Operation Epic Fury claims another 6 lives for nothing. Incredible how this war has resulted in absolutely nothing positive for the US so far. Lives lost, money wasted, military infrastructure damaged and gas price increases. The Art of the Deal am i right?

It’s a 500iq play really, take out the guy (86 years old with rumors he was battling colon cancer) who issued a fatwa against nuclear weapons so that his son (who was pro nukes) takes over after his dad, mom, wife and daughter died in that attack. Definitely an upgrade toward a safer planet
189
Money_Do_2 Mar 13, 2026 +106
Tbf, having nukes is the safest thing you can do. Everyone that has them avoids these scenarios, everyone that gives them up (Ukraine, Libya...) gets obliterated by the war machine. Nothing has ever beaten nuke's safety record. And the only country that ever used them on civilians is the one doing the attacking. We crafted the perfect nuclear proliferation scenario. And our cabinet is stuffed full of armageddon christians that want a world ending event.

If anything, this conflict has proven to everyone in Iran who was *PRO-MILITARISM* that they were unequivocally correct. The US *will* see Iranians killed for any reason at all. Now hopes of disarmament are gone.

It’s like those bits that John Oliver does on his show where he shows the audience something, then a couple minutes later calls them out for not realizing that what he showed them on the screen was completely wrong. He’ll then show the audience the correct version but then, once again, a few minutes later he tells the audience that he tricked them again and berates everyone for not knowing their shit.

U.S. funds are being burned away that will be needed later if we ever get a recovery from Republican treason and status quo. Soft power is being swept away to China. And whatever leverage the U.S. wants to try to pull later or whatever demands it wants to holler if China or anyone else gets rowdy can be whatabouted right the f*** out.

Apparently they arent counting members of the intelligence community, or contractors in their casualty numbers being released. Only uniformed military.
70
BalianofReddit Mar 13, 2026 +27
Unfortunately this is fairly standard throughout history till after wars finish The modern excuse is it exposes too much operational intelligence to scrutiny
27
christhewelder75 Mar 13, 2026 +8
Im talking more about the fact theres likely a large number of intelligence agents who were killed when iran struck a number of hotels in their initial response to the US attack. We know the US evacuated many of their personnel from the bases, but they likely didnt remove them from the countries entirely. Hence the hotel strikes along with the bases.

Same reason conservatives scream and shout about human life when it comes to abortion, but are silent when Trump is murdering schoolchildren. They care when it's convenient
1306
Merijeek2 Mar 13, 2026 +624
You're forgetting the basic premise here. Conservatives (and don't give me the "oh, they're not truly conservatives", f*** you, they are, it's always been this way, there just used to be a flimsy mask pretending otherwise) don't care what was done. They care who did it. That's it. If the right person did a thing, it will be justified. If the wrong person did it, it will be declared a crime of the highest order.
624

30
PotatoSandwitchbbq Mar 13, 2026 +15
Lol yep. To quote rapper IDK, "the bible says beating my d*** and killing are equal, but that don't add up"
15
VoteYourOssoff Mar 13, 2026 +27
Yeah that's 100% true. The other aspect of it is that most Christian voters are single issue voters (abortion) and for some bizarre reason have decided that Jesus doesn't care about any human life outside this. So bombing a school just doesn't factor into the thinking of "pro-life" Christians. Even when you hear the phrase "pro-life" you know immediately they are only talking about abortion. It's nonsense of course and not backed up by anything theological.
27
Merijeek2 Mar 13, 2026 +12
It doesn't need to be. Their preachers are telling them how to vote. The Bible is a prop, not something they've ever read.
12
Responsible-Rip8793 Mar 13, 2026 +51
It’s the same reason they screamed and shouted when the Hillary email thing happened but were silent when Trump’s admin were caught using unsecured personal emails to conduct official govt business, using unsecured Signal chat to discuss war plans, and engaging in pay to play. Not to mention DOGE just got busted using Signal chat and stealing social security numbers and who knows what else they took. Not a mention of this from conservatives. Had Dems installed a DOGE and stolen anything belonging to American citizens, it would be all over Fox News and conservative media.
51
overthemountain Mar 13, 2026 +27
They don't care at all, they just want a moral justification for their actions. They'll abandon it as soon it's not convenient, though.
27
thisismynewacct Mar 13, 2026 +18
As Sandy Hook and Uvalde have shown they don’t even care if they’re American schoolchildren getting murdered.
18
0x831 Mar 13, 2026 +63
The conservatives that I know who were all upset about Benghazi and emails and shit are now just saying things like “FAFO” and just going full-bravado on Facebook. The thing is, these people don’t actually have a rational pattern of thought. It’s just primal strongman thinking. 500 more Americans could be killed and it wouldn’t even register to them. They’d just hop in their 9mpg lifted truck and drive around like an a****** with trump flags and literally not care. Fox News knows this
63
steeldraco Mar 13, 2026 +12
> Fox News knows this In large part, Fox News is *responsible* for this. The right-wing media ecosystem was designed to make conservative voters crazy so that they'd never have to resign after doing something like Watergate again. And now they do shit far worse than Watergate every day.

Stop using past tense. We have this dumb idea that it's a magic island and that's gone now. The pedophiles are still raping kids. They're still trafficking people. They just lost an island and one of the ring leaders. Trump is still trafficking people. Trump also runs ICE which is disappearing an unknown amount of people without due process and some level of assumption that they're non citizens. Trump started a war to avert eyes from his past and present criminal activities.
67

>I really think this is it. You really shouldn’t. Trump has been itching to start a conflict with Iran since his first term, he was just held back by competent staffers and even then they couldn’t stop him from bombing one of their generals they lured out with diplomatic talks. I think there are two questions people who say things are Epstein distractions need to ask themselves: Do you really think Trump’s actions are so uncharacteristic of him that they need to be motivated by the Epstein files? Did it really seem the Epstein files were that damaging to his administration? I personally think the answer to both is no, he’s always been like this and he won’t face any consequences for raping kids from the law or his supporters and he knows it.
9
mhornberger Mar 13, 2026 +15
Except there were no consequences incoming that were delayed or averted by this conflict. Everyone who cared, still cares. The Dems will never have the seats in the Senate to remove him. Republicans either don't care, or the ones who privately do will still largely (if not unanimously) keep their mouths shut. They will still vote in lockstep with their peers. Conservative voters who privately care will vote straight GOP in every election, and would, today, Epstein connections and all, still choose Trump over any Democrat. The electorate re-elected him with his Epstein ties already known.

99
Magrowl Mar 13, 2026 +62
In every conflict we treat their soldiers as faceless members of the regime we're fighting, we celebrate the deaths of Russians, Germans, Afghans, Iraqis, Iranians, Koreans, the Vietnamese, we take trophies from their corpses and save them as mementos and heirlooms, none of these men are ever considered complicated people who may have had reasons for going to war, that is a privilege for the US military so that America never feels culpable for what we do overseas.
62
SteveJobsDeadBody Mar 13, 2026 +32
Only 4? You should see how little the average American cares about the half million dead in Iraq from our previous war there. Someone should do a study to try and quantify it, my guess is Americans value about 1 American life per 10000 Iraqi or Iranian innocents. Just my guess based on decades of discussing them here and other places. To put it in a way that Americans would begin to understand, we're the Empire in Star Wars. The middle east is our Alderaan, we're just blowing it up more slowly.
32
BrightAnalysis1955 Mar 13, 2026 +18

35
IgnoreKassandra Mar 13, 2026 +69
Yeah this is kind of my take. It's not 2003 anymore, you can't say you were lied to. If you're in the military today it is, at the absolute most generous, because you decided college and a job was worth supporting the war machine. When was the last war we were in that was justified? WW2? These soldiers knew what they were getting into when they signed the papers. I have sympathy for their families, but not the soldiers themselves.
69
CassianCasius Mar 13, 2026 +28
Exactly. "They know what they signed up for" is true. They chose to join the military they knew and accepted the risks. They joined knowing they would accept killing people if deployed.
28
musical_entropy Mar 13, 2026 +18
The people replying to you about some sort of hypocrisy on your part by bringing up soldiers under authoritarian regimes seem to forget that 1. This war is being carried out without the approval of congress, so any order given for this conflict is an illegal order, and our soldiers' civic duty is to disobey. and 2. Unlike the USA, the soldiers in those other countries would likely be straight up executed if they disobeyed. 3. They're not even addressing your point that yeah... our guys *are* 100% dying because they're choosing to obey illegal orders at the behest of pedos

Bizarre that people seem to be okay with the part of American imperialism where they get to murder countless people and destabilize other countries, but shrink back in shock when the targets of their attacks have the audacity to fight back. Same thing happened in every war the US has been in since after WW2, it's an endemic cultural problem at this point.

We will be paying for this financially and morally for decades, despite loss of blood and treasure. We have successfully radicalized an oppressed people to side with their oppressors against the great Satan once again. Except this time we martyred their spiritual leader and murdered scores of civilians, including 150+ little girls during the holiest month of the year. Here's what's making the rounds on Iran State Media:[WATCH | Iran State Media Publishes Lego-Themed Animation of Strikes](https://share.google/7vltCLG3fky2R01cd)

Can you imagine being sent to your death or having a child or parent sent to die by a man who referred to service members as suckers and losers? Hope no one gets caught. We know how he feels about soldiers who get caught.

Can you imagine losing your kid to a school bombing because 350 million people on the other side of the globe cannot be arsed to care about anything but themselves?

You're making a good point. I heard there are some countries where there are school shootings too! They might be in need of some good ol' liberatin'

Crazy how 6 crew members on a crashed tanker get 24/7 coverage, but 1,300+ murdered civilians and a literal bombed elementary school in Iran is just 'Day 14' background noise.

HauntingHarmony Mar 13, 2026 +23
Thats something else. In this case its, american barely give a shit about their fellow countrymen. They certainly dont give a shit about children getting murdered by their own countries military. The americans think a persons life has a different value based on their nationality. So this isent a case of humans being overwhelmed by too much death and suffering, this is the case that they dont care about their death and suffering because they were iranian school girls. But look, americans participating in the atrocities, those lives have value.

I work on a military base and trust me, no one is f****** happy about it. People are turning down stripes and separating faster than I've ever seen.

Hello_World_Error Mar 13, 2026 +69
Yeah trump is the reason I got out. His stupid Twitter beef in 2019 had real world consequences people dont really know about. I was literally training 16 hours a day preparing to go to North Korea. Wasted so much tax money, all over some stupid tweets. Turned down E-6 and did not reenlist because of that
69
indimion22 Mar 13, 2026 +13
I never bothered testing for E6 and got out early 2020 because of this shit, I think life would've been easier if I'd stayed in but I can't support a single thing going on.
13
Hello_World_Error Mar 13, 2026 +8
I was army so a bit different. I turned down my s*** to the school i needed for E-6 because I decided I was getting out. I had the points to guarantee my promotion when i completed the school. I loved my job too but just couldn't stay in when I knew my life meant less than a tweet. Plus the promotion would have required an additional year time in service so I gave it all up

dBlock845 Mar 13, 2026 +12
Supposedly we were way closer nuclear war with North Korea back in Trump 1.0 than most people even realized.
12
purritowraptor Mar 13, 2026 +20
Err really? Cause it sure looks like you guys are complying with illegal orders. I'm sure you'll be real grumpy when you slaughter innocent civilians. It'll give their family solace knowing you "weren't f****** happy about it."
20
davossss Mar 13, 2026 +23
No one? Two thirds of the military voted for this. Same for at least the last 5 GOP presidential campaigns who all attempted to do this, from Bush 2004-present.
23
purritowraptor Mar 13, 2026 +6
Two thirds voted for this and the rest are silent. We'll look upon them like we look upon "ordinary" German soldiers in WW2...

Lot of misinformation or bad takes on the whole “why are there no parachutes on this plane” I am a former USAF SERE Specialist and taught emergency parachuting.  Plain and simple: your chances of survival by donning a parachute in this thing while it’s in chaos mode going down is the same as you and your crew gaining control of the aircraft and controlling the ditch/collision.  Stop the complaints over a logistical situation you don’t know anything about. There’s already enough bad shit happening.

lnx84 Mar 13, 2026 +57
Skydiver here - many accidents have happened in small skydiving planes full of people eager to jump - and they went down with everyone, because it is impossible to move around inside a spinning aircraft, to even get to the sometimes already open door.

40
EternalAngst23 Mar 13, 2026 +9
Sadly, an expected outcome. Tankers aren’t fighter jets. They don’t have ejection seats or parachutes. If the plane goes down, there’s no bailing out.

To distract from the fact that Donald J Trump was good friends with the most notorious pedophile in American history, and Trump has been credibly accused of raping kids by victims of said pedophile

Remember when the GOP skewered Hillary for Benghazi? She wasn’t qualified and should be in jail for those four deaths, they said. Trump should already be in jail 100 times over, but this is yet another offense.

paul-in-nyc2 Mar 13, 2026 +92
Remember folks, all of this is a distraction to get the headlines away from the Epstein files. There is no other reason for this conflict happening now.

SAGORN Mar 13, 2026 +28
there is another reason: the collapse of Israeli support demographically in America has been monumental. The administration realized they are on a timer to commit to this war and rout Iran in the region before the inevitable condemnation of the Israeli state and the severing of financial and military support that is looming closer and closer to the midterms.

manical1 Mar 13, 2026 +11
I've learned that, with enough power and money, you don't need to provide any evidence or reason beyond television sound bites. Apparently, there was enough intelligence to warrant this attack as Iran was gearing up to attack the US and Israel. Outside of hearing it from Trump, not sure what other evidence we have. I presume that is enough to put lives in danger, murder school children and the death of 11 soldiers...
11
DXPower Mar 13, 2026 +14
The Pentagon already stated there was no reason to believe that Iran would attack the USA: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/pentagon-tells-congress-no-sign-that-iran-was-going-attack-us-first-sources-say-2026-03-02/

Imagine how different our world could be if it was peaceful and all the fallen were still with us. Fighting and dying in rich man's wars who see y'all as cattle, I'll never understand enlistment after reading psyops & FOIA logs...

Just a paedophile murdering US citizens to cover up his crimes of raping children and as an excuse to cancel sanctions against the mafia state Russia who helped him get elected in the first place. He’s legit the most evil person alive I don’t care what anyone else says.

P2Pdancer Mar 13, 2026 +17
This is all on the Republicans. They have the majority and could have thrown Trump out of office (and still can…but won’t). And, SCOTUS is just as responsible. All of them are pathetic sycophants.

Punman_5 Mar 13, 2026 +13

Never forget: if we grant that the purpose here is to “denuclearize Iran”, then this current war is squarely Trump’s fault. Trump walked out of the Iran Nuclear Deal in 2018.
24
troveofcatastrophe Mar 13, 2026 +15
And he said we “obliterated” their capabilities months ago. So sure was he, that he threatened to sue CNN for saying we just set it back. We are there because Bibi has been wanting to go in for decades. He needed to go in now to keep himself out of prison. Trump understands his dilemma and throw in certain incentives and I’m sure it was easy to talk him into it.

What's rubbing me the wrong way is every flight incident in the middle east since the Iran war started has been reported as an accident. The 3 downed jets in Kuwait was a accidental mistake because Kuwait didn't know the US was flying in their airspace. I'm like yea ok. The 6 troops that died in Iraq supposedly died from a plane crash. If you leave it up to the US the enemies have 0 confirmed kills and if you leave it up to Iran/the middle east they have plenty of kills. I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle. The Ali Al Saleem Air force base is a pretty big known base in Kuwait, but the Kuwaiti military intelligence had no idea americans were flying there?
