Yeah, he still hasn’t realized that you can’t just force them. You have to give them a deal they want.

All he knows to do is forcing someone to do something against their will.

If you ever listen to Trump describe how own deal making, that is only thing he knows how to do. He has bragged about it multiple times, it always goes exactly the same way: “Give me what I want!” “Sorry we can’t do that.”  “Give me what I want or else!” “We’re not giving it to you.” “Give me what I want or I put a 100000% tariff on you.” “Ok we’ll give you what you want, you’re a tough negotiator President Trump.” That’s literally how he describes every single “deal” he makes. There’s never any cleverness or compromise, he just tries to bully people. That’s what he thinks deals are, not mutually beneficial agreements, but something to “win” and humiliate the other party.

That’s how business was for him too and why everything would go bankrupt. He wouldn’t make good deals. He would rip off contractors and steal small amounts of money, while losing money on the big stuff in exchange for publicity.

Mythosaurus May 7, 2026 +26
And that would have to include reparations. Trump broke the original deal and repeatedly attacked Iran, so it’s only fair

But also does the word ceasefire even mean anything anymore?
1
One_Study52 May 10, 2026 +1
It means that the powerful side keeps killing while the weak side stops.

sarhoshamiral May 7, 2026 +1
We could force them but it will require forces on ground which congress doesn't have the appetite for.
1
One_Study52 May 7, 2026 -1
If they decide to do that, I hope those forces get slaughtered like the pigs they are.

They don’t really have a say in it unless they want to be sent to military prison for the next decade.

Obama had an agreement.

LittleKitty235 May 7, 2026 +17
But with the art of the deal we spent ≈$25 billion dollars and might get some of that stuff back in the new deal! Also $5 gas for the foreseeable future
17
Kapowpow May 7, 2026 +11
We spent a heck of a lot more. The $25 billion is just ammunition. Repairing bases, replacing lost hardware, this is going to cost an eye watering amount of money.

> There is no deal yet, but provisions include a moratorium on Iranian uranium enrichment, lifting of U.S. sanctions, distribution of frozen Iranian funds and opening the strait for ships. Ahem, **we already had all this before the pedo started bombing as a distraction from the Epstein files**. Obama negotiated limits on Iran's nuclear program. Guess which thin-skinned pedo decided to withdraw during his first term?

roosterthumper May 7, 2026 +32
Yeah but this one returns MORE money to Iran and keeps the Epstein files out of the news cycle.

AuroraFinem May 7, 2026 +15
Trump backed out of the Iran deal in 2016, they were enriching up to 20-40% with very limited quantity beyond that. Now that have around 10 tons enriched to 60% based on the UN’s IAEA findings (not the US). The only reason Trump bombed them is because Netanyahu asked him to and convinced him Iran’s regime would fall because of it. He’s asked the previous 3 presidents to do the same and has always been rejected.

This is how mob bosses negotiate, except in this case Iran just laughs in his face and says "f*** off, dipshit". What he thinks of himself and what the world thinks of him are two completely opposite things. He's pathetic.

Carribean-Diver May 7, 2026 +12
No. This is second Iran war. It's like soccer playoffs. The clock ran out on the first one. Totally legal.

It's a fair bet those sailors are just ordinary civilians. Firing on civilians is the kind of act of war that requires Congress to officially declare this a war by virtue of a vote. Absent that (and maybe even if) firing on unarmed civilians is a crime against humanity that can be addressed in a omni-national court.

High gas is baked in for the foreseeable future now. We are now simply waiting to see just how high it gets.

It is really too late already to see anything other than sharp increases as summer demand starts to kick in. It might not get *much* worse if things somehow came to a conclusion right away but if this drags on through the summer then it is going to get spicy when winter returns.

Is this one of the "defensive measure" firing on unarmed commercial shipping I heard the SoS talk about?

Gonstackk May 7, 2026 +5
Wait, I thought he won 37 wars, stopped another 50 and won/deal/won/deal/stopped/won/deal/terminated the war in Iran. (really hard to keep track of where it really is currently) If it was terminated then why is he firing on an Iranian ship to get a deal?

The rhetoric will just get more dangerous by the end of May as the oil futures start expiring. Right now oil futures are trading at around 100 dollars for Brent but in the physical market it is around 150. So if this is not fixed quickly by this month we will starting massive price hikes very soon.
