I doubt that could or would happen to the continental US, but if we did get a nuke dropped on us, that would change everything about everything worldwide. If it hit D.C., it might decentralize the government so much that the US would experience the same sort of humbling defeat as Japan did.

They can't send the foot soldiers of their civil war against America. The US military refused to play along when originally chosen to be the Republican threat against the rest of us, so they had to create their own army to deploy against us. Being massively outnumbered, Republicans keep the lies flowing about "law enforcement" while keeping courts busy with judgements pointing out the constant crimes being committed. It's the same reason that Republicans can't risk the perpetrators of the Trump-Epstein child sex trafficking ring seeing justice. They are way too dependent on them now, and have committed far too much betrayal against America, and much of the world, to walk away. I'm guessing a fair number are also kid touchers protecting themselves, judging by the nonstop evil that they continue to push.

There's no way to secretly invade a country. The buildup of forces will always be evident to anyone with a plane or spy satellites. It's the times and specific locations of an invasion that are the surprise, not that one is occuring.  To invade a country with a competent military you need an army, like 100s if thousands of troops on the ground, if you want the to survive. You can make quick forays if special forces for specific attacks, but those are not invasions which is about securing ground.  If the US is stupid enough to invade expect to see far more deaths than Vietnam.

It’s part of why it’s basically impossible to invade the US, and why us having a giant military is absurd. We are surrounded by giant oceans on each coast, with dense impassable forest to north and wide open desert to the south. With both nations being allies. Any military buildup would be identified weeks ahead of time and easily bombarded into ash before they got to any major city or staging area. The us has immense geographical advantages, we don’t need a giant military to protect us.

Not sure where I read it, but war serves as a great way to spend wealth in a way that doesn't redistribute itself among the people. Instead, all that money gets funneled into contracts and weapons and what not. Now take that concept, and consider how wealthy the US is as a country. Suddenly, all these pointless conflicts and wars make a lot of sense. Not saying its the single, sole, standalone source for all of our problems. But it certainly paints a picture about how some of the corruption works in this country, and how it motivates the decisions being made.

Many people are like that, but you you're neglecting the fact that as this shitstorm of an administration continues to make stupid decisions, more of the consuquences of those decisions begin to impact the lives of people, regardless of political beliefs. Some people who supported the current administration are/will get worn down and wake up, atleast to a degree. Not to mention alot of those non-voters who are impacted might decide to vote the next time around. I personally have seen several republican voters i know beginning to feel more and more frustrated with how things are going, and for some i can see the cogs turning in their heads.
