How do you put those two on the same level? Are you actually Sam Levinson?

Euphoria isn't even the best show *this week* let alone the last 20 years.

What? Breaking Bad I'll give you, but the biggest show of the last 20 years is undoubtedly Game Of Thrones. It might've ended with a whimper, but at its peak it was unmatched.

If we’re going viewership wise then it’s GoT and The Walking dead, TWD was competing with the NFL at one point. Breaking Bad is weird because it didn’t really become hugely popular until after it ended.

Why would you compare them? It's like comparing George Lucas to Eli Roth, Two very different styles.

Breaking Bad was absolutely incredible but I gotta give it to Gilligan for the consistency across both BB and Better Call Saul. The way he built that whole universe and kept quality so high through hundreds of episodes is just insane
Levinson definitely has talent with Euphoria but it feels more like lightning in bottle rather than sustained excellence. Plus being in military you appreciate the attention to detail Gilligan puts in his work - every little thing has purpose and connects back later. That level of planning and execution is what separates good from legendary writers in my opinion
Both created cultural phenomenons but Gilligan's work just has more staying power I think

Did Levinson do something bigger than Euphoria? If not why is he in this discussion?

The Idol was a little overhated and Breaking Bad is a little overrated.
