Here's the thing: Everyone involved in the orders in any way shape or form is also committing the war crime. So it's no longer just the Commander in Chief. Everyone taking an action in any way should perform in this is also guilty of a war crime. As the Democrats noted, service members have a duty and responsibility to refuse illegal orders.

Is the us trying to keep the Iranian army on one side of the bridge? It's all Iran. I get why a bridge would be a legitimate target, and don't doubt that this one may be, but there needs to be a military objective for this sort of thing to be kosher. Not just pain for the populace. 

Can you find an example in US history where we held anyone accountable for targeting power infrastructure? 20th or 21st century would be fine.

You would be hard pressed to find a major 20th-century US intervention that didn’t involve the significant destruction of civilian-adjacent infrastructure.. the 21st century hasn't been any different.

You forgot to take into consideration climate change. Life will only be getting worse for the vast majority of the world from now on. It's not a coincidence most of the "free world" is getting more authoritarian. Inequalities are rising, the number of migrants is rising (and will keep rising, thanks to climate change), and on and on...

Here’s the scary part. You’re probably correct. Which then likely means some form of a civil war or breakup of the union. I fear for the post Trump years where we either have a populist who is liked by ~1/2 the country and hated by the other ~1/2 or a Biden like president where people just begrudgingly elect them and they’re unable to get us out of this mess. Either way a path back to being a global leader is not clear. The Trump presidency is a massive victory for China, you could also say it’s good for Russia but you can’t count out Europe there. The sad part for us is all China had to do was focus on domestic growth and Trump handed them the world. China didn’t have to drop a single bomb to become what they are right now; yes they’ve committed atrocities but are this atrocities any worse than the ones America has committed?

It’s absolutely infuriating the same people who (at times rightly) shit on Biden, have zero ability to recognize the same reality we now have with Trump. The tomahawk strike on a girls school (which Trump denied after the military confirmed) was also a double tap. Apparently double tapping has been integrated into modern military doctrine. Israel does it a lot.
