Vista Maria Lawsuit Brings Allegations of Decades of Abuse to Light

I used to work at a similar place in Detroit but for boys. I used to drive some of the kids over to Vista Maria because they had a school on their campus. I remember the dorms seriously looked like prisons. I will say from my experience working with the boys, it is a really difficult job. Very few of those kids really stood a chance. They all came from broken homes and were dealing with all sorts of trauma and oftentimes mental challenges.

my dad always called it the school for bad children. and it was never quite joking when he said it.
