'We don't recommend' — Zelensky warns foreign officials against attending Russia's Victory Day parade

I totally want him to tweet something like "EVACUATE NOW" at the parade, and then leave it alone.

Also funny to think a few years ago when this began in 2022, Russia tried to rush their victory and capture of Kyiv by may so that their Parade would’ve been “even larger”

I've said it before, i know Zelenskyy used to be a comedian, but I find it remarkable how well he uses humour and levity while his country is at war with a tyrant. And he still feels like he commands such presence. It feels like we always see him, whereas putin seems to always be hiding in fear.

I don't think it can be dismissed as a bluff. Ukraine created a credible threat. If Russia ignores the threat and continues on like nothing is going to happen, that directly incentivizes Ukraine to actually disrupt the parade and it would humiliate Putin for ignoring a credible threat and putting the parade in harms way. So either Putin looks weak by cancelling/watering down the parade, or he looks weak by getting attacked on Parade Day. I know it's not this simple, but there is also nothing in the geneva convention that says Ukraine can't attack military targets during an active conflict. The attack would be perfectly legal. You don't hold parades in an active conflict zone and expect them to be safe. Obviously Ukraine won't attack the parade directly, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if they hit military targets in the city proper, and that would still ruin the parade.

Someone should install big directional speakers on some rooftop and blast the parade with drone noise. While it is non-violent, it would be hilarious to see everyone run for cover. 

I don't see any reason why this would be just a bluff. Russia is already trying everything it can to beat Ukraine besides nukes - and they are failing. Putin also knows that actually bringing out nukes would trigger NATO, even without trump, to conventionally bomb Putin's bunker to powder. Putin is in a bind. His military at his parade or nearby will be attacked, in ways he cannot prevent. Or really, that he could prevent in only one way: ceasing the invasion of Ukraine.

It would be a great opportunity to strike elsewhere in the country when a large amount of air defence is surrounding the capital.

Ukraine attacking the parade-goers themselves would be a problem for NATO. *However,* Ukraine sending a massive swarm of drones to hit a couple military targets in the city at a time that just happens to coincide with putin's pity parade; well that's not NATO's problem.

It would absolutely be the smartest thing to bluff and force them to waste resources on securing the parade. Not just because it wastes resources, but because their reaction to the threat proves that they're vulnerable

He did something similar last year, and it turned out to be a bluff. I would not be surprised if he mixed it up now.

What I would do is say I was going to bomb the parade and because of that they either cancel which makes them look weak or go though with it and that means they are going to shift a lot of security and equipment to that parade. I would then throw some decoy's there and put the real bombs and drones to other areas with critical infrastructure.

I think the drop of russias supremacy illusion is long over due. “Big strong army” but how good did the citizens really have it before this war? The country was still under a lot of sanctions. Citizens were famous for either making money through hacking programs and torrents (perhaps even with viruses). Youth were doing all kinds of crazy sounds like hanging from cranes and what not because life wasn’t worth living there. Corruption, prostitution, emigration Idk man, this war really cemented that weak reality. But it wasn’t far off of being visible before all this

Or it could be a diversion. With most defences now in Moscow., it's easier for Ukraine to target those regions. Why waste resources trying to penetrate the heavily-defended Moscow?

We have seen some good footage of Russian air defence systems getting all riled up. A few drones buzzing around overhead and all of the ammunition becomes airborne.

Every time the Russians make threats I've always wondered, what are they planning to do, because aside from nukes, they can't really escalate.

If he truly has body doubles, they are the ones that will be attending and then if anything happens and they die, he will miraculously survive because he is their "god."

It's a great threat because it will cause some people to not attend. If enough people don't attend, Ukraine "wins."

China, probably, because diplomacy, which is a fancy way of saying that China is basically rubbing their hands together in glee as the rest of the world burns and they want to keep the world burning (hence diplomacy) because if all the other major powers are gone, guess who benefits?
