~~There was an investigative article about something similar to this on Super Micro 4-5 years back now that was redacted. I recall at the time the comments seemed to think the article was bunk. But I assume this is the outcome.~~
I remembered wrong story, reasonable_ticket_84 posted a summary of that one.

Bloomberg wrote a hit piece a few years alleging supermicro boards somehow had physically impossible chinese spy chips on them. Something that every experienced electrical engineer in the world said "no that photo is of a ferrite you f****** braindead dipshts". But after being made a laughing stock a thousand times over in the engineering world, Bloomberg refused to retract the hit piece.
These smuggling allegations are unrelated. And if you scour the internet, they aren't the only OEM smuggling GPUs.

In the movie he also said we were probably gonna be at war with the Chinese in 20 years. The movie came out in 2006…

It wasn't exactly prescient. People have been predicting an eventual war with China since the Cultural Revolution.

Don't worry about these guys. Trump will pardon them. It'll be fine.

If the U.S. DOJ is saying it, it must not be true. Someone is getting railroaded because Trump lost money.

Yeah… probably not.
There have been plenty of news articles of china somehow getting chips they shouldn’t have for a few years now

There’s a big ai race going on right now. They have every reason to do whatever they can to get an edge.
