I find it hilarious that I have to ask: *Are we under ceasefire or not?*

kniq86 May 5, 2026 +70
It's little attacks so it doesn't count.. I guess

Gotta restart the 60 day clock

June_Fatality May 5, 2026 +13
It's the little attacks that count the most ❤️

digidave1 May 5, 2026 +5
They're not attacks, they're squabbles. That way they don't need to ask Comgress for permission to spend all your tax money on weapons instead of healthcare.
5
Fedora_Million_Ankle May 5, 2026 +5
It wasn't about the war,, it was all the little attacks we met along the way.
5
r_a_d_ May 5, 2026 +20
Israeli style ceasefire…
20
tabrizzi May 5, 2026 +8
Soft ceasefire.
8
Xivvx May 5, 2026 +7
There is no ceasefire.
7
ClawingDevil May 5, 2026 +3
Then you'll see that it is not the ceasefire that breaks, it is only yourself.

Wi11Pow3r May 5, 2026 +3
We ARE in a ceasefire. We are NOT in a war. Is that really so hard to understand? /s
3
EstablishmentFull797 May 5, 2026 +4
We’ve always been under ceasefire with Eurasia.
4
gnartato May 5, 2026 +3
Obviously we are above the ceasefires.

Passive aggressive ceasefire
2
Rosu_Aprins May 5, 2026 +2
We're under the concept of a cease fire, and the strait of hormuz is physically open, they'll just ahoot at you.

jackrabbit323 May 5, 2026 +1
It's Tuesday so no-ish.

ShinySpoon May 5, 2026 +1
An insanely great question. It was asked of Kegbreath today. Here’s your answer: “The ceasefire has not over. This is new shit.” (and then a lot of bullshit evading answers) [https://youtube.com/shorts/oTLhUB9tpWs?si=JKw\_Z963c2MrIM10](https://youtube.com/shorts/oTLhUB9tpWs?si=JKw_Z963c2MrIM10)

1
ctothel May 6, 2026 +1
It’s also pretty wild that we have to ask why this war is happening at all
1
Aazadan May 6, 2026 +1
Ceasefire not cease explosion.
1
k987654321 May 5, 2026 +64
“No luck ceasing them fires then?” “It’s just the one ceasefire actually.”

Honestly this is one of the funniest lines in the film to me. It’s such a tiny throwaway line but it’s so good.

28
hukep May 5, 2026 +11
war was over 20 times already and will be at least 50 times more over. No need to hury. Gas is just 30 percent up.
11
RobertWayneLewisJr May 5, 2026 +8
No joke, they are basically saying Operation Epstein's Fury and Project Freedom are completely separate things. So they believe theoretically that they can create a new "project" to complete war objectives while the main "ceasefire" is happening. All while evading the 60 day deadline. Which even the ceasefire doesn't stop the clock on.
8
chubby_pink_donut May 5, 2026 +30
I bet Chuck Schumer is on his electric typewriter hammering out some "strong words" about this. When he wakes up from his nap he's going to lead this fight against Trump.
30
TheModWhoShaggedMe May 5, 2026 +9
Because 100+ million Americans taking matters into their own hands and taking to the streets of America in a work strike protest is non-existent, we pin all our hopes on the Senate minority leader?? Why? What about the Senate *majority leader*? You might not even know his name, it's Thune.
9
TranquilSeaOtter May 5, 2026 +4
Because we all know Republicans won't stop Trump. In fact, many Republicans are actively pushing for more war with more countries.
4
TheModWhoShaggedMe May 5, 2026 -3
That is the weakest excuse ever -- then why did a lot of you elect them into power if you won't hold them accountable?? The fact that we're not even calling for Thune to rebuke Trump is a huge issue. Why not even demand it?
-3
Soft_Walrus_3605 May 5, 2026 +6
>Why not even demand it? Because those Americans haven't felt the real pain of it yet.

Now all wars end after 59 days and start again the next day
6
Shopworn_Soul May 5, 2026 +3
To be fair, apparently you can tell Congress *literally anything* and y'know. It's all good.
3
NewsCards May 5, 2026 +26
> Trump told Congress the war was “terminated” and the deadline was moot, a claim disputed by some lawmakers. Also disputed by, uh, the real-world.

Souds like we are indeed still "at war." Time for Congress to weigh in. Congress? Hello?

Modern_Bear May 5, 2026 +6
Mike Johnson probably sent the House on a 6 month vacation, which explains the silence.

Kaliente13 May 5, 2026 +28
Iran is serious about defending themselves, who would have thought?
28
Infinite_Theory3453 May 5, 2026 +15
tensions rising again, doesn’t look like it’s settling anytime soon 😐
15
impulsekash May 5, 2026 +16
Reminder to all, even if there is a ceasefire and peace agreement at this very moment, it will take 6 months to clear the Strait of the mines, and over a year for gas prices to stabilize to pre-war prices.
16
slowlyaware May 5, 2026 +22
Pre-war prices 😂🤣😭
22
ElectroMagnetsYo May 5, 2026 +6
UAE leaving OPEC indicates to me that they’re planning on flooding the market once the strait is clear to fund reparations and to punish Iran economically.
6
BlueFalcon89 May 5, 2026 +3
For sure. The administration’s goal right now is to delay the gallows from chopping the economy into oblivion as long as possible. Shit will start to float soon.

Certain_Event558 May 5, 2026 +9
We make a lot of money when oil is this expensive a certain individual was saying
9
Toadfinger May 5, 2026 +2
Trump and Hegseth deliberately tried to move a ship through Hormuz. It's obvious they need a long war. It's Cheneyism 2.0.
2
jmantha May 5, 2026 +5
These are not international waters we’re talking about.
5
1mc112 May 5, 2026 +3
It is a ceasefire but there might be some fighting still but its so small that it doesn't matter cause we're in a ceasefire.

Trump said Covid would be over in a few weeks. It lasted years. Here we go again.

2
Nyrfan2017 May 6, 2026 +2
For a war we won three weeks ago it’s sure is going on for awhile
2
roller_coaster325 May 6, 2026 +2
I’d like to see a global survey asking ‘who do you thing is winning the war’, and ‘who do you think will eventually win the war’ If I had to guess. 80% Iran currently winning / 55% Iran will eventually win the war.
2
Zlifbar May 6, 2026 +2
“Wrestle for control”!!!?!!??? More like “random launch missiles at things to distract from how completely they’ve screwed up the region and world”
2
plaiidoh May 7, 2026 +2
Glad US soldiers are willing to sacrifice themselves for Zionists and billionaires 👍
2
VirtuaFighter6 May 5, 2026 +5
They are completely decimated. We have complete control of the air and sea. Right? Right?
5
Mutherfalker95 May 5, 2026 +2
Can someone tell me why the 'f***' we are doing this?
2
idoma21 May 5, 2026 +6
By request of Israel? That was what Vance said before the admin decided the “they had a nuclear bomb they were going to use on us” fantasy defense.
6
qomann May 6, 2026 +1
This escalation in the Strait of Hormuz is worrying but seems contained so far.According to reports, the US launched “Project Freedom” to e***** stranded commercial ships through the vital waterway (which carries ~20% of global oil).Iran responded with drones, missiles, and small boats. The US military says it sank 6 Iranian fast-attack boats, intercepted incoming threats, and successfully guided at least two commercial vessels through. Meanwhile, the UAE reported Iranian missile/drone attacks on its territory/oil facilities, which it intercepted most of.Both sides are framing it as defensive. US officials (including Defense Secretary Hegseth) are stressing that the broader ceasefire still holds and they’re not looking for a full return to war this is a limited effort to keep global shipping lanes open.Iran denies some of the attacks or calls them warnings.Hoping diplomacy (and backchannel talks) can de-escalate quickly.A prolonged disruption here would spike oil prices worldwide and hurt everyone. What do you all think is this just posturing around the ceasefire,or the start of something bigger?

US, the wet paper tiger with the weakest president in history. Absolutely delicious to see.

They can defend the straight for a very long time as they have the tactical advantage.  They control the entire area.  The US is just hemorrhaging tax payer dollars.  Ugh. Such a waste of money that we could have used to have healthcare.

>Let’s assume withdrawing or stopping military operations is not an option. Why do we have to assume that? That would be the best solution because we shouldn't have started this war to begin with. No thought or planning went into this war. It is 100% ego stroking for Trump and Hegseth. It really has a lot of similarity to Russia invading Ukraine, which was for Putin's ego.
3
ZantaraLost May 5, 2026 +2
Lol if the two most obvious answers are off the table then you're down to full mobilization and a new ground war in the Middle East with midterms approaching and a comparatively empty stockpile of needed weapons for such. So.... nuclear threats and/or lots of dead American soldiers. Edit: note, I'm not advocating for it, just pointing out the only modestly feasible options to get to the end point you spoke of.
2
TranquilSeaOtter May 5, 2026 +2
Drones are super c****. All it takes is threats of drones and ships won't cross because insurance companies will refuse to insure them if they get blown up. Iran will never not have enough money for drones which I'm sure Russia is also more than happy to supply. As long as the straight remains closed, Russia can sell their oil for inflated prices and with them being starved for money, are highly insentivized to support Iran.
