It completely ignores the major points in the US 15-point ceasefire. The US is asking for denuclearization, no more funding of terrorists, free opening of the strait… basically giving Iran nothing while being able to resume bombings any time there is a random terrorist attack. There will not be a truce in the immediate future. They’re not even providing counter proposals that are negotiable. Both proposals represent a total victory for each side

It's because his presentation and packaging is always over the top and then he under delivers. Everyone is talking about nukes in the media, it's much more boring and easier and what they are presently doing, just to knock out their gas. Millions will die and more will suffer, but you dont need the pageantry. That's just his personal flair.

That tends to be where negotiations start. You don’t put concessions in your original proposal. Both sides presented their “perfect”. If Iran is willing to do those three things, I’m sure there would be concessions. IE: we will agree to x if you do y.

The US also wants them to be a sovereign nation. Just one that doesn’t fund terrorism or have nuclear capability given their rhetoric and past actions regarding destruction of the western world and values antithetical to Shia Islam. A sovereign nation without religious fanatics leading it, when the population doesn’t have a say in it and is murdered when they oppose, that doesn’t kill infidels in the name of God is what the US wants. If the principals of sharia law were simply how they lived within their borders no one would be in this mess. It is a theocracy that views non-believers as infidel and funds and supplies proxies who perform acts of terror in the furtherance of jihad. Sovereign nation good, killing in the name of religion to spread a minority sect of Islam by force and developing nuclear weapons bad.

Saudi Arabia is Sunni and does not develop and provide weapons to terrorist proxy groups that attack civilians in gods name. They are not chanting death to Israel and America. They are a theocracy that punishes decent within their borders, but they are not attacking the western world and instead defend and support their trade partners. In other words, they are tolerant of western culture. They do not believe in divine succession and believe no man is ordained by Allah through direct lineage of Muhammad to lead as the Shia do. They believe in merit based leadership and community support closer to a democratic system. I know you think you did something there, but the equivalence is false. There is nuance but with that take I’m going to assume that you are ignorant as you don’t understand the difference in sects and believe all Muslim countries are identical.

If you watched the live event, it was obvious he was talking about how long it'd take to destroy all their power plants according to DoD's military plans, not that he'd start the operation in 4 hours. I don't like Trump, and I wish Trump arguers actually critiqued from a place of being baseline informed.

The deadline will be reached. Trump will suddenly announce that Iran has entered negotiations (but they haven’t) and the deadline will be pushed back another week or two. And so on, and so on, and so on…..

This can be existential for Trump. The economy will be in ruins by November if this goes on - and the Ds can get impeachment-proof majorities if that is the case. The funny thing is, he can't invade either, because that won't be over as well, and it will make things even worse. His only real way out is to make a humiliating deal and give Iran ALL the cards. And then Iran will be able to tax the oil of its enemies and cut out the supply on a whim. So Israel is going to get an untouchable Iran which will rebuild its arsenal and the nuclear program whenever it wants. This is the greatest self-own in history.

There’s no credible third party. NATO is just a bunch of “I’m not involve in this shit and unless theres$$ for me” (look at France) China and Russia, well neither credible or powerful enough. UN?
