According to the article he was facing a mandatory life sentence without the plea deal.

Pretty sure the lead time for a murder case in my county starts at 3 years right now. That’s before any potential delays.

Meanwhile we live in a country where every policeman is given a quota to meet like there isn't enough clogging up the court systems as it is. It'd be like magic; removing every low level ticket and arrest, seeing how quickly the system would begin to function. It's almost like if we accepted that life comes with a certain degree of nonsense going on, we may actually have time to deal with and sentence the real monsters in our society.

This is the first I've ever heard of him, so I definitely think of him more as a r*** artist first and rap artist second.

He was well known back in the early 2000s, you may have heard his song “shake ya ass” at some point and not realized it was him.

There are degrees of r***? What?!?!?

jogoso2014 Mar 18, 2026 +7
There’s differences in severity for most crimes in the states. Was the r*** coerced, statutory, involving drugs/alcohol? Did the rapist break their arm and stab them first or later? That would all matter in sentencing and would not change the definition of a rapist.

It's a pretty fringe topic to speak so definitively.

jogoso2014 Mar 18, 2026
Charges are always nuanced because everyone wants wiggle room to settle.

Physical_Ease6658 Mar 18, 2026 +1
Lol, I think you mean a plea agreement. Settlements are for civil matters.  The only wiggle room for criminal matters is how bloodthirsty the prosecutor feels that morning. Prosecutorial discretion is a very contentious topic in the legal community.

I wasn’t really speaking in legal terms, but yes, it’s best to use legal terms.

What a mess, he never learned anything from his past arrests. I think the only songs I had on my playlists are the Stutter remix ft Joe and Danger (Been so long) ft Nivea but I have retired those years ago after hearing about this arrest. He’s not that relevant in music anymore but let me ceremoniously mute him anyway. I hope the victim, all of his victims he made over the years, get justice. What a trash human being.

It’s ok to separate the art from the artist, especially if you’re not paying for it.
