We're not gonna mention anything about it for a while and just kinda see how it goes.

The end could be impeachment and removal from office. The thing they should have done the first time. Or second time he got impeached. Maybe 3rd times the charm?
100
alonghardlook Apr 1, 2026 +44
You think its a coincidence that **exactly** the necessary number of democrats opposed the War Powers act to stop the Iran War? Removal from office is not on the table, even if a blue wave happened in the midterms. You might get another strongly worded impeachment though, if you behave yourself.

Cuba and Greenland. Just read an article about the US wanting more military bases [there](https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/01/world/europe/us-military-seeks-expansion-in-greenland.html) in Greenland.
21
KimchiLlama Apr 1, 2026 +21
They will be able to get the bases. In fact, they used to have them until the U.S. abandoned them. But that’s different than annexing the entire territory. They also already have a base in Cuba. They may just be careful in occupying Cuba because then the plight of the civilians becomes a U.S. responsibility (by international law). But it’s not like the U.S. has ever cared about international law before (except when it’s applied as a matter of convenience).
21
capebretoncanadian Apr 1, 2026 +8
They don't even follow their own laws anymore.
8
SpecialistKangaroo Apr 1, 2026 +6
You think anybody in the Trump Administration cares about following international law?

Yeah they’re doing Cuba next, then aliens after that (I’m literally dead serious on this)

I’ll never forget how casually that was dropped by news outlets. The President is associated with an island that graped and trafficked kids. That should shake the fabrics of this country Yet here we are
20
Ardalev Apr 1, 2026 +10
There's nothing casual about it, the media are owned by the very same people that were regulars on the island

1
k_realtor Apr 1, 2026 +13
It's pretty annoying to hear Trump but it's for people that are trading that are going to fall for it because they're buying and selling stocks depending on what he says since he's pumping and dumping. They really need to discuss the investigation on insider stock trading, banning elected officials on trading, and the Epstein files but America's a corporation/business first, then a country that cares about it's citizens second so, it is what it is and it's not going to change. It's just not cool that other countries have to follow along. for example when BBC covers the middle east, they talk about Trump instead of show pictures of the Iranian leaders. Like imagine you read a wikipedia page about Iran and it's just constantly talking about how America was involved when it has little do with the history, pretty annoying.
13
Sitchrea Apr 1, 2026 +7
One issue, though, is that the US is the aggressor. So the onus is always on the US to act right now. Hence, more news coverage. Another is that most Iranian leaders are either dead or only releasing public statements because the US will assassinate them, too.
7
Sitchrea Apr 1, 2026 +9
All 4 of the US' available supercarriers are on their way to join Operation: Epic Fury. Two Marine Expeditionary Units and the 82nd Airborne are already in-theater. This is all disinformation.
9
morfraen Apr 1, 2026 +5
Says they're leaving while moving another carrier group to the region.
5
TheJiggie Apr 1, 2026 +4
Trump is the master of “Never let them know your next move” because he doesn’t even know what his next move is… I mean he had a conference recently where I believe he was contradicting himself over and over for the whole 40 or so minutes… He’s just waiting for someone else to feed him his next great idea…
4
takeda64 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Exactly, he wouldn't be sending additional aircraft carriers if he planned to leave 'pretty quickly'. This was said to prop up the market so they can steal more.
1
SarcoZQ Apr 1, 2026 +9
I don't want to see the guy at all. Take care of your geriatrics. Especially the criminal ones plunging the world in yet another crisis.

I think 80% of my use of words at this point is muttering "Jesus f****** Christ" to myself: "As for the enriched uranium still possessed by Iran, Trump said: "That's so far underground, I don't care about that." "We'll always be watching it by satellite," he said.

chaos0510 Apr 1, 2026 +551

To close the straight of Hormuz so that Russia could benefit from raised oil prices while simultaneously pointing reporters attention away from the Ukraine war?
345

And so he could have a reason to withdraw from NATO to further aid Russia’s ambitions?

31

And to make NATO the scapegoat as the reason nothing went as planned, and is now a reason to leave it. As Putin would want it.
25
lightspuzzle Apr 1, 2026 +6
putins warchest was empty so he needed a hand from his friend trump.also oil companies wanted to make more money.lets not forget about the israel guy who bribed his way to a war.plenty of reasons.
6
SureWouldForest Apr 1, 2026 +7
Sincere question: many many people repeatedly made the claim it was Israel pulling us/Trump into this fiasco. Are Putin and Bibi in cahoots???
7
Local_Idiot_123 Apr 1, 2026 +9
Sincere answer: you and most people are looking at this in terms of geopolitics because that’s how the world used to work. The biggest powers used to be countries. Now the biggest powers are the rich and powerful who puppeteer those countries. They are not loyal to the countries they puppet any further than those countries can be manipulated for their own enrichment. “The Epstein class” is an emerging descriptor for this new framing of global power. Yes, bibi and Putin are in cahoots because they are in the Epstein class, the puppeteer class. They, and Trump, and others in this class, are benefitting.
9
DepopulationXplosion Apr 1, 2026 +3
Bibi wants Iran nuked. Bibi and Lindsey Graham convinced Trump that bombing Iran would get him a Nobel Peace Prize. (or some shit like that) Putin is just going ”Never interrupt your enemy while he’s making a mistake.”
3

It is a mistake to presume that the president can answer "Why?" to anything. He is governed primarily by whims, self-preservation and a lust for power.
7
More_Bigger Apr 1, 2026 +6
Whats even funnier is 7 months ago the WH put out a press briefing or whatever saying they 1000% destroyed their nuke capabilities and that anyone saying otherwise was fake news. It would be comedy if it wasnt so concerning.

He really said that? Wasn't it far underground before they started bombing them again and didn't the satellites work then either? Stated objectives for war: \- destroy all nuclear capacity \- regime change \- no more ballistic missiles None of those will have been accomplished, but I'm okay with putting an end to all the meaningless death.

19
Mormaethor Apr 1, 2026 +15
I genuinely wonder how much money it takes to move an entire carrier full of marines halfway across the world. Not even engagements, just the fuel, food, wages etc...
15
Hefty-Comparison-801 Apr 1, 2026 +5
It would make sense if the enemy was worried about the Marines and capitulated so that the US could accomplish at least one major war objective. But clearly that's not the case, so - art of the deal indeed.
5
Traditional-Goal-229 Apr 1, 2026 +4
And what happens if after declaring victory Iran attacks Israel or the US (with a suicide bomber). Is he just going to ignore it or be dragged in again after declaring victory? He really has no clue about geopolitics.
4
vinnybawbaw Apr 1, 2026 +70
Leaving NATO, then going after Cuba, and then Greenland because he’s pissed NATO told him to f*** off with Iran.

We will probably get "Trump thinks about pulling out of NATO, after NATO refuses to help US invade NATO" pretty soon with Greenland anyway.

And sanctions on Iran and Russia lifted.
30
Hefty-Comparison-801 Apr 1, 2026 +13
Also Rubio saying yesterday that maybe they'll pull out of NATO because the allies they didn't consult leading into this war didn't participate in the war.
13
Tonaia Apr 1, 2026 +15
Russia's dealing with a net negatve with the hits to their terminals recently. Prices are higher, but their ability to load those exports fell off a cliff.
15
External-Praline-451 Apr 1, 2026 +24
Trump's lifted sanctions on Russia and Iran, and is now threatening to leave NATO. All of it benefits Russia.

Sure, make this a geopolitical drive-by and leave the region burning and bleeding for 30 years, you dummy. Jokes aside, this is him floating the idea of pulling out to create an adverse reaction to the obviously illogical nature of the move, so the Americans feel obligated to accept a more hands on approach, since they've just said it was dumb to leave at this point.
8

Pulling out of Iran would leave the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian control. Iran has already stated they will allow any country trading on the Yuan through the Strait. This will force everyone onto the Yuan. Which will crash the petrodollar. Which will collapse the US Bond Market. Which will collapse the US economy. Is Trump working for China?

Create market chaos. Buy, stability. Sell. More chaos Buy and so on . What a game they are being allowed to play. This has f all to do with anything else.

Perfect - leave Iran open as a constant war option to use anytime they need a distraction or a market pump’n’dump.

How's that unconditional surrender working out ?

super_fallguys Apr 1, 2026 +2
That sounds very wasteful as opposed to finishing the job during the Twelve Day War…

Using schoolyard bullies as a visual. A group of rich school yard bullies pushed the guy most eager to prove himself to start a fight. The fight is now out of hand. So the guy now turns around and walks away. Leaving everyone fighting behind him.

Send market one way with statement, a day later act completely opposite. In the middle profit for you and your buddies

So he wants to say this to bring the price of oil down before he invites over the Easter weekend so that the price remains low. Then when the price rockets again after the holiday, he might pull out or do some other funny TACO to try bring the price of oil down again.

PleaseEvolve Apr 1, 2026 +2
Almost makes you appreciate trump’s first term crew. As awful as they were, they occasionally said “no” to his madness.

twenafeesh Apr 1, 2026 +2
The pump before the dump. I don't think his speech tonight is going to be good news.

Snarl_Marx Apr 1, 2026 +2
Trump trying to moonwalk his way out of this quagmire of his own making.

He's so stupid. He starts a war without any support or consultation with our allies and then gets pissed at them when they won't take part in his reckless war. What a moron. His supporters don't care. Sure he ran on no new wars. Doesn't matter. As long as liberals hate him, they're happy and they'll support whatever batshit crazy thing he wants to do. And yet liberals "hate America." Stupidity run rampant.

Moron. Spend billions sending thousands of troops and ships there. Now what?

Spaceship_Africa Apr 1, 2026 +2
Is this an April Fools joke?
2
tvfeet Apr 1, 2026 +2
50,000+ troops in the region and we're just going to leave in 2-3 weeks having gained absolutely nothing and basically ruined things for the entire world? This was a great plan.
2
175junkie Apr 1, 2026 +2
What a loser.

4FriedChickens_Coke Apr 1, 2026 +2
What an absolute shitshow. US is a rogue superpower. Always was, I guess, but this destructive flailing around while spitting in their allies’ faces is really something to witness. I don’t think they’ll ever retain their standing after this admin, as it’s pretty clear they can’t be trusted even amongst former allies. The world truly needs to go its own way and leave these psychopaths to themselves.

There's gotta be something better journalists can report on related to the Iran war than Trump flip flopping on the timeline on a daily basis.

bummed_athlete Apr 1, 2026 +2
This guy doesn't even know what he's doing from hour to hour.
2
SirPhobos1 Apr 1, 2026 +2
And he'll do it on TACO Tuesday.
2
End3rWi99in Apr 1, 2026 +2
We aren't sending 50,000 troops to "leave quickly". Trump team is using project manager 101 to "two week" their way through the next decade.

One day its “were leaving”, the next were talking nukes and instituting the draft, the next, the war is over and weve destroyed them, the next, Trump threatens to destroy their energy grid. Every day is april fools day for americans, were all fools

iamacheeto1 Apr 1, 2026 +2
TACO Tuesday. And Wednesday. And Thursday. And Friday….
2
VexedCanadian84 Apr 1, 2026 +2
in other words, attack Iran when Trump needs a distraction from other bad news or to pump up the price of oil to help Putin
2
armyuvamba Apr 1, 2026 +2
There is no leave and return…unless they remove all US bases from Middle Eastern countries…
2
MattyBeatz Apr 1, 2026 +2
So, what was accomplished?
2
the_hair_of_aenarion Apr 1, 2026 +2
A tactic to getting trump to stfu may be to start referring to him as "lead epstein coconspirator" instead of trump. He'll probably bomb fewer places if every time we have to talk about him we remind the world he's named in the epstein files more than epstein.

RedofPaw Apr 1, 2026 +2
This situation is just like Russia: Just SAY you won. Celebrate. Then leave. If anyone asks it was a great victory. Or... you can just keep digging down, pissing everyone off and f****** everything up for no gain.
