Verdi Baritone information

Posted by Sad-Illustrator2216

🥀.. so I got classed as a Verdi Baritone …and I’m wondering if anyone has any cool links or info on this sub class of the Baritone voice..🥀 After a couple years of training across genres I have developed my agility etc I was wondering cause all my life I’ve been told your a light baritone and now got classed as a Verdi ….i did think I was a baryton -martin …but can handle songs in modern opera hunchback etc ….so I was just wondering if anyone had anything cool about it cause honestly I feel split on being a baritone in general..💔🥀🖤

Verdi baritones are actually pretty badass - you get all the dramatic intensity without being stuck in the bass basement. The voice type exists because Verdi wrote roles that needed more power and darker color than your typical lyric baritone could handle. If you can handle Hunchback material then you're definitely on the right track since that requires serious stamina and dramatic chops.

you got reclassified from light baritone to Verdi and youre out here handling hunchback? thats not a voice type thats a main character arc. the vocal folds said "we're doing heavy lifting now"
