Sony shouldn't be able to cling onto the IP by releasing universally panned movies.

Marvel sold it, also spider verse movies are the best comic book movies. They also release the worst with Morbius

Madam web was really bad. Kraven was also terrible. I dont think the venom movies are very good either.

You can't just leave Morbius out like that

He mentioned it, I didn't think was worth mentioning again.

Sony thought it was worth a second theatrical release run, so surely it’s worth mentioning a second time.

The part where he literally looks directly into the camera and says “it’s morbin time” is definitely worth mentioning.

While I normally don't believe in AI in movies I would hands down buy the 4k remaster of Morbius where he says It's Morbin' Time.

Venom is fun but I agree they’ve made bad stuff too. Worth it for spider-verse

Venom has Tom Hardy. He's arguably the only good quality of those movies.

This. There was potential in every movie. But Tom Hardy was the only good part of those movies.

The first Spider-Verse movie was a top 20 comic book movie.

Why? They're following the contract Marvel negotiated.

It’s never going to happen. Unless Sony wants to get into the theme park business I’d say it’s a long shot at best. Best case scenario would be for them both to be acquired by a third party. But there is no financial incentive to do so. It would cost billions of dollars to do and in the end whatever company did buy them would be worse off for doing so. If we’re predicting which companies are going to merge or be acquired I have theories. Market consolidation is in flux right now due to paramount-WB-Netflix clusterfuck. But the market already responded by giving Netflix a stock “pop” after they backed down.

I remember a big argument happening before Spidey entered the MCU, and they found a way. There's too much money here for them to just leave it on the table.

No. Sony owns the movie rights but not the tv rights. But they also allow Spider-Man to show up in marvels movies. So Spider-Man and kingpin are in the same universe but can’t cross over into each others respective tv/movie medium. Definitely more complicated than your comment suggests

I'll admit I haven't seen the new Daredevil or that Hawkeye show he was in, but based on the Netflix show idk how this Kingpin could manage a physical fight against Spider-Man.

He beats a man to death and holds his own against Daredevil in a fist fight in the Netflix show. The character has always used fat to obscure his muscle, which is considerable.
That being said, he’s not even necessarily talking about a fist fight. Kingpin and Spider-Man have just as much history as he does with Daredevil.

"I never watched the show but feel totally fine expressing uninformed opinions about it."
