Netanyahu doesn't want any of his wars to stop. He doesn't even fund them, we do — as long as Zionist lawmakers run our government, the fighting will continue. They think The Rapture will come if Israel rules most of the Holyland and will do whatever it takes to make it happen.

Ironically, there are people in the muslim world believe in almost the exact same thing, that making war with jews a prerequisite to the coming of jesus and the madhi who will smite all the non believers and transform the world into a paradise. For groups like hamas, basically jesus is meant to be their nuclear bomb.
>A Sahih hadith concerning Jews and one of the signs of the coming of Judgement Day has been quoted many times, (**it became a part of the charter of Hamas**).\[126\]
>The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdullah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (the Boxthorn tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.\[nb 3\]
I dont get why we condemn this type of thinking for christians adding fuel to the fire but then just pretend that even if we did actually bother to learn about this part of islam that it couldnt possibly similarly be a driving factor of the conflict.

You know there’s no Mike Hammasabee doing interviews with Tucker Carlson saying any of this, right? Hamas has done shitloads of interviews and none of them say any of this millenarian idiocy. They’re very clear that they’re fighting the occupation. Same with Hezbollah, who was literally created in response to Israel occupying southern lebanon.

From Al Jazeera itself, so you wont outright dismiss it as an untrusted source

>Iran’s state ideology — Welayat al-Faqih, the Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist — holds that in the absence of the Twelfth Imam (leader), who is in occultation (ghaybah, or in hiding), supreme authority must rest with a qualified Islamic jurist governing on his behalf.
>Moreover, factions within Iran’s clerical and military establishment went further, **transforming the theological expectation of the Mahdi’s return into an operational political doctrine.**
>The Iranian leadership has institutionalised the idea that unrelenting struggle against oppressive powers is a sacred obligation. Under this framework, strategic retreat or diplomatic **accommodation would be tantamount to prophetic betrayal.**
>This theological framing later justified “forward defence“—a strategy of exporting the revolution to forge proxy networks throughout the region in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza.
Just because you dont speak any of the languages these people are saying this stuff in, and therefore dont see it on your TV, doesn't mean it doesnt exist.

Ironically, the prophecy in question doesn't specify that there would be only **one** "war against the Jews". In fact, reality had already proven that's not the case, as there have been multiple wars between Muslim countries of the Middle East and Israel.
That is to say, the "prophetic betrayal" is hogwash; there could be a **million** future wars between Muslims and Israelis before the prophesied one finally comes.

Netanyahu & his government dont look brown to me ..
Youd be forgiven for thinking these people came from Europe rather than their supposed homeland in the middle east.

Neither do plenty of Lebanese and Palestinian people. It is almost like the Levant and the Middle East has a diverse range of skin tones including plenty that are white.
Tony Shalhoub is of Lebanese descent, but was able to easily pass as an Askhanazi Jew on Mrs. Maisel. Sacha Baron Cohen is an Ashkanazi Jew was able to pass as Syrian Jew and individual from Central Asia.
Linda Sarsour is of Palestinian descent, but without knowing her background I bet many would think she was an European Muslim convert.
Sofi Tsedaka is of Samaritian descent, so OG Levantite roots, yet by just looking at her I bet many would think she is Ashkanazi Jews.
It is like the whole framing of the Israeli-Palestianian/Lebanese Conflict as one of white vs brown is stupid.
Also just pointing out Ben-Gvir, one of the worst in Bibi's government, is of Kurdish Jewish descent meaning by the stupid definition of defining Middle Easterns as simply brown he is brownier than most of the Palestinian leadership.

Lebanon made Hezbollah illegal and wants them gone they can’t do it themselves but are fine with Israel doing it

They are not fine Israel doing it. The government's argument is that they can't do it while the country is bombed.
The real argument is that neither them nor Israel can actually disarm Hezbollah, so we need to wait for the goodness of Iran may it finally leave us alone and stop colonizing us, all while hoping Israel doesn't colonize us. Sucks being a Lebanese, and I am a southerner... The prospect of losing my city is very real.. and if it does happen, I'll always hate Israel for taking it, but will never forget that Hezbollah caused this because an 86 years old tyrant got what he deserved

Wasn’t the government supposed to disarm Hezbollah like 20 years ago with that 2006 UN resolution? I understand that a lot has happened in the interim, and it was probably highly unlikely the government could have actually done it. I just don’t think the government’s argument that they can’t do it because of the bombing really holds a lot of weight since it’s been 20 years since they agreed to disarm them.
But I’m not Lebanese and haven’t really been following Lebanon’s internal politics that closely over the last 20 years. I might be missing something.
Edited to add: I hope everything ends up being okay for you and your family and town. Best case scenario is there’s some definitive resolution that will allow Lebanon to focus on other things, rather than a never ending conflict with their neighbor. That’s no way for anyone to live.

Wasn't Israel supposed to un-occupy lands its occupies since 60 years? There is often a gulf between UN resolution and the reality on the field.
More seriously, Hezbollah did a Mini-coup / civil war on May 7th 2008, and has basically controlled the government since then. They don't decide everything, but they had a veto on important issues (electoral law, election of the president, and obviously any step taken to disarm them). The coup happened after the government went after their landline network and some camera they had surveiling the airport.
Yeah best case scenario is a definitive outcome but I really don't see it.. unfortunately. I feel Israel will all but annihilate Hezbollah who will keep a minimum force that is active enough to make it so Israelis keep their excuse and I may never see my hometown again because I come from Tyre

Thanks matey !
It is a beautiful but I'm obviously partial hahah. Hope one day you can visit it as a Lebanese city.
One thing about Tyre is that it belongs to the whole old world civilisations, it is truly world heritage ; it is the mythical birthplace of the princess who gave her name to Europe, the mythical birthplace of Dido and Cadmus, the ancestral home of Hannibal, and was the last Crusader bastion, and is important to Jewish history, and to shia history in Lebanon being the biggest shia city. So even if they take it, I'd hope they don't turn it to rubble even though I won't get to bask under the sun that bathes it

All of that sounds right up my alley! I love places where ancient history is there right next to the modern, and is still a part of people’s lives.
It’s clear you really love your city. I’m truly hoping for the best for all of you!
