Vance will pull out the hyper loyalist weirdos. But he doesn't have even the barest shred of charisma. That man is completely DoA with a more general electorate and it's really funny watching people act like he's actually a thing.

i'd buy that he's a thing and not a real person with logic and morals

And Rubio is genuinely weak

A "choke artist", as someone once called him.

Have to remember, these are all the people Trump crushed in 2016. Before Vance's time, but Vance is the exact archetype of politician that Trump ripped in half and then publicly humiliated. And it's not like these people now look better after licking Trump's boots for the last 10 years. Voters were drawn to Trump's perceived strength. These dumbass bootlickers seem to think that Trump's strength-based appeal will rub off on them if they sycophant hard enough, when nobody (especially Trump) respects Trump's weakling bootlickers.

Was initially and recovered too late with some good jabs to Trump. But in the meantime they learned the new methods. Those that could, at least.

I don’t trust anything in this world anymore. The US jumped the shark 10 years ago. I will never put anything past the insanity that is the Republican Party. I’ve learned my lesson. I laughed at the golden escalator decent and haven’t laughed since. The downturn, the US and Humanity in general has had, has been mind blowing.

It's cute that we're going to pretend the current vain, narcissistic president is going to allow his subordinates to run campaigns for president while Trump is the sitting president in 2028.

How about they both lose and we end this nightmare in 2028, 2032, and 2036? Keep voting blue.

Rubio probably has a better shot at winning the general election than Vance. Vance is like the shut-in freak who doesn't know who to human. Rubio looks normal when he isn't spacing out. Unfortunately for Rubio, he is heavily associated with Trump who a majority of Americans are starting to hate.

i'm sick of the main stream media sane washing these people ... none of them are capable leaders.

And none of it matters because voters are going to take out their anger on the MAGA cult in November 2026 and November 2028. Hoping for a Reagan 1980 vibe.

It’s a poll to see which one gets to be the sacrificial lamb for the democratic candidate to defeat in 2028.

Neither of them have a political career after this term.

The fate of both of these guys is going to rest on the final outcome of the Iran War. If this thing drags on and Iran doesn't buckle to military pressure (which looks likely), it becomes a diplomacy exercise to wrap it up and that could take a long time with not a great outcome. Rubio will be the face of those efforts and the base is expecting a very one-sided US deal. J.D can largely hide from the whole Iran problem. So let's see how this looks in 3 months. Rubio might be a heroic leader or the face of a massive diplomatic disaster.

I’m guessing disaster with how this administration operates. Trump still keeps sending Kushner and Witkoff to negotiations, even with Vance and Rubio there. Plus I doubt Bibi is going to let this opportunity slip away from him. If any chance of a deal happening, he is going to bomb there energy sectors and oil refineries, and say it was all thanks to America.

100%. And you know who knows that dynamic better than anyone.....Iran. They will not move an inch until there is irrefutable proof that the US and Israel will honor it. And even then, they will immediately posture ready to close access to the strait in a heartbeat. They always knew the strait was their (not so secret) weapon. BUT NOW, they know it's their chokehold on the world economy. That's a lesson they will never unlearn and neither will the world.

D-MAN-FLORIDA Mar 29, 2026 +2
A not so secret weapon that blindsided the administration. Because who really knows about foreign policy and war tactics? Career professional diplomats and military officials, or drunk Fox News host who can bench press?

Virtual-Squirrel-725 Mar 29, 2026 +1
The whisky war warrior Hegseth will be the face of everything wrong with this conflict...the brash, over-confident, death from the sky bravado that drew the US into a battle it's totally underestimated.

If everything really starts going south, his ass is probably the first one to be fired. Followed by Gabbard, Ratcliffe, Patel, and at the very end, Rubio.

Ahh yes the bouquet of this shit is far superior that one but that does have a wonderful textured appearance.

How dumb do you need to be to still call yourself a “MAGA faithful” today? Must be the lowest of the low IQs.

TheAskewOne Mar 29, 2026 +1
The funniest thing when Trump goes away will be watching the GOP leadership fight each other over who the real heir is, (or who is the less tainted by him, depending on how things go).

captive audience with a singular (and simplistic) mindset. the outcome ain't exactly a mystery to be solved. but hey, the NY Times will waste your time delving into deepity with a take that totally misses the point.

Vance couldn't lead a horse to water. Neither could Dumbo Rubio

I just hope he doesn’t have fascist tendencies like Trump.  Americans can’t afford another 4 years of fascism.
