\*murders. Even if they *were* running drugs, the punishment is not to be blown up. You get a trial. The people who ordered this and the people who carried out the orders are all murderers.
761

and even if they got a trial and convicted, the punishment certainly wouldn't be a death penalty

Depends on where they are to be honest. China, Singapore, and several other Asian countries actually do execute people for drug trafficking. It usually only makes the news when they execute westerners. https://www.reuters.com/world/china/china-executes-french-citizen-convicted-drug-trafficking-2026-04-05/

Your comment has little to do with the comment you replied to. This happened in the Eastern Pacific.

Fair point for some reason I was reading Eastern Pacific but thinking East Asia.

Even if there were a just war, this definitely isn't it.

People smuggle drugs through airports constantly. Imagine if we started taking people on board inbound international flights and were just like, "we're really, really, sure you are bringing contraband into the country. So, we're going to blow you up dead now. Bye."

If they knew that there were drugs on the boat and it was coming to the US, they could have intercepted it and seized the drugs. Probably for less money than bombing them. The gain is propaganda. They are attempting to restructure the country and culture to be more like Russia. That's how these people think the world is supposed to work. Age of Enlightenment values are a weakness.

If Trump was doing this because he didn't want drugs to enter ther country, why did he pardon a notorious drug trafficker? If they wanted to prove that these strikes were done for the purpose of stopping drugs from entering the country, they could simply capture one of these boats instead of bombing it and killing the survivors to ensure there aren't any witnesses.

> The world isn’t black or white. Yeah, hence why we have trials. You are now arguing against the point that you just proposed. You are, very literally, arguing with yourself at this point.
6
sulris 1 day ago +13
That would be an excellent question to ask at a trial. You know, the thing used to determine if someone deserves to be punished and if so how stringently. The thing that is supposed to happen prior to handing out the death penalty. Innocent until proven guilty? Right to due process. If the U.S. navy admitted that it can’t tell the difference between a military installation and girls school, when bombing buildings (which famously don’t move and had been a school for like 10 years… why do you think they would be able to accurately tell the cargo of a small water vessels which moves around and can change cargo at every port it visits?

1) Speed boat? It sure as hell doesn't look like a Donzi or anything similar in the video. 2) Seems doubtful that capturing them would be more expensive than expending hellfire missiles ($$$) 3) Extrajudicial killings are bad, actually
15
pingpongpiggie 23 hr ago +12
> do u really think these are south American fishermen speeding around in speed boats? That's what court is for, idiot. Why have court at all? It's expensive and a waste of tax payer money; if the government said you're a criminal, f*** the trail, straight to jail. Why would I want my tax money wasted on a trial for you?
12
MorningDont 22 hr ago +9
So you think these random foreigners are less deserving of due process than American citizens? If so, why?
9
kayak_rolling 21 hr ago +8
We're wasting taxpayer money murdering people. Do you have any idea how expensive missiles are? If you did, you wouldn't be trying to argue this. They are speed boats that have no capability to make it to the US with their shit fuel consumption without many refuelings on the way. It doesn't add up at all. You've been duped by the liar in chief. Who is a pedophile.

Not internally consistant at all either, just a moment ago was lecturing us about how this is real life and things aren't black and white. So...hence trials and not summary executions for not capital perceived offenses outside of American jurisdiction?
3
NAh94 14 hr ago +2
You could bring a platoon of people to trial AND imprison them for the cost of hellfire missiles.

Look at how quickly we stopped talking about that girl school that got leveled in Theran. A massacre. Another god damn massacre. What Americans call 9/11, what they can remember through a simple date. That's a Tuesday elsewhere, and the USA is behind soo many of this atrocities.. It's constant.
366
kstargate-425 1 day ago +93
Yeah this massacre was absolutely preventable as well, but besides using AI to choose the targets weeks in advance, because Trump and Hegseth scrapped the Pentagon's program that was designed to verify targets and limit collateral damage, no one saw that they were using decade old maps and information about the strike. Then they hit it again around 40mins later to ensure maximum collateral damage and killing any rescue workers that would have came to help. Even then I'm not sure it wouldn't have mattered considering between the US & Israel over 600 schools, including close to 40 universities and 350ish hospitals and medical facilities so it seems like we have decided to go full mask off bad guy and follow in the footsteps of Israel and Russia who just two+ years ago Lindsey Graham was rightfully calling out for their double-tap and purposefully striking civilian buildings.
93
OlderThanMyParents 1 day ago +40
The infuriating part is, if you were genuinely interested in "regime change" then the LAST thing you would want to do is kill innocent kids, to turn the civilians against you. I sorta thought we might have learned that in Iraq and Afghanistan, but I guess the thing about this administration is their resolute determination to refuse to learn from past mistakes. No, we're going to destroy civilian infrastructure, electrical plants, water supply systems, as well as innocent civilans, and they'll come flocking to help us!

Despite having become very numb to tragedy over the years, the girls' school massacre is something that still lingers in the mind with sorrow for me, especially as it's slipped from the public discourse. It's no more nor less horrific than any of the other recent horrors, but it's where my sadness has to come rest for the moment.

Hey guys, Tuna here. Running in 2028. Super long shot, yada yada, but these people, all of them, need to be prosecuted for their crimes to the American people and the war crimes they’re committing against the rest of humanity. A reckoning is needed, this isn’t what America should or will be. We can fix this, I just need a little help from my friend!
19
alien2sick 1 day ago -4
You would be playing chess with them... They have everything already planned out... If we get violent they call us terrorists kill as many and turn this into an authoritarian country. If we do nothing they stage something and turn this into an authoritarian country. I'm hopeless tbh I feel like I've seen this all coming which is even sadder
-4
tunamctuna 1 day ago +8
That is how they want you to feel, defeated and alone. WE are still a nation for and of the people. WE just have to say enough. I’m not saying it’s easy but there are a lot more of us than them, WE need to remember that.
8
alien2sick 1 day ago
That's ok I give up on humanity.. I've been trying since highschool to wake people up.. most people don't really care about anything unless it directly effects them. I also highly doubt there are more people who truly care or the world wouldn't be how it is rn
0
tunamctuna 1 day ago +3
You are not alone and you’ve never been alone. The modern world is built to push and pull us, to find boxes we fit in, to separate us. The modern media landscape is bleak, controlled by those who have no incentive for the WE to realize that they aren’t alone. Again this is fixable. It’s not impossible. I believe humans are good on the whole, we just allow the worst of us to shape us. That can and will change. We know, we can and we should.
3
alien2sick 1 day ago +1
I am completely alone even when surrounded by people I know... Empathy compassion and understanding are lost.. like you said we let the worst of us shape us, that's why the world is desensitized to evil, and all about vanity
1
tunamctuna 1 day ago +3
Actually watch people. Spend time doing that. You’ll find the opposite is true. People stop to help each other. You can’t kill human empathy, it’s what got us here after all.
3
alien2sick 1 day ago +1
People help others for the attention of helping others. But if you watch people behind closed doors most of that care you see is thined out. I've watched people enough... I've watched the same people who preach about humanitarianism, talk about what they would do if the purge happened. I'm watching people talk about god but hate others.
1
tunamctuna 1 day ago +1
You can’t let despair win. You can still treat every human you interact with how you feel we should all be treated, with grace and dignity. It doesn’t matter what’s returned to you. It’s the fact you’re doing it that matters.

Stopping the drug trade one boat at a time. Republican morons will have this drug problem all cleaned up in about 200 years at this rate.
30
VerdantPathfinder 1 day ago +3
That's the worst part of this. Let's assume every person they murder actually is a drug smuggler. That's not remotely true, but give it to them. All this does is restrict supply, which raises prices. It's making the cartels richer and more powerful. It allows them to become more sophisticated.

I feel like there should be at least an *implication of proof* for something to be "alleged" in the news. If that proof was not provided, then a journalist should not have to worry about legal action if they were to assume this was just straight murder.
