Ok, so start taxing all the billionaires that are profiting from the insider trades.

Best we can do is an illegal 15% added global tariff.

and a lil' war maybe too 🙂

The average Republican, making less than $100k a year, reading your statement: “The socialists just want to sit around and be lazy while we work and pay for everything!”

Alpacapalooza Mar 26, 2026 +20
> The average Republican, making less than $100k a year, reading your statement: > They're just temporarily embarrassed billionaires, they'll get in on it once they get on their feet. Any day now.
20
Malaix Mar 26, 2026 +12
Honestly I think its often sadder than that. They know they wont be billionaires. They just have a puritanical suffering f*****.
12
PorcelainPrimate Mar 26, 2026 +11
In my experience, those making $35k a year (or less) are the most like your example.

Joe Biden had 4 years to get rid of DeJoy and didn't do jack squat. He is complicit.

how did DeJoy get into power? trump fired the BOD and replaced them with yes men who appointed Dejoy. Biden could've done the same, but chose not to.

Everything will be increasing in costs by April
166
Gay_Giraffe_1773 Mar 25, 2026 +129
And not a little. Added fuel costs cascades everything via disrtibution networks. It will all snowball. What a cluster.

It’s all a part of the plan, and don’t expect those prices to ever get back to normal
64
goodlife_arc Mar 26, 2026 +16
Buddy, there is no plan. How can we ever get out of Iran… these people didn’t think things through. Imagine we pay reparations before we get healthcare….

It's a good thing tariffs brought prices down. /s

Pseudoboss11 Mar 26, 2026 +8
My work receives metal, we machine it, ship it out to get a finish applied, get it shipped back, finish machine and assemble it, then deliver it to our customer, which is an online retailer that sends out the finished product. Most every step includes some level of transportation, if that all gets more expensive, the final delivery is just a small step in a pretty huge supply chain. All those costs really add up. And of course our finishing company has their own reagents (sand blast media, anodize equipment) that also has more delivery steps. The media manufacturer is going to raise prices, which means that the anodizer will raise prices, so now we're eating even more costs.
8
maglax Mar 25, 2026 +8
April is next week. Somehow.
8
mustachewax Mar 26, 2026 +1
And the issue with this (post office) is it doesn’t expire until January 2027.
1
ranhalt Mar 25, 2026 +74
They want the post office to close and be replaced with private business.
74
Professional_Bat9174 Mar 25, 2026 +48
Can't wait for the news stories of people in rural areas. "I can't get anything shipped or mailed to me for less than $50.
48
Politicsboringagain Mar 26, 2026 +25
And then they will blame Democrats, even though republicans have been in charge of the local government for decades.
25

devil's advocate: biden had 4 years to get rid of DeJoy and didn't make any effort at all.

pm_me_beerz Mar 26, 2026 +3
This didn’t start with Biden
3

and it didn't end with biden either. bernie woulda nixed that pos immediately, given the opportunity. biden is a corporate tool. full stop.
0
AssassinInValhalla Mar 25, 2026 +23
Yeah this is working as intended. They want to make everything more expensive, but control it so only the "~~white~~right people get the money
23
Politicsboringagain Mar 26, 2026 +8
Remember when Trump stopped the hiring of new air traffic controllers last year.
8
Malaix Mar 26, 2026 +3
the conservative paradox. They hate government services but also hate big corporations. "Y no mom and pop with 10 employees run everything?!"
3

Remember when Trump canceled the electric usps fleet order?
37
DoublePostedBroski Mar 25, 2026 +23
Project 2025. GOP has been foaming at the mouth to privatize everything. This is just another opportunity for them to go “See how expensive they are! The free market would allow competition and lower costs!”
23
GlutenFreeGanja Mar 26, 2026 +7
MAGA won't care about SHIT until it effects them personally They are too incompetent and incapable of forward thinking to understand how this Will impact them down the line on so many levels.
7
flammable-liquid Mar 25, 2026 +311
Hopefully people understand the importance of USPS. And what would happen to shipping prices if they were to collapse.
311
horseydeucey Mar 25, 2026 +90
Best I can do is make them a proxy arm of Amazon, Inc. Neither sleet nor snow nor self-inflicted skyrocketing oil prices...
90
lkodl Mar 25, 2026 +19
**Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds** to be fair, this is speaking to the commitment of completing a delivery that they've accepted. they just simply won't accept your package if you don't pay.
19
doneandtired2014 Mar 26, 2026 +18
The people who need to understand the importance of the USPS are the same disphit collective that voted for the people directly responsible for this in the first place.
18
ItsDokk Mar 26, 2026 -2
Both of my MAGA parents worked at and retired from the USPS. The USPS is full of hypocrites that HATE unions or any kind of democratic action that protects blue collar workers. The average USPS worker has the self-awareness of a worm.
-2
Sargash Mar 26, 2026 +12
Both of my roomates work for the USPS. They are absolutely for unions and bluecollars. Their co-workers, however, want to use all of the advantages but want 'none of the nimby shit'
12
ItsDokk Mar 26, 2026 +1
Yeah, there are some that get it, but it seems like an overwhelming majority are the “rules for thee, not for me” crowd.
1
doneandtired2014 Mar 26, 2026 +5
>The USPS is full of hypocrites that HATE unions or any kind of democratic action that protects blue collar workers Same goes for any union, unfortunately. Occasionally, I regret things now aren't as they were back 60-70 years ago in terms of union labor: free riders typically had their tires slashed back then.
5
o_MrBombastic_o Mar 25, 2026 +27
If they understood they wouldn't keep electing Republicans
27
DoubleJumps Mar 25, 2026 +28
USPS is essentially the spine of the economy, and people don't even realize it.
28
EmergencyCucumber905 Mar 26, 2026 +12
And Republicans are trying to kill it
12
Unifiedshoe Mar 26, 2026 +10
Thousands of small business would fold without USPS. Amazon would be the only storefront you could sell products on to avoid paying crazy shipping prices.
10
Sargash Mar 26, 2026 +7
Ya, without USPS setting the base line price of delivery at cost, prices for packages and shipping would be astronomically higher.
7
postercars Mar 26, 2026 -3
what do u mean? this is a tax lololl
-3
CoffeeHead112 Mar 25, 2026 +130
Pointing out that this is Republican voting fuckery. Last November they quietly made postmark dates no longer from when mail arrives at your post office, but when it arrives at the destination. Last month they decided USPS will no longer be liable for 'intentionally lost mail'. With this added on, it's plain to see that they are trying to eliminate the impact of mail in voters who are most likely going to vote against them.
130
Tao_of_Ludd Mar 26, 2026 +5
I am not so sure about that “most likely to vote against them” That was true in 2020, but not so clear before or after. There are a lot of elderly republicans who vote by mail because it is difficult to get to the polls. I look at both this and the SAVE act and wonder if they aren’t screwing themselves.
5
ohnohelpwhereamI Mar 25, 2026 +44
What happens if they don't get it? The Republicans hate the usps for some strange f****** reason.
44
AnonymousNeighborino Mar 25, 2026 +53
This is easy to explain. They want to shut it down and replace it with privately owned, billionaire-exploited private services benefiting a select few of them and their friends.
53
Alert-Ad9197 Mar 26, 2026 +11
Same reason they hate the VA, government funded health insurance, and publicly owned utilities. A private corporation could be getting richer while providing worse services!
11
Yoshemo Mar 26, 2026 +5
They hate things that benefit you because they hate you. Yes you.
5
Affectionate-Print81 Mar 26, 2026 +18
Don't worry some Maga people will just edit the gas prices with Photoshop and say gas is c**** where they are. Problem solved.
18
PlaysADC Mar 26, 2026 +7
Dont give them that much credit, they cant use photoshop, these people are plugging that picture of their gas station into an ai and making it do it for them.

Well, there’s also a lot more non-electric transportation that happens to get a package to your door that isn’t just the final leg. Planes, trains, trucks, etc.
10
Blazah Mar 26, 2026 +5
I guess we just wont send things anywhere. Thanks Maga morons.

Mike-SBA Mar 26, 2026 +5
This isn’t covered by the $200 Billion that Republicans in the House and Senate ? And don’t forget that Ted Cruz wants another round of tax cuts for the wealthy to be part if this legislation !

Their doing this because they want to make postal service all privatized
6
Square-Weight4148 Mar 26, 2026 +4
This should be payed by Donald J Trump as he is the source of the rising cost of doing business.
4

Get the money from the fuckers that voted for Trump.
3
spicychickentendr Mar 26, 2026 +6
The government is clearly trying to destabilize public services in a bid for full privatization of all said services. It's all by design.
6
Pour_Me_Another_ Mar 25, 2026 +6
Maybe the people warring can foot the bill since it's their hobby, not ours.
6
nvrmndtheruins Mar 25, 2026 +12
They already cost more than UPS and FedEx since Trump fucked with them during his first term.
12
the_Q_spice Mar 25, 2026 +5
And they also screw both UPS and FedEx (and other airlines) over now. Priority Mail, or Air Mail and Priority Mail Freight all fly on UPS, FedEx, or other airlines. The plane I work on usually offloads 800-2,000lbs of mail every day. Most of it is “Ground” Advantage. All the surcharges they keep adding are pure GOP greed, the FedEx and UPS contracts are pre-negotiated fixed-cost contracts. We don’t get paid any more (as companies) if USPS raises the price that *all* goes straight to the government as profit.
5
challam Mar 25, 2026 +5
Maybe they should get that from Trump

Your taxes don't go to the USPS at all, and haven't in a very long time. The USPS is funded by postage.
10
EX0PIL0T Mar 26, 2026 -8
Buddy they got 8 billion in taxpayer dollars over Covid. I paid taxes during that time, and I’d bet you or your parents did too.
-8
FnClassy Mar 26, 2026 +11
That money was not released by the Biden administration actually buddy. I'm a 21 year carrier, former 10 year union rep, 7 year on the job instructor. We were supposed to get 10 billion. Also, we were supposed to get money back for the prefunding of the health care that Bush Jr. put in place, and was supposed to go toward our new fleet of vehicles. None of this has happened.
11
EX0PIL0T Mar 26, 2026 -9
I never said who released it. If you’re going to be condescending at least talk about something I said. Never once did I say anything about the post office or it’s employees so I’m not sure why I’ve got your resume and you’ve got a chip on your shoulder.
-9
FnClassy Mar 26, 2026 +8
You called me buddy, I called you buddy back. Guess you're not my buddy after all...real shame.
8
EX0PIL0T Mar 26, 2026 -8
Not even acknowledging anything of substance and trying to play coy on top of it? Interesting choice to say the least.
-8
FnClassy Mar 26, 2026 +8
Responded to your ignorance already once, not my fault the comprehension level isn't there.
8
EX0PIL0T Mar 26, 2026 -5
You respond to every comment, like a dog when his master calls. Did you pick that up from the ankle biters on your paper routes?
-5
FnClassy Mar 26, 2026 +7
I don't have a paper route, buddy. Also, this makes zero sense. In this analogy you would be my master, and I, at this point in time, struggle to believe that you have even mastered your zipper, let alone the capabilities to formulate rational thought. The cliché that you were attempting is sadder than the blind ignorance of Postal related finances.
7
DimSumFan Mar 25, 2026 +2
Trump will cover that for us
2
porgy_tirebiter Mar 26, 2026 +2

Looks like Obiden struck again!
2
Jealous_Disk3552 Mar 26, 2026 +2
Sure, as long as we get equal reductions in stamp prices every time gas goes down
2
Bizarrebazaars Mar 26, 2026 +2
“The U.S. Postal Service wants to impose a temporary 8% fuel surcharge for package and express deliveries to deal with rising transportation costs, which include higher oil prices as a result of the Iran war. If approved by the Postal Regulatory Commission, the surcharge would take effect April 26 and remain in place until Jan. 17, 2027. The 8% surcharge would apply to postage on Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select products. First-class stamps and other mail services would not be affected.”
2
furrysalesman69 Mar 26, 2026 +2
Which wouldn’t be asked for if Trump and the republicans didn’t f*** over the postal service BY CANCELING THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE LINE OF POSTAL VEHICLES!
2
Billkamehameha Mar 26, 2026 +2
This whole affair was to get the American public against the Postal Service.
2
CatsOffToDance Mar 26, 2026 +3
Why don’t they put the onus on the GOV’T? Citizens shouldn’t have to foot the bill—this is like tariffs all over again
3
betweentwoblueclouds Mar 26, 2026 +2
Trump is ruining America, like he ruined all of his businesses. Guess the writing on the wall was there but the US chose to look the other way.
2
eSnowLeopard Mar 26, 2026 +2
I sell things online and USPS has already increased their prices like 50% over the last 6-18 months before this intended jump. This sucks
2
RainyDayColor Mar 26, 2026 +1
I totally understand that it may seem like a whopping 50% hit, but in reality USPS rate increases since 2024, including this most recent 8% *temporary* increase (April 26, 2026, through January 17, 2027), cumulatively total less than 20% overall. Let me make clear I'm not dismissing the potentially significant consequences of the increase. I also professionally rely heavily on USPS shipping, and every rate increase requires the periodic scramble to recalculate viable bottom lines. Especially recently I’ve been constantly making internal operational adjustments to successfully avoid raising my prices or passing higher shipping rates (and all the countless other incrementally inflating things) onto my customers. Unfortunately at this point I’m tapped out on any remaining wiggle room, and with these newly increased shipping rates (that significantly impact both my costs to acquire inventory and my costs to fulfill and ship it) I’m now forced to increase my prices across the board for products and shipping if I’m to stay in business. And that’s a big “if” as any inflationary price increases unavoidably compromise market competitiveness and ultimate share for which small businesses have increasingly struggled. While a temporary economic stall is likely recoverable and survivable, for many small independent businesses an accelerating long-term tailspin is not.
1
cyberentomology Mar 26, 2026 +2

2

I’d like an extra 8% for the chicky nuggies. Thems more now cuz of reasons
2
EightGlow Mar 26, 2026 +3
In a functioning society the corporate tax rate and taxes on the highest earners would be jacked up to previous reasonable levels and used to fund our social services and pay down debt. Instead we cut taxes, increase spending, start a war, and then blame someone else.
3
Oiggamed Mar 26, 2026 +2
So, let me get this straight. They want to tax us on a service that’s funded from our taxes. Did I get that right?
2
Qcgreywolf Mar 26, 2026 +2
lol, what a piece of shit institution. The USPS has been utterly ruined. A once necessary, proud and important foundation to our country. Now a shit business that specializes in selling our personal information for profit, and delivering millions of tons of utterly worthless papers that *instantly* go from our hands to the garbage, unread and unopened.
2
MrMichaelJames Mar 26, 2026 +2
