most of the people who hoard this much wealth are the kinds of people that you'll always hear from relentlessly, they think they hoarded this much because of their own gifts and don't give any credit to the type of luck (being born rich in Trumps case) played into it. A normal person would have enough and just be content with being richer than 99% of everyone else.
1
Purify5 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Trump bought a yacht once from a Saudi arms dealer. He liked using it to brag but he didn't like going out on the water.
1
Phronias Apr 1, 2026 +1
He'll be beyond orange and will likely resemble a pumpkin.
1
Nux87xun Apr 1, 2026 +1
I don't think he *can*. I read somewhere that narcissist think/feel that they will live forever because of something related to how their messed up brains work.
1
kleekai_gsd Apr 1, 2026 +1
Greed and power hungry. Obama and others live rent free in his head
1
charcoalist Apr 1, 2026 +1
I truly believe he's setting up donald jr. to take over once he passes. Unconstitutional, of course, but that hasn't stopped any of his decisions. Vance would cede since he's close "friends" with Jr., and was probably vetted about this before being selected by the trumps. Meanwhile, Jr is running a private club near the White House called the "Executive Branch," [where he holds court with trump's cabinet members.](https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2025/09/08/scott-bessent-bill-pulte-blowup-00549956) The Republican party itself has proven time and again that they are more loyal to trump than the country.

Murderer: Unless you let me kill you, you won't have a life any more
36
barley_wine Apr 1, 2026 +8
I broke it and only I can fix it.
8
xterminatr Apr 1, 2026 +1
I broke it and now it's your problem, it wasn't my fault.
1
Kantsas Apr 1, 2026 +29
When this corporation we call a country finally burns down I can only hope we have the chance to rebuild it correctly.
29
jemappellejimbo Apr 1, 2026 +1
No rebuilding is happening until yt people deconstruct their racism and/or their apathy to racism. Until then, a grifter offering racism it will be.
1
Spectral_mahknovist Apr 1, 2026 +1
I feel like we can definitely get the racism down but apathy is a pretty fundamental human trait lol
1
jemappellejimbo Apr 1, 2026 +1
Apathy goes hand in hand with racism. Its apparent with the ever increasing police state - yt people have accepted armed militia at airports just cuz they’re not on the target list (yet)
1
ClancysLegendaryRed Apr 1, 2026 +1
maybe using a slur for white people isn't the best starting point.
1
jemappellejimbo Apr 1, 2026 +1
What?
1
Onemandrinkinggamess Apr 1, 2026 +1
Yeah we’re not doing this whole unregulated neoliberal capitalist thing anymore. Trump isn’t an anomaly, he’s a symptom.
1
Solonohioperson Apr 1, 2026 +15
This is what he always says. The country (though flawed) is pretty great without him and would be even better if he were in jail.
15
Oleg101 Apr 1, 2026 +1
But the issue is there’s still the entire Republican Party that this country seems to love voting into power and majorities.
1
Solonohioperson Apr 1, 2026 +1
I'd wager even the Republican party would be better without him if he had never showed up or even if he were in jail now. Still crazy and corrupt but not as.
1
Broken-Digital-Clock Apr 1, 2026 +1
He showed them that they can get away with more corruption, faster, and in broad daylight.
1
birdlegs000 Apr 1, 2026 +13
I feel this to mean, if people don't support me I will spitefully destroy the country.
13
Intolerance-Paradox Apr 1, 2026 +1
Nice country you have here, it’d be a shame if it got destroyed.
1
CockBrother Apr 1, 2026 +10
I just can't imagine what the country would be like if it weren't for Trump's 250 years of solid leadership.
10
Icy_Assist4467 Apr 1, 2026 +13

It’s my duty as an American to tell you to go f*** yourself Donny. You’re a thief who steals from hardworking Americans, an a****** who burns bridges with our allies, a pedophile rapist who destroys children, a shit business “man” who runs everything into the ground and you’re not even 1/100000000th of Joe Biden. You’re an un-American traitor with the thinnest skin imaginable. Get fucked.
12
Schlonzig Apr 1, 2026 +1
He always sounds like an abuser.
1
HandrewJobert Apr 1, 2026 +1
He literally is one, so that tracks
1
PastorNTraining Apr 1, 2026 +1
What he’s saying is 1984 double speak. When he does or says things are “For America” he isn’t referring to us, he’s solely speaking about himself. He does this a lot, anytime he say something is “for The country” he means himself
1
TheCaptainDamnIt Apr 1, 2026 +1
I'm gonna beg to differ in this case. "We Won't Have a Country Anymore" is a white supremacist dogwhistle. When MAGA talk about 'the 'country' they only mean white people. It's the whole JD Vance 'heritage Americans' shit. In this case Trump isn't just speaking about himself, he's saying )and MAGA hears) if people don't support him non-white people will 'take over'.
1
PastorNTraining Apr 1, 2026 +1
Thank you for that, I study white Christian nationalism and my gosh do they have a box of those whistles. I didn’t realize this was yet another one
1
Daeveed Apr 1, 2026 +1
Himself and the billionaire class. The working class are “unpeople” and don’t matter to these people except for labour, until robots can replace us. Then we’ll just be a nuisance.
1
whythesquid Apr 1, 2026 +6
I for one would like to test his hypothesis. Let's try this whole thing without a Trump for a couple months and see where that takes us. We could start... tomorrow? today?
6
Zanos-Ixshlae Apr 1, 2026 +1
So, if we don't give him unconditional love and support he'll hurt us. This is abuser talk. "We had better do what he wants if we know what's good for us. Why do we make him hurt us so bad? This hurts him more than it does us? He'll show us how a little girl is supposed to act?"
1
Exact_Platypus5179 Apr 1, 2026 +8
Go away forever you disgusting monster
8
Avoidtolls Apr 1, 2026 +5
That's cause he'll kill us all. He'll obliterate this country with nuclear weapons before he goes down.

1

What kind of childish tantrum timeline is this?!
1
Nthepeanutgallery Apr 1, 2026 +1
A country run by a credibly accused pedophile with the enthusiastic consent of legislators covering up his crimes doesn't deserve to survive. We want America back.
1
peter-man-hello Apr 1, 2026 +1
It’s just become more and more fascist by the day. It’s wild to see. And wild that a large portion of Americans are so vile they support it.
1
zeroaxs Apr 1, 2026 +1
Well then let’s let it die. Cuz having no country is better than having Dump.

Never have I ever seen a more desperate man for people to like him. His own self hatred, buried deep under all that narcissistic bullshit must be… a canyon
1
ChymickGaming Apr 1, 2026 +1
It’s part of his domestic abuse. He gaslights. He makes threats. He creates conflict. Then, he disappears for his “me time” to play golf or surf through social media for mentions of himself. Like any domestic abuse victim, the world is counting down the days until he draws his last breath. Have another Bic Mac, Don. Have two. No loud judgements, only quiet hopes. Dig in. Enjoy.

1
spirit-mush Apr 1, 2026 +1
Everything accusation is a confession. He’s dismantled every check and balance. He’s eroded the rule of law. He has defunded any office that produces data that can be used to hold him accountable. He has embezzled funds to fund his family’s personal wealth. If America continues on this path, it will end up like Trump university, Trump c*****, Trump charity, and Trump steaks.
1

I'm sure many people already realise this, at this point MAGA (not Republicans per se) is a cult. It's more useful for people to learn about "deprogramming" than actually finding logical argument.

Trump always has excuses lined up. Fauci made him do it. Lindsey made him do it. Pence wasn’t strong enough to steal the election. He doesn’t know what’s going on, because no one told him. Pete and Jared made him start the war. Fake news is so unfair This is a new one though. “I did my job better than anyone in the history of the country, but because you didn’t love me it didn’t work”.

Our country has been taken over by traitors. Israel and Russia own and operate our government. F****** gross. RIP USA.

If he's not jailed, we will not have a country anymore.

supporting him is why we currently hardly have a country. we’ve lost so much soft and hard power in just the last year. it’s f****** sad.

I would argue the country is more and more unrecognizable under his leadership.

I’d rather have no country that one led by this POS

He conflates his existence with “the country.” He is that narcissistic. He cannot comprehend other people and reality existing without him.

We already don't have a country. Putin used his pawn Krasnov to destroy what we built for 250 years.

Because he’s gonna burn it all down?

Simpicity Apr 1, 2026 +1
Can we go back to not having a country anymore again then? Because whatever this guy is doing is clearly not right.

utlayolisdi Apr 1, 2026 +1
No, we will have a country but without you, Donnie boy.

Personally, I don't think that people who r*** children SHOULD have a country. Particularly people who r*** children and betray their country. Drop this disgusting creep off somewhere in Siberia with his pedo-pals.

The country is almost gone due to the actions of the billionaires and greed for power all Americans suffer except the insane greedy liars

You don’t demand support if what you are doing isn’t popular. His base may actually be fracturing if he’s flailing this much.

codacoda74 Apr 1, 2026 +1
he's partially right here. he, and his supporters when he loses control, will indeed not have open welcome mat for their "you're oppressing me by not letting me oppress you" style.

Terrible article, if you read it is about Trump saying IRAN won't have a country anymore, and then goes on to talk about Trump saying we won't have a country anymore if he loses in 2016 and 2024, during his elections. Clickbait bot. (FYI I will be dancing on Trump's grave, just saying this article is intentionally misleading)

> (FYI I will be dancing on Trump's grave, just saying this article is intentionally misleading) No, you’ll be on the sidelines saying “um actually guys it’s not his grave it’s grass you’re dancing on. His grave is 6ft below you.”

He is going to drop a Nuke and have a false flag in Los Angeles before the World Cup so he can send agents of chaos to polling places in Democratic strongholds. He never plans on leaving the White House.
