Just like he made the Mexicans pay for his wall?

MadAstrid Mar 31, 2026 +61
If you mean he will say that is what will happen, all sane people chortle, it does not happen, but MAGA weirdos believe it did happen, then yes.
61
fredagsfisk Mar 31, 2026 +20
Small correction; he will say *at the same time* that it did happen, that it didn't happen because [insert country] is evil and "taking advantage" of the US, that it didn't happen because the Democrats blocked it because they "hate America", and at least one more insane and ridiculous claim. His base will then either pick the one they prefer and pretend the other excuses/lies never happened, or flip back and forth between them depending on context while thinking that's a brilliant genius thing to do.

spa22lurk Mar 31, 2026 +7
Trump is a con man. The marks have always been his base mostly.

Yes, just like that

Well Qatar can just start increasing the helium price for America

John_Mark_Corpuz_2 Mar 31, 2026 +221
It'd be more appropriate if it's the Arab countries that would request Trump to pay them for the ruckus he caused without any coherent plan.

urgencynow Mar 31, 2026 +30
They will, oil will just increase to cover Trump's war
30
Fast-Satisfaction482 Mar 31, 2026 +8
But apart from the Saudi with their east-west pipeline, no one is getting their oil out of the gulf.
8
AgUnityDD Mar 31, 2026 +45
At least one (Saudi) , and very likely a few others encouraged him to attack and the others have been bribing and supporting him personally to the tune of billions of dollars. And they've all met him personally so they know perfectly well how stupid, impulsive and easily manipulated he is. They made their own bed.
45
DragonfruitIsOP Mar 31, 2026 +15
I’m sure they love having their cities bombed drones and ballistic missiles /s Americans really need to stop spreading this fake propaganda. This is no proper reason except for Saudi Arabia for them to want this war. Their economies have taken a massive hit and they will continue to feel it’s effects for years. So typical of Americans to shit the bed and blame others
15
Skinnybet Mar 31, 2026 +16
As Winston Churchill said. You can always trust the Americans to do the right thing, after they have tried everything else first.
16
AgUnityDD Mar 31, 2026 +8
Nobody is blaming others - for the war - it is 100% on US and Israel. All the gulf nations have all been stupidly supporting and openly bribing Trump and his family. They helped prop him and his administration up within the US, they all signed up for his ridiculous board of peace so they helped bring this on themselves.
8
jpric155 Mar 31, 2026 -4
Why is Iran attacking other countries in the middle east then?
-4
DragonfruitIsOP Mar 31, 2026 +4
To force Americas hand? Hitting them caused major financial damage. Hitting their oil plants can cause global recession. Have you been living under a rock?
4
DeepResearch7071 Mar 31, 2026 +8
I see, the US propaganda machine is in full swing again! Justifying yet another illegal war and how everyone but the poor Americans and Israelis are to blame for this. No, it is a well documented fact that the Arab countries were not in favour of the war, and had counseled him to engage in diplomacy, not conflict. Their ties with Iran had anyways been on an upswing for a few years, and they were actively leading mediation and negotiation efforts. Like, this is not even remotely contestable. The only thing happening here is the US got itself into yet another quagmire, the price for which the entire world will have to pay. We'll all have to lie on the bed the US 'made'.
8
jpric155 Mar 31, 2026 +5
Why is Iran attacking other arab countries if they are not involved?
5
FerretAres Mar 31, 2026 +2
Because the way Iran wins is by making it too painful for the US to continue and by attacking American regional allies they add indirect pain to the US?
2
Hardly_lolling Mar 31, 2026 +6
Whatever the Arab countries thought about this war doesn't take away the blame from the citrus pedo. In fact if the Arab countries did support the war it would mean US tax money and soldiers are sacrificed for the good of foreign powers besides Israel. Either way Trump and USA is to blame.
6
AgUnityDD Mar 31, 2026 +16
Nobody is saying US and Israel are not entirely to blame for the war. If you need to inject unfounded extrapolations in order to make up a point then YOU are creating propaganda. It is not propaganda, but irrefutable fact that all the Arab states have been supporting and bribing Trump personally right until it came back to bite them and that the Saudis (maybe others) clearly supported it at the outset and have not revoked that position.

LovesFrenchLove_More Mar 31, 2026 +4
Doubtful He just insulted MBS and the latter really has no good way to respond to that. https://houseofsaud.com/trump-humiliates-mbs-fii-miami-us-saudi-alliance/
4
Emotional_Goal9525 Mar 31, 2026 +3
Maybe they will ask their money back?
3
One_Handed_Typing Mar 31, 2026 +2
People are saying the US should pay reparations to the rest of the world for the spike in costs due to oil prices resulting from this dumb war that they voted for. The US has been treating the world very poorly. They're very nasty. It's time for them to pay. Every American should be charged somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000 to cover this. Maybe more. Some people are saying maybe each person should pay $50,000.

I'm sure UAE and Saudi will also be (quietly for now) very interested in potential future investment switches  with China's military not to be dependent on the clusterclown backstab disaster that is the Trump regime.

Everyone is at the moment not just those twom
1
arvigeus Mar 31, 2026 +8
This would be the equivalent of taking a dump in front of Mar-a-Lago, then ringing the bell to ask for a toilet paper. I’m sure that, in typical Trump fashion, he’ll claim they all agreed - and even offered to cover U.S. bombing costs in Iran - only for the Arab countries to deny any talks ever took place a few hours later.
8
ANTILAMER13 Mar 31, 2026 +13
Time to take the keys back from Trump. No more joyriding
13
turquoise_amethyst Mar 31, 2026 +4
If they were willing to pay for it, wouldn’t they have done that before the US attacked Iran?
4
solapelsin Mar 31, 2026 +2
This is what I was thinking too. They weren’t interested in paying for a war in Iran, otherwise they could have gone for it themselves way earlier. Unsure why they’d suddenly pay for someone else’s war in the region. I’m sure Trump is very interested in getting someone else to pay for it though, not questioning that part at all.
2
turquoise_amethyst Mar 31, 2026 +1

It seems surreal for Americans still but it's about to get real when a whole bunch of American soldiers get lit up any day.
4
Jackadullboy99 Mar 31, 2026 +5
Trump’s always interested in placing the cost burden on other people… he’s done it all his life.

What a bargain for them!

Arab countries like Israel?
3
dbmsmanagear Mar 31, 2026 +10
Best thing trump can do is walk away from this war. It's lost. Put export restrictions on American crude oil to spike up the worlds oil prices so that China and Europe put pressure on iran to open up the strait.
10
W31337 Mar 31, 2026 +8
Best thing he can do is apologize, start productive diplomatic talks, negotiate nuclear limitations and offer reparations. Help Iran with oil production and open the straits. It's going to take a lot of groveling and talk but it's possible.
8
dbmsmanagear Mar 31, 2026 +3
He is never gonna apologize and offer reparation. What he should do is nothing for now. Don't leave, don't attack. Israel specifically took our the Iranian leadership so that peace talks become impossible and US is forced to escalate. He should not escalate. Just declare that he is not interested in war anymore as long as iran doesn't attack US bases. Just fund proxy groups to invade iran.
3
W31337 Mar 31, 2026 +2
Of course Trump won't because he's incapable of doing the diplomatic thing
2
ProfetF9 Mar 31, 2026 +2
walk away? his israelian handlers don;t allow that, usa will lose billions and a lot of lifes in what is coming and i still ask myself: WHY?
2
thepostmanpat Mar 31, 2026 +5
If anything, Israel should pay for it. It's their war after all.
5
Alimarshaw Mar 31, 2026 +2
Thought about it, but nah, much rather try to bully the European nations into paying for it.
2
chemicallyaware Mar 31, 2026 +2
Israel can pay for it, yes.

If they don’t pay Mexico will have to pay for it 🤷‍♂️
2
SquareAdvent Mar 31, 2026 +2
Just nice. If the war extends to June they would have to use currency signed by Trump to fund the war. I can't imagine how pissed I would be in this situation.
2

I think Dubai, and other gulf states, would want some money for the repairs. I hope they all stop doing business with the US over this...

Hey, I have an idea! Optics are bad, need to give the people something else to consider! Let's go make a big mess in someone else's backyard. What's that? It blew up on our face? Hmm, okay... We didn't really have any stakes there to begin with (yeah, right, lol...) how about we pull out? And if they want us to stay and clean it up, we'll charge them for it! Brilliant! This guy... This guy is the f****** _master_. Whenever you think "this is it; this is rock bottom; it can't get any worse, any more cringe or immoral", here comes Donald Fuckwit Trump to save the day with a new low! It's impressive, really.
3
DisasterNo1740 Mar 31, 2026 +2
The money expenditure is quite frankly the lowest hanging fruit he could get out of them, but for Trump it's always about some stupid shit. The gulf states paying money for the continuation of this war is not going to make Iran open the strait, during or after the war and nor is it going to get the regime out. Every single thing Trump is considering and doing has the exact same result: strait remains under Iranian control, the regime remains in control and Iran remains steadfast on acquiring nukes.

1
Zefyris Mar 31, 2026 +1
All that this admin cares about is money. Not towards the country but towards their pockets too, so I'd be worried that any money paid by said Arab countries would not fully end up in the country's bank accounts. But Americans soldiers being wounded or killed? Heh, who cares, what matters is the money. This is what happens when you elect someone that has shown multiple time that he has 0 respect for dead soldiers, Americans or otherwise. You cannot expect that kind of person to have a problem with Americans soldiers dying since he sees them as tools to use and losers that no one should care about.

Maybe, just maybe, ask them to participate in this war instead of NATO countries. Americans are fighting another country's war for money, that's just straight up mercenary. Wake up guys you are just being played, spent and sometimes killed for no reason.

2

I have never been in the military but it seems to me that most people join it to serve and defend their country. Doesn't it diminish the value of their service by making them mercenaries? It's just a job then. Your fighting for money - not your country.

US has successfully played the Arabs and fooled them . US has sufficient oil now and doesn't rely on the gulf anymore . US is protecting israel more than the arab states who US has promised to protect in return of those bases . US is deliberately allowing the Arabs to be pounded by Iran increasing the threat and risk to their kingdoms and their family rule. The petro dollar deal was expired in 2024 and has not renewed by Saudi Arabia which allowed the use of other currencies other than dollar something which has not gone down well with US . The dollar recycling is gone down significantly. What is happening in middle east right now is not just US vs Iran it's more than that is a complete "Reset" . The oil for protection arrangment is finished US is creating new terms and conditions for the gulf.
