You can tell by the amount of upvotes how many people weren’t alive to see the 94-95 season or 85-86 for that matter. Putting this season ahead of those as the worst is an insane statement.

While it was the same basic concept, that show was called "Saturday Live" and later "Friday Night Live" when it moved to Fridays. It was never called Saturday Night Live and it wasn't officially related to SNL. The current version is the first official UK spinoff of the US show.

This is such nostalgia bias. Everyone’s favorite series of SNL UK is the one they grew up with. There are nearly a handful of episodes. Of course different people will have their own personal golden era.

Really? This clip got you to that conclusion? This was a broad physical gag with painful joke writing and nowhere to take it. (The “iPad / pad chest” joke is just embarrassing joke writing.) They wheeled out, did broad facial reactions, couldn’t figure out a dialogue gag or a single punchline out of it, and then it ended. I’m not sure how anyone can see this and think this tops the US show, let alone anything comedic.

I dunno, the US version’s got quite a bit of sushi, and so far the UK is stale low-effort taquitos But hey, to each their own. This is my opinion. There’s an audience for carrot top’s quality of humor— he might make quite a bit of money if he tours in the UK.

Discussing Taste ----> Food. It's some real A - B shit. Bit revealing you think it's of any particular note or effort. I've watched and enjoyed US SNL on occasion, I wouldn't go around using it as a stick to beat other comedies with. Nor would I attack someone for simply enjoying a basic snack but I'm going to point out very obvious hypocrisy. You're the pretentious one, pretty clearly. Now f*** off and discuss the many thought provoking layers of Domingo some place else. It's really not that difficult to say something wasn't for you.

Nice. I see where you get your sense of wit. This is a funny idea in theory, I’ll give you that it’s even funny visual. But they had nowhere to take it. So if you have work ethic, you move on and keep swinging for better ideas. If you’re lazy, you go to air with this.

Yes US SNL has really hit a rough patch. But no, UK SNL has been churning out some actually funny content and they’re 3 weeks in. You don’t have to like everything. But they’re consistently funnier than the US version…in my opinion.

maybe it’s because i’m from the US but this wasn’t funny at all, so i’m kinda shocked people like it so much? the only real part i love on USA SNL anymore is the weekend update segments, those look like prime comedy compared to this

A lot of people like a lot of stupid stuff, lol. To be fair, this is the only clip I have seen, because even the USA SNL is complete garbage nowadays, but, this is pretty bad.
