I’ve put off getting a new car because it felt like a bad idea to spend a bunch of cash in an uncertain economy. I’m glad I am not saddled with a loan or put out cash for used. I’ve been driving a beater which I can fix myself. It owes me nothing.

Despite the tariffs they're still not actually that bad. I got a set of 4 bifacial 200W panels for about $170 a piece. If you don't go bifacial you can get them for as low as about $140. Get a set of 10 of those and you've got 2kw of solar potential, all for about $1400, which is plenty to run a car charger, a fridge, and a few lights. What gets expensive is the batteries you'll want to store all that power (assuming you work during the day, when you aren't around said solar panels).

What people fail to grasp is the reason Trump has been so powerful is his cult of personality. No one they have tried to get to replace has that. I live in a red area, but I think a lot of people are highly concerned and also don’t know what to do because calling senators, representatives, etc, seems to do nothing to change what the administration has been doing. As a kid, I remember hiding under my covers if I heard a creak or something scary. I would tell myself if I just close my eyes and wait a few minutes it will be over. I feel like all of us are hiding under the covers but our eyes are unfortunately forced open and it’s not getting better.
