Most Americans don’t know because the US media does a shitty job covering the Iran nuclear issue and they often just repeat the claims of Trump and other politicians. For example, how often does the US media report that Iran offered to down blend its nuclear stockpiles and to suspend all further enrichment for 3 to 5 years in its recent negotiations with the US? The US and Israel started bombing the shit out of Iran days later.

> Iran offered to down blend its nuclear stockpiles and to suspend all further enrichment for 3 to 5 years in its recent negotiations with the US? Problem is that they broke their earlier pledge and enriched their uranium to 60% instead of the 3.67% they agreed. If they are not interested in building nuclear bombs, why enrich at 60%?

It is the US that pulled out of previous agreements 1st.

Because you have to see it in the context of the JCPOA. There's a clause there that gives the iranians the right to enrich ever higher should the other signatories break the JCPOA and not return to it. They kept their end for a whole year and then slowly started enriching higher in communicated steps. It only got so high because neither Biden nor Trump returned to that framework. In both cases Netanyahu was the driving force. Additionaly, Russian and French firms which were supposed to exchange higher enriched material for lower ones under the JCPOA could not because of sanctions that the US pushed against them. That's something that gets conveniently underreported.

> Because you have to see it in the context of the JCPOA Or you can see it in the context of Iran swearing not wanting to build the bomb, claiming to have a fatwa against building a bomb...and then enriching at 60%...there is no other reason to enrich that much than wanting to build bombs...

Which is simply ignoring the whole f****** history of how we got here.

> Which is simply ignoring the whole f****** history of how we got here. Way to say nothing of matter...I asked you why enrich at 60% if not wanting to build bombs...

And I told you how that happened. You refusing to acknowledge that is not an argument. 1.) JCPOA mechanism 2.) already highly enriched uranium could not be exchanged because of sanctions.

Which countries are allowed to have nukes?

> Which countries are allowed to have nukes? Certainly not a country screaming regularly "Death to America"...

What's the history of that phrase? How's our rhetoric been? What happened to freedom of speech?

When did they produce that 60% erinched uranium, before or after the US exited from the JCPOA? I'm like 100% sure it was produced after Trump pulled the US out of the deal. You know when [Rouhani](https://edition.cnn.com/2019/07/07/middleeast/iran-nuclear-agreement-intl/index.html) told the remaining 5 members that he was going to do it and the US couldn't object because Trump pulled out of the f****** deal. Seriously stop watching Fox News, they are partisan hacks and intentionally leave out important details.

> When did they produce that 60% erinched uranium I asked WHY enrich at 60% and the only response I am getting from you people is about 'when'...I know when...I am still asking why when the only thing you can do with highly enriched uranium is to make nuclear bombs that Iran claimed was against their religion to make...

11 years later, that "delusion" just entered its *Empire Strikes Back* phase.

The US and Israel have achieved nothing in Iran. What they have created is an enormous existential danger for Israel.

Yep, I was thinking it was 5 words too long.

Anyone with even the most cursory knowledge of Iran would know this. In fact I'd bet my favorite Pokemon card that their likely response to war was in every foreign policy briefing Trump gets.

If out of nowhere somehow people like me take over power in iran, we will absolutely end the entire Iran Nuclear program for ever.
