no thank you, please pass PL 2338/2023 so we can have a review on what has been.

In Brazil migration is not really an issue, so even the right doesn't care about it too much

No one is forcing Paraguay to take them in

Key phrase there being "feel like" in my experience this is what right wingers are like everywhere, always insistent that they are being oppressed while they still have more privileges than most other groups.

Empathy and introspection require a modicum of intelligence. You’re asking too much of conservatives.

Always mistaking bad takes and shitty values for oppressive tyranny.

SolarBum Apr 18, 2026 +22
Oppression and control is their literal ideology. Oppress women, minorities, any ethnicity outside their own, forcing their religion on others, seeking authoritarian powers for total control over the masses. Constantly pretending they are the oppressed, and the only way to save themselves is to oppress others, is just part of the cult marketing.

Conservativism is a disposition, with no real ideology behind it..just vibes. They tend to get used by whatever ideology appeals to the most which is how you've got fundies, survivalists, white supremacists, technocrats, nationalists, and capitalists all under the same umbrella

"I don't like how things change, I want everything to be frozen in time based on *my* values! Anything else is oppression and woke!"

TBH I am not a fan of exporting potentially troublesome individuals to other countries.  For anyone wondering how they are moving , mercosur citizens can initially get a 2 year residency in other mercosur countries. With extensions possible after that or even citizenships. Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Bolivia are full members.  Associate members are Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Suriname. All of their citizens can live and work in the other member countries.  (Venezuela is suspended from this agreement)

Why do right-wingers everywhere act like left-wing middle class workers want higher taxes for themselves? Usually we want to tax the wealthier more These people have zero ability to think critically about their literal life

vipros42 Apr 18, 2026 +5
They can't understand that anyone successful might have empathy for other people, hence anyone advocating left wing policies is some kind of scounger or something and just out for handouts.

Don't be surprised when Paraguay doesn't want your entitled asses, either.

mirrors almost exactly the same patterns from maga in the US. best at pretending to be a victim while trying to oppress others

There is no right to being shielded against public opinion or criticism. Especially when those opinions or criticisms are rooted in facts based on historical and scientifically significant evidence.

Right wing people are always such babies. They are not serious people

Oppression is what it literally looked like when Bolsanaro was in power. Can’t say I don’t agree with the move though because it would be nice to have dumb right wing thinkers moving to right wing countries so that they can’t prevent real countries from getting in the way of world progress.

1: They’re not, they’re literally crying telling everyone that Brazil has been living in a dictatorship in the last 4 years and it couldn’t be farther from the truth. What kind of dictatorship can you literally write online you want your president to suck a giant d*** and nothing happens to you? 2: Considering they did a Jan 6th shit show (quite literally, if you look it up) I would suggest they should SYBAU forever

gouveia00 Apr 18, 2026 +19
Last 4 years? Right wingers have whined about living in a socialist, quasi-soviet nation since Lula first won in 2003. They just started crying "dictatorship" because of what Bolsonaro have said. Hell, they even said it was a dictatorship WHILE Bolsonaro was president.

When people are no longer put in a position of superiority they act like they are suddenly oppressed
14
Throwawayforfandom33 Apr 18, 2026 +12
when you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression
12
TheRedBaron11 Apr 18, 2026 +6
Right. The most oppressed people always move to different countries in search of lower taxes. Yes, the hallmark of the oppressed, truly
6
commandrix Apr 18, 2026 +9
Okay, not-so-serious question: How hard is Brazil fighting to keep them? Because I sure wouldn't.
9
DreadPirateReddas Apr 18, 2026 +7
There's nothing stopping them from emigrating through legal means, just like there's nothing stopping them from spouting their insane bullshit, which they have been doing nonstop in the same breath they cry about the country being a far left dictatorship
7
commandrix Apr 18, 2026 +1
Yeah, thought so. I was mostly kidding about it, because they aren't even attractive enough to watch their asses as they walk away, let alone being worth fighting to keep.

Peamaster Apr 17, 2026 +8
If Bolsonaro puts in a good word for them with his buddy Trump, they’d have a home in many states!

Minimum social contribution, and maximum ability to indoctrinate your child. That's the conservative way, alright.

Good riddance, but these people should have the same warranty as products bought in Paraguay: once it's out the door, they are not Brazil's problem anymore.

Conservatism/religious fundamentalism is antisocial behavior and should be treated as such

wonder what outbreak they'll have a lot of kids die from first

doctoranonrus Apr 17, 2026 +2
Why is home-schooling conservative?
2
Evening_Operation197 Apr 18, 2026 +34
Most Brazilian parents who complain about having to send their kids to school say that they'll be 'indoctrinated' by left-wing teachers. Deep down, they know their values are questionable and they want to pass them on anyway, but without any potentially decent people looking.

sofbert Apr 18, 2026 +20
Because they can imprint their own rotten ideals in their lessons instead of y'know.. facts.

8
KingsElite Apr 18, 2026 +4
Bingo. Knowing stuff makes it hard to be Conservative.
4
jsnxander Apr 18, 2026 +7
Because for many it allows parents to teach a white-washed version of history and societal norms. You know, like slavery was actually a pretty good deal for both master AND slave. Anyway, it's not a truism about conservatives and homeschooling, but I've never met a liberal that chose to homeschool their kids.
7
TuneFriendly2977 Apr 18, 2026 +5
Distrust of the government.
5
Evening_Operation197 Apr 18, 2026 +6
Private schools are very common here. Families pushing for homeschooling are kind of rich and would never send their kids to public school. I think this part is different in the US.
6
CatProgrammer Apr 18, 2026 -1
That's not restricted to conservatives. What are the specific things they do not trust?
