I believe the US Embassy in Cuba is out of diesel for its generators. They asked Cuba to let them import diesel just for themselves but Cuba said no. In fairness... The alternative here was to go to war with Russia and Cuba. It was stupid to try and say oil couldn't be shipped to Cuba, and backing down was the obvious end-game here.

How is this benefiting Russia exactly? Russia has no shortage of buyers for their oil. This is benefiting Cuba which is under embargo and was forcibly cut off from its primary supplier in Venezuela and is currently suffering from a humanitarian crisis due to US actions
