The planned toxic releases are much more effective

The release forces are so toxic.

You joke but the entire point of industrial permitting is planning toxic releases so that they don’t adversely impact communities.

Yes, that's because it's not a big deal. It's a small quantity release, and they happen all the time in manufacturing. You just never hear about it. You would need to release multiple orders of magnitude more of this chemical for it to be considered an EPA issue.

My contact said desk jockeys were at the helm due to the strike. Shoulda paid them union boys.

What's with all these workers these days asking for wages they can survive on? Does their greed have no bounds?...

Should help in the negotiations. [From CDC.gov:](https://wwwn.cdc.gov/TSP/ToxFAQs/ToxFAQsDetails.aspx?faqid=663&toxid=122) > If moisture is in the air, titanium tetrachloride reacts rapidly with it to form hydrochloric acid and other titanium compounds, such as titanium hydroxide and titanium oxychlorides. That sounds unpleasant.

Meh. The whole town probably smells like an improperly balanced swimming pool. If the smell isn’t srsly bothering you you’re safe in the short term. I’d move anyone with copd or other breathing difficulties well away but this isn’t like PFOA or butadiene with cancer and other lasting risks unless you get a concentrated dose (which you would def know). Source: have breathed in (dilute) HCL gas off a lab experiment

“Unplanned toxic release” sounds like something HR would say about management decisions. Jokes aside, if you’re nearby, maybe check your local air quality alerts and keep windows closed until officials give the all-clear.

At least TiCL can clear within an hour or two. Hopefully everyone around there is fine though 🙏

Did someone's drinking bird fall over and mess up the venting process?

Coincidence that this happened while workers are on strike 🤔

Appears Cleveland 19 answers to someone that has a stake in the Ashtabula Plant which seems like a conflict of interest. I’m sure Carr and the FCC will take immediate action in interest of the public.

There are a number of chemical plants on the shoreline, south side of Sarnia Canada. They have an alert system that includes a loud horn whenever there is a chemical spill. Funny thing about chemical spills into the Saint Clair river, according to both governments and all the industries involved, the chemicals respect international borders. Not one molecule of chemicals spilled on either side of the river ever cross the international line to the other side. Isn't that amazing? Now those are some seriously woke molecules. /s
