U.S. to Allow Russian Oil Tanker to Reach Cuba, Breaking Blockade

Agent Krasnov got the boss call from Putin over the weekend and so he’s doing what he was ordered to do.

Seems like the point of Trump being President is to help Russia in all things and push the rest of the world towards China. If you wrote a political thriller 20 years ago and basically made the theory that there was a president elected that was groomed by Russia.. and you just wrote exactly what Trump has done the entire time... people would think it was too obvious and ridiculous of a premise that people would actually vote for him a second time.

It’s not a full blockade. A true blockade would mean no ships in or out of Cuba, which isn’t the case. The U.S. *pressures* other countries like Mexico and Venezuela to not sell or send oil to Cuba (which they currently can’t afford to buy, so it would need to be subsidized or donated). Russia has a higher tolerance to this political pressure, so they send oil anyways.

The question with absolutely every move Trump makes should be, how does this help Putin?

It's as stupid as our current reality, Trump is owned and controlled by foreign governments. Everything he does is for this and the enrichment of his family. None of which makes us great again.

Russia donated this oil shipment on humanitarian grounds, so they’re not actually making a profit from it. Cuba itself can’t actually afford to buy it either b/c their economy is in free-fall. The U.S. puts political + financial pressure on other countries (Mexico, Venezuela, etc) to not send oil shipments, Russia does it anyways b/c they have a higher tolerance to this pressure.

Also this is stupid. If you destabilize Cuba it's going to cause a refugee crisis that will literally wash up on our shores

Realistically this is because the US is effectively unable to prevent Russia from doing this.  US asks Russia to not do this. Russia says no. The US has no ability to retaliate - Trump has lost control of the world, even on the USs doorstep. 

America never properly punished the Confederacy and allowed racism to fester and grow while feeding the corporate machine without limits... the schadenfreude of hurting marginalized groups is what keeps them going.

We’re captive domestically tbh. Media is behind Trump, and 1/3 of the very diverse populace here. Trump went too far with Iran. This is his undoing, albeit unfortunately a lot of collateral damage comes with it.

There's an idiom in systems analysis that I keep coming back to lately. It's deceptively simple sounding, but it's one of those things that is useful to chew on a bit: The purpose of a system is what it does. You can go back and forth and argue about the _intended_ purpose of Trump's blockade of Cuba. Tons of political theory to spin there. But empirically, what it does, that we can see, is give Russia monopoly access to the Cuban energy market, with no competition from Venezuela or Mexico or anybody else. Now, maybe you think there was some other intention originally. But you can observe what the blockade _does._ And you can be sure if what it does what considered a big problem by the people who put it in place, they would take steps to make it do something else.

Its obviously a good thing Cuba finally got some Oil. But people are laughing at how the US has been preventing Mexico and Venezuela from giving Cuba oil, even telling the media they wouldn't let the Russian tankers help Cuba either. Yet he did exactly that, he let the tankers in despite all his yapping, which just further add proof that Trump is just a Putin vassal. Im very happy Cuba can get some relief, whatever form it takes, but its hard to ignore the strangeness of the situation.
