First, he was also only ever in the reserves, never active duty. I did 9 years in the Air National Guard, and honestly, my entire time in the military, i can tell you, Infantry is the dumbest of the dumb. In modern warfare, they really serve a minimal job of just honestly catching bullets. People who enlist in Infantry do so because they either are too dumb for anything else or they want to rank up quickly and easily so they can transfer to a good military job. An Infantry officer is the same. And Hegseth didn't even make it past O3 while he was in, meaning he never really did any of the high level planning for Infantry movements and such, nor held a clearance level above "confidential". He has no business leading people who have spent over 20 years refining their military objectives.
