Won't be so funny when someone gets an itchy trigger finger and sparks WW3.

spiegel_im_spiegel 4 hr ago +5
china just wants their oil out of there and leave

SufficientProof40 3 hr ago +3
Nah, this just shows the world that blockading is cool, China will blockade Taiwan.

Well Iran is blockading the straits. America is blockading the blockade. So maybe China should blockade the blockade the blockade.

Yeah, nothing like flirting with a naval confrontation in a major oil chokepoint during an election year. This is how gas hits $8. At minimum, people should be calling reps asking where the authorization is.

starrpamph 3 hr ago +27
Pretty sure my reps are busy special ordering jet skis with aipac money

And gambling against your holdings with inside info, you’re their bag holder

I am human capital stock according to Kevin Hassett. Trumpski’s first economics advisor.

Iran said “Enjoy the current pump figures. With the so-called ‘blockade’, soon you’ll be nostalgic for $4–$5 gas."

Iran will say anything to make this bloackde go away because this hurts iranian economy too. However it hurts us as well. The world is very fluid, oil tankers have started to get oil from alternative sources except Asian countries which were highly dependent on the gulf. Saudi has been using its Yanbu pipeline as much as possible and UAE is also using its pipeline into Oman to bypass Hormuz. All in all, yes we will be paying a lot for gas but I don't expect it to go extremely high

Cizenst 2 hr ago +1
Iran is used to blockades, we are not.
1
Quirky-Video-9146 2 hr ago +1
If that's true then why are they posting propaganda about high prices? Oil exports have been the main source of income for Iran. They will get hurt too, don't believe everything you see online. They need to pay their soldiers somehow

American_Bogan 2 hr ago +1
“Except Asian countries” is a pretty big caveat though when they account for 1/3rd of global oil consumption. The alternatives being leveraged by other countries to soften the problem, are only effective until China and others have no choice but to buy from those same alternatives too, causing a bidding war that will drive up the price for everyone relatively equally. Unless there’s altruistic oil companies with that will sell their oil at reduced profit to your country instead of China.

Good news is that it can’t go any higher than $9.99.
2
Proper_Trouble8191 3 hr ago
Really? Why? As someone who remembers when gas broke the $1 barrier, I can say that dealers can get creative if they need to.

President Dumbass Trump: open the strait or I’ll keep it closed.

MAGA is making the whole world Great™️ I see. So much winning! Only have to blow up a few thousand more people and trump will get us right back to where we started. Mission Accomplished ✔️ endless wars in the Middle East to satiate the appetite of the military industrial complex.

RCer1986 4 hr ago +4
Pfft, just a few thousand? Those are rookie numbers. Drowsy Donny wants to wipe out the entire civilization with God's holy genocidal fire.

This is a terrible proposal, it's going to leave US troops as sitting ducks for.... How long? Forever? You don't have to be Nostradamus to see how this could go sideways. Then again maybe that's something he'd like so he can escalate while playing the victim?

My guess is this is in response to reports that China is supplying Iran with weapons by boat.

Kenichi2233 4 hr ago +6
So they are not blockade the strait just Iran
6
Long-Emu-7870 4 hr ago +6
Apparently, the blockade is against ships coming or going from Iran. I wonder what the traffic was today.
6
Kenichi2233 4 hr ago -2
That is less bad

I feel badly for those poor sailors tasked with this moronic exercise. All in defence is a pedophile who cannot bear to be faced with even a hint of repercussions of his criminal past (and present).

I don't think Trump is mentally competent. It is his cronies and the oligarchs pulling the strings here.

Capricorn75 4 hr ago +4
As much as I despise that orange turd, the men behind the curtain are so much worse.

Personal_Breakfast49 4 hr ago +2
They want to force the EU to do something about it.

Captlard 4 hr ago +2
Seal the deal.. What happened to the world’s best negotiator?
2
bel9708 2 hr ago +1
“Let’s see how Iran likes $200 a barrel” - Trump basically
1
Imbendo 2 hr ago +1
Dont matter what price oil is if you can’t sell it
1
bel9708 2 hr ago +1
So you’re saying gas will be c**** in Iran but expensive everywhere else? Damn Donny really has them by the balls.
1
HereInTheCut 4 hr ago +2
He thinks he's Dean Wormer or something. No, you can't put the Strait of Hormuz on double secret blockade.
2
Antrophis 4 hr ago +5
Iran was letting their ships out. So now between the two it is completely closed now.
5
Yodl007 3 hr ago +3
What is he going to do to Chinese ships though ? Declare war and sink them ?
3
Daleabbo 4 hr ago -2
Who's ships were they? How does it impact the price of oil if there is less?
-2
ChicagoBiHusband 2 hr ago +1
“We’re blocking them back to the Stone Age.”
1
hl_lost 2 hr ago +1
oil futures about to have a week. hormuz is like 20% of global seaborne crude, you can't really "blockade" around that without the whole market feeling it. hope everyone enjoyed c**** gas while it lasted tbh

008Zulu 3 hr ago
Nothing says opening the Strait, than closing the Strait!

SnailLikeAttitude 3 hr ago
How does that lower prices
0
bel9708 2 hr ago +1
Tariffs make everything cheaper. If they didn’t why would Trump have put them on every country.
